Hi All,
I ordered the Nexus 6P in aluminium and it really reminds of Bender from Futurama. How cool would it be if we could have a skin for our phones that looked like him. Are there any graphic designers who could design something like this then maybe slick wraps can make them.
I have no design experience but I know slick wraps do custom skins so long as you have the design.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
i mean, i suppose you could but the closest you'd come is a sticker of his mouth. even then, it would be difficult to tell...

Bender is not Bender without his antenna. there was a whole episode dedicated to the antenna representing his "manhood".
Even if you could, I'm thinking it would be difficult to do something that wouldn't interfere with camera, flash, or IR Focus.

That looks nice! I haven't watched futurama in years but it brings back memories
Have one of the case manufacturers make a bumper case with Bender's antenna on the top. Good luck shoving the phone in your pocket with the antenna case.

I'm a big fan of futurama, immediately noticed how aluminum looked like bender!
But went with black so the bar would blend in more.
Would love to see this though, even if I don't have one!

Looks good, care to post a link to where you bought it?
Problem with these is that the top and bottom are not fully covered so can't see the case protecting those parts very well.

This is the one I bought, really good case for the price. Rubber back and protects all sides, just a bit of a shame with the 2 materials being different [back and sides].

I've already got one which is the same material all they way around:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BLACK-Epik-Ca...vo-/300423044647?pt=UK_Mobiles_Accessories_RL
I wanted something that was specifically thin and didn't conceal the shape and colour of the Desire.
It's the same design as Capdase's Soft Jacket 2 Xpose Tinted
I would say it's a well designed case and fits nicely in the phone without any free play

No thats a different case. That material is on the edge of the phone case that I have so it is flexible, but the main part is a plastic material so it is solid but a rubber coating so it feels like the back of the Desire rather than being smooth. Can take a picture for you tonight if you want.

How do you like the bumper?
theres an accessories forum where they belong.
Man I really wish i had access to try out a bumper - i think it will solve my creaking N4 - which now seems to be caused by the "loose" rubber/plastic trim around the phone (and it flexing between the glass layers).

Thanks for the pics!
It's a bit more elaborate than I thought it would be, the "metal" trim is a nice touch.
Combined with front and back screen protectors, this could be my ideal solution.

can u try dropping it on some different locations and see how it fairs?
3ft naked on cement it faired well. So in theory it should be better with a bumper.
could u try a kitchen floor and then maybe from a roof top? thanks

I hope when you do drop your phone, it explodes for creating a new thread when there is already a decent bumper thread..

I appreciate the photos but I think thy aren't took in good conditions and positions.
The first picture would be nice from top view, too.
The second one isn't sarp enough and the angle isn't very good, please take one fom the side and from top and roof when you attached the bumper to the phone.
The third picture is way too bright...
But thanks for the first impressions. I would be relly pleased if you could do that
Wanted to start a thread about Sony SmartWatch Bands. I feel like there is little to no info on what bands other than stock. I like the MN2 but it feels to small on my wrist with the stock band, I know you can attach any 20mm band but i'm just looking to see what other people have done already. I'm looking to make the watch feel bigger than it actually is on my wrist. In the latest press release it stats Sony if working with 3rd party band makers and hopefully we see those products soon before it's to late and the market it flooded with smartwatchs.
I'm using a metal band from an old Casio watch. Doesn't look too bad.

I'm using a 20mm NATO watch strap. I just put the strap right through the clip on the back of the watch without the metal band adapter or anything, and it works well. They're cheap and can be had in number of colors and patterns.
Im using my old Nixon "The Rocker" watch band. It fits great and looks amazing. I also had Ghost Armor put a carbon fiber skin on the sides

doesn't it slide around a bit using that? i looked at doing that but there's nothing to hold it in place. that being said, i bought it second hand and may be missing a piece(s)

I keep the watch clipped on the outer layer of the band as it forms a loop. Gripping only the one layer, it does slide around a little bit. It doesn't slide too far, as it can only move between the two metal rings as shown in the picture. Overall, I don't find that the movement bothers me much at all.

Does the skin cover the white areas of the underside of the watch? That's my one big aesthetic criticism. Sony gave the SmartWatch a nice looking black face and metallic bezel, but I'll never understand why they left the back that bright white color.

The smartwatch looks awesome with that band - my only questions for you are: Was it difficult to make the smartwatch fit to the band, did you have to make adjustments? How is the fit working now? I am interested in getting one and modifying it.
where i can find the metal adapter?
It isn't exact, I hand cut it, but it is pretty close. Cut the volume buttons out on the wrong side. Got mad, so did a pretty crap job of cutting them out on the correct side. oops. All I know is that this sucker would probably stick to a block of ice. And for the first time this phone isn't hurting my pinkie when I am holding it.

Good work, although I don't like cases as they generally make the phone look worse, this makes the phone look much worse, but probably MUCH gripper.

LOL what the...
It's actually a good idea in terms of protection without adding size but it's too ugly for me. Still, always good to see people thinking outside the box.

It really doesn't look that bad. The pics were taken with a 13w daylight sitting a couple of feet away using a six hundred dollar point and shoot. Which exaggerates how much it stands out. I'd put it up there with the gaudiness of carbon fiber or that new dragonskin stuff dbrand is pushing. Meaning I totally get where you are coming from. When I see people putting those gaudy skins on their phone, I wonder why they are compelled to buy it. Especially when they do nothing for the grip.
This though... I think you would be surprised. It gives massive confidence without adding any bulk.

That's pretty neat. Car seat fabric. Should do decent job for grip. But that one doesn't cover the sides. Hmm. Makes me want to go to Upholstery fabric shop and brainstorm.
A good effort on a difficult task.
I've been using the custom skins from dbrand (https://dbrand.com/) on my last two phones and now on the Pixel XL. These skins are precise beyond belief, so the challenge is installing it on your phone. The adhesive does allow "peel up and retry", so mostly it's just patience that's needed.
The quality is excellent and they have wide range of materials and colors to choose from. I've order black carbon fiber for my Pixel XL ($9.99) and will post a pic once its installed.
That's just it though. They don't have a wide range of materials. It's all the same thing. Vinyl sheets cut out with a laser cutter. They are all slick, and none of them are anywhere near in the same ball park as this.
Post your pics if you want. Seen em all before. Used em all too. Dbrand is a hype machine. Form over function.

From the looks of it, this itself can be used for the Watch 4 because it doesn't have any equipment in it. Just slots to put in your own stuff!
Looks like a good possibility... but someone needs to try it!

I tried it and it didn't work. The Galaxy charger dial is larger in size than Apple and this box is designed for Apple. So it didn't fit. Even by force.
Luckily I could return on Amazon and got refund.
I have used the black sided ones (so you dont even notice theyre there) since the Active 2, and now just got a set for the Watch 4.
They are the great protection and cheap..... AUD$18 for like 4 of them
Best thing to buy is the Spigen rugged armor pro casing. Doesn't add fugly trash around the watch, it creates a completely new look and is rock solid. Doing mud/obstacle runs with it and hell yes, I'm really beating it.... having some protective glass could be helpful as well, but this kind of ugly watch condom is a joke

But that sucks, right?
