Hello, I think I have bricked my phone.
It is a Samsung Galaxy A3 SM-A300M
I used the TWRP Manager app and I think I loaded the wrong recovery image for my phone.
The app said it installed the recovery succesfully then asked to reboot into recovery. I accepted and the phone rebooted but never entered recovery, it just vibrates every 2 seconds.
Now it wont show anything on the screen, just vibrates every 2 seconds
I've tried the following with no success:
1) holding volume up + power + home
2) holding volume down + power + home
3) holding volume up + power
4) holding volume down + power
5) holding power button for more than 2 minutes
In every case it just keeps vibrating
Please consider that the Samsung Galaxy A3 is a unibody model, so I can't take out the battery.
What would you say are my options?
Thanks in advance!!
P.S.: I would post this on the Samsung A series sub forum, but since I'm a new user can only post here.

Hi,
Thank you for using XDA assist
It looks like there is no dedicated forum for your device. However there is a general forum for android here http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help where you can try to ask to get the expert's help
Good luck

I've recently upgraded to ICS, and am now trying to root my newly upgraded SGS2 phone. I am stuck trying to enter the Recovery Mode. I've searched online for guides on how to root, and many individuals instruct to hold the Volume Up + Volume Down + Power button, then when the SAMSUNG logo appears, let go of the Power Button. The recovery mode menu does not appear. Can anyone help?
Have you entered download mode and flashed the custom recovery through Odin? All this info can easily be found in the all in one guide that is stickied at the top.
More info is needed. How did you upgrade? Was it a one click method?
Edit for link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1427268
Here is your link for the instructional thread. Please read this carefully. Everything you need will be on the first page. Any reason why you wish to root? Only reason I ask is because you are a new user.

Regardless of which recovery you have it has to come up.
Turn the phone off, now hold all three vol up/down and power once phone vibrates let go off power, don't wait for the logo
Heya, so my girlfriend's galaxy note Tab 10.1 is stuck at bootloop since a while, if you turn it on it keeps restarting. Its completely stock and we can't enter the recovery (idk how to), so far we tried pressing power and volume up button together and it only takes to the "downloading". How to get into recovery and factory reset?
Boot into recovery
I had a similar issue but then realised that the instructions I had been following were slightly inaccurate i.e. hold down power and volume up...... what worked for me was hold down power and volume up, when logo comes up, release power but hold on to the volume.
lets know if you already tried that.

As a curious newbie I went into downloading mode in my Samsung Galaxy S3 by pressing Vol down+center Home+power button. After that I got options to press Vol up key to continue and Vol down key to cancel. Out of sheer curiosity and thinking I can exit anytime I pressed Vol up key and the very infamous "downloading do not turn off" screen sits with the green Android logo.i turned it of and it never came back on

Hi!
I’ve ran into a weird scenario. I have the Galaxy S6 G920V, I received the official 6.0.1 update, upon installing it my phone entered a boot loop.
I can reach the download menu (home + power + volume down), I also can reach the Maintenance Boot Mode menu (Holding the power button + volume down), but I can’t reach the recovery mode (home + power + volume up).
Any idea?
Thanks in advance!
Hey did you ever get this figured out? I have the same problem!!

Just in case you missed something it takes a while to load the recovery menu. So I FIRST press and hold the Volume Up and Home Key and then hold the power button for 20 seconds and then you will see the Samsung logo and it will say its installing some update and then it says failed and it goes to the recovery menu. So it take about two to three minutes.
I have the same problem. I did a erase and reset in the recovery menu, factory reset in the maintenance menu but it did not help. My phone continues to go to the boot loop. It happen a few days after the new Android update. I am scared to load the Verizon stock using ODIN because my phone is still covered under warranty and I dont want to even take a 1% chance of voiding the warranty

Use Odin. It should not void warranty. I have never had a warranty issue with Odin over the last few phones.
full stock, unrooted, GT-P5110
... connect to odin (3.12 PC)-> uncheck auto reboot -> install twrp -> PASS -> unplug cable from usb
but all I seem to be able to do is reboot into system.
I :-
hold power button for 1 sec, 2 secs, 3 sec.... trying to just turn it off (instead of reboot)
hold vol down + power button,
hold power button + tap volume down,
just hold vol down,
tap power button (does nothing), only long press restarts.
hold power button till screen goes black and then hold vol down + tap pwr button
hold power button till screen goes black and then hold vol down + hold pwr button
hold power button till screen goes black and then hold vol down on its own
search forum
pull hair out
type this
each time reinstalling twrp
any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
thanks
To reboot to recovery you need to hold volume UP + power.

well that's strange, as, on my device, from off:
Volume UP + power takes me to download mode... I have done this several times and it asks me to confirm by then pressing down.
AND, from off
Volume DOWN + power takes me to recovery.
and doing a search, via google and xda all agree with me.
.. but thanks
I never said I couldn't get into recovery... I cannot get from odin into recovery without it first rebooting and therefore wiping my flash.
edit: So I tried it anyway, and got back into download mode, which in a way is kinda good news as, my logic, if I can get back into download mode from a reboot then I should be able to get into recovery from a reboot.
Same same but slightly different

I am having the exact same problems and tried exactly the same things. I am just not able to install twrp because of this. ( I read that it overwrites the recovery with the stock one when you are not going straight into recovery mode after installation) I am stuck at the “Samsung Galaxy note 10.1” screen if try to go straight into recovery.
What is strange though is that with my device: VOLDown (towards the power button) + Power button takes me to download mode and the other combination supposedly to the recovery mode.
This is so frustrating. Done this so many times with other devices but this one just does not give up… I just want to get rid of all bloatware and other crap…..

I've given up, for now, tried every combination I could think... I have a sneaky feeling it must be rooted first. It is the only thing I haven't tried doing.

I am currently doing just that! Using the files from autoroot . chainfire . eu (can not post links yet haha) . I will let you know how it went!
UPDATE:
It worked! I rooted my device first. After that I flashed my recovery via the TWRP app. I also must say that my device is the GT-N8010 (p4notewifixx). I got confused of all the different models. Still I think it will work with your model aswell! Good luck!
