I recently rooted my OPO and am still on stock CM12.1 Rom. Installed custom kernel AK 304 version. From the time I have rooted, my mobile coverage randomly drops once every 15 minutes for 5 seconds or so. (Screenshot attached).
I am assuming its a modem issue and hence want to update to correctly working modem. Which modem should i update on. Pls help. I am on Airtel, India. Also my TWRP version is 2.8.0.1. Will it work for flashing the modem?
Here are the screenshots. Any help, much appreciated.

I'm running the KitKat+ ROM I found in the development section plus faux kernel, I flashed over jellybean and applied fix v2 so I'm getting no problems uninstalling apps or entering security settings. Thing is when I'm at home or even outside I get really slow network speeds of about 0.4 Mbps down, and in settings-aboutphone-status it switches between hspa and hspa+,but down the road about 350 metres at my kids school I get up to 7 Mbps down,I'm just wondering what version of the moto g is this KitKat+ rom based on,I own the UK retail version and was thinking if its based on a us version would it cause problems with connecting to a UK network or have problems with hspa+ in the UK based on what base this ROM is using, just throwing it out there.
Have you tried setting it to GSM auto (PRL) ?
My previous phone (HTC One X+) was running BlackBean rom and was set to CDMA by default, meant that i had to reset to GSM after every reboot.
I have experienced this also on a UK XT1032 running US Global GSM 4.4.2 - Data works but often slowly and stops entirely for periods of time. I had assumed it was the ROM and I'm waiting for the UK 4.4.2 stock firmware image which I expect will solve it. Perhaps unrelated, but I've noticed Opera Mini will not work over 3G in this ROM, but it works fine on Wifi.
EDIT: I was just thinking; that by fastboot flashing the Stock US firmware image, the UK modem firmware may also have been replaced. That could explain the problems. Flashing back the 4.4.2 UK modem firmware might fix it.
My Baseband version:
MSM8626BP_1032.340.63.00R
Can someone with a US Global GSM XT1032 confirm their Baseband version? Nevermind, confirmed via google. UK Tesco XT1032 running 4.4.2 also has the same Baseband version.
You could try flashing the UK stock 4.4.2 'NON-HLOS.bin' which appears to include the modem firmware. However if I remember correctly, flashing an incorrect radio firmware is one of the few ways to irrecoverably brick a handset.
Safest bet is to wait for the full UK stock 4.4.2 firmware image and fastboot flash that. In future when you flash a different ROM, i.e CM11, you are likely to use CWM/TWRP and the existing UK modem / radio firmware will remain untouched.
If someone wants to correct me on this, please do.
Hello all
I've been experiencing a problem which has been occurring for the past two months and it's driving me crazy.
My Nexus 5 phone rarely receives or can make calls but data (web browsing etc) works fine. My provider has not been able to fix the problem on their end and I believe this is a bug related to the phone on a software level.
I saw that this problem might be related to the radio version and a possible bug with Kitkat (4.4.4) so I flashed several radio img but that didn't help either.
My build number is KTU84P and Radio img KRT16m. I am running a stock img rom with an unlocked boot loader and recovery.
Please advise what I can do or try.

I noticed with this radio band (KR16m) that my mobile network state moves to connected and calls can be made and received when WIFI is off. As soon as I turn WIFI on, the mobile network states moves to disconnect and I loose calls/receive ability.
I've seen posts with a similar problem but I could not find a solution. Maybe downgrade the build entirely to 4.4.2 or lower?
thanks
Ofer
I have a MotoG dual SIM Version which I bought from INDIA.
I flashed CM12.1 Nightly and everything was working fine.
I have migrated to US last month. The phone was working but recently I restored to Stock Lollipop ROM and flashed
ASIARETAIL_XT1033_5.0.2_LXB22.46-28_cid7_CFC.xml
After flashing this, the sim card is not working and it shows no network.
Again flashed cm12.1 and same problem.
Phone is showing the name of network but still no signal.
Went into phone info using *#*#4346#*#*.
GSM Service shows: Radio Off
&
Cannot turn On the radio by tapping on turn on radio.
What Should I do... Please Help Me
Thanx In advance
Have you try to flash the full stock firmware? Or you can try to flash the full US Retail firmware and see if that help...

Hi everyone,
First, thanks everyone for all the information I have found in this forum for the past few weeks.
Now my problem : I have a Moto G 4G XT1039 that keep losing signal randomly. The only way to get my signal back to call or receive sms seems to be a reboot of the phone.
I don't remember exactly when it started but I think it was around June. Until a month ago I never tried to root or flash my phone. I just used the official updates from Motorola. I live in France and the phone is perfect for me except this problem.
I read here and there that a lot of people seems to have the issue but I'm surprised nobody seems really pissed of.
I downgraded to 4.4.4 to see if it would solve my problem but it did not. I read that the signal loss could be caused by Android 4.4.2 so should I downgrade further ?
This weekend I flashed a nightly from CM 13, the problem is still here.
What can I do ? The problem seems to be related to the radio firmware, can I downgrade the radio firmware and keep a recent android or CM13 ?
For information my baseband version is m8926_309101.02.03.14r.
I'm not sure I post my problem in the good forum but it could help other people in my situation.
If someone has an idea....
Thanks
Firstly try the Stock ROM and Radio Firmware available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/4g-development/rom-stock-motorola-4g-lollipop-rom-t3142816 - follow flashing instructions to the letter - after this you can move on to CM13 if desired.
Well I have already done that, after I tried the 4.4.4 version.
I was on 5.1 then I downgraded to 4.4.4 then got back to 5.1 then tried CM 13.

Did you fastboot flash the Radio Firmware from that thread? Commands are in FAQ.
Yes I did. I event tried to flash the 5.1 radio firmware while still having the 4.4.4 android.
The baseband version I gave in my opening post is the last one for the EU region I believe.
Other Solutions to try:
1) Change SIM card / get a new SIM
2) Fastboot flash the Stock Factory Firmware Image for your phone - http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...falcon-factory-firmware-t3110795/post64203816
Thanks, I was going to order a new sim card to try this solution.
I already flashed the latest stock firmware last week but i will try again from scratch to be sure.
Provide fastboot logs (copy and paste command prompt) when flashing the firmware image. Fastboot may not provide errors, "okay" can mean total failure.
Hi,
Just to say that there is apparently no more signal loss with the CM13 nightly from 12/11. I hope it will last.
In the end I didn't flash stock firmware.
Thanks again for your suggestions, I will come back if the problem is back.
In Sultan CM13 my phone lost signal the moment I enter Roaming, I tried toggling Aeroplane, Changing phone from 2g network to 3g & LTE, also tried to select network operator manually but nothing worked, Any suggestion would be great.
-I tried the *#*#4636#*#* to flip the gsm/lte, tried reboots, etc to no success
-I have IMEI.
-Tried configure no APN no sucess!
-Tried 100% stock via adb Kit Kat updating via ota to the lates COS 13 and still no Connection
-My SIM is detected bus has no Mobile conection ( NO SERVICE )
-Tried flash roms and diferent firmware with TWRP 2.8.6 still no Success
-Emergency call only- when I dial the emergency nunber it keeps dialing endless time and no connection is made no ring !! (Strange!!!!)
A Phone with out mobile network is not a proper phone anymore is garbish
Is there any hope to find a fix for my One :crying:

Did you tried clean flash COS12.1 or Color OS.
This usually happens due to incompatible Modem with the firmware, bootloader combination.
I also experienced similar issue sometime back using Sultan's build, which is my primary OS right now.
check this post out and the thread.

Well I did the full stock rom to cos 11 updating it until the final incremental cos 13 but no success , never tried color Os I will look! any Rom in specific ?!
Try flashing latest CyanogenOS using fastboot:
https://cyngn.com/support
And if needed modems separately.
All the best!!
I had the same issue a few months ago with CM13 builds. My TWRP recovery was the problem. Try updaing it to the newest version.

i had a similar problem after OTA update to CM13.1. So upset I just waited a few days to calm down then went on here and found how someone said sim issues sometimes just need a new sim card. so i went down to my carrier metropcs and they put in a sim adapter for one thing my sim was nano and needed to be made to fit opo micro slot. then they did a refresh and it was good as if it never happened. cost me 15 bucks but worth it compared to what i thought i was up against.
