What is clean install & dirty install ?????? - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

ANYONE CAN SUGGEST ME?? WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE OF FLASHING THE CLEAN INSTALL??

If you mean flashing a new ROM than a clean install is to do a factory reset before you flash the ROM.
If this not your answer be more specific

be advised

well first of all be advised what i am going to share is dangerous for newbies so do not held me responsible for any damage to your phone because i am just giving answer to your question
Dirty install means like this phone>bootloader unlocked>rooted>twrp recovery>wipe>factory reset which includes wipes data, cache, dalvil>install new custom zip and gapps zip>reboot and wait
BEFORE CLEAN INSTALL CHARGE UR PHONE TO FULL AS THERE WILL BE NO OS AND U MUST USB FLASH AND OTG CABLE AND YOUR PHONE MUST SUPPORT OTG

ICS-4.x-Audiophile Q&A

any question is in here right? haha
What version of CWM recovery is in this? Maybe raver or someone who's flashed this can tell me.
Sent from my SGH-T959V
It uses TWRP as the thread title states.
Nice work Raver!
For those not familiar with the Aroma installer, there are some good options in the "Advanced" screen. For example, I don't know if Audiophile ICS preserves /data by default when flashing. Aroma lets you back it up during the install process.
If you have a modem that you prefer to the KJ6 modem that is bundled with this ROM, you may want to use the Advanced settings to disable the modem flash.
Additionally, TWRP will let you stack zips, so you can, for example, flash in one pass:
ROM
gapps
Your own modifications in a zip
Kudos to Raver for not packaging gapps and obeying the licensing requirements imposed by Google.

you can just install if you want to keep anything do the custom install and then click backup data/restore data so it keeps your files in tact ... it will auto format system data cache for you
you will need to download a gapps package do to the fact i cannot include it in the rom itself i dont have a link for one but i think there is one floating around here.
ok i went to install the rom and my phone just resets
check md5 of your download if it matches try a reflash.

Definitely a fun ROM!
I just noticed that Droid48 doesn't scale well to the "mini-tablet" format, but that is likely an app problem, not a ROM problem. Still totally usable, just funny to see the little calculator buttons and labels.
SuperUser didn't update properly for me through Play -- I'll see if I can reproduce later on.

How to flash Mi4c weekly ROM using TWRP?

The European Mi4c weekly ROM was released today, and according to the website I should flash the ROM using TWRP. I've managed to root and install TWRP on my phone, but what next? There weren't really any clear instructions over there, and I've never done any of this before and so I don't wanna risk bricking my phone.
So, how do I install the ROM? Do I need to wipe my caches or do a factory reset? Where do I place the ROM for installation?
Thanks guys. Sorry for such an obvious question.

Marshmallow on Nexus 4

Hello! I have watched your Youtube video Of Marshmallow running on Nexus 4. I want some assistance from your side. I have a rooted Nexus 4 and I also want to install Marshmallow on my nexus 4. I have downloaded the Frank N4 rom and the google apps as provided from the link in your video description. Both are zip files of 201Mb and 199 Mb respectively. So how can I install that rom and Gapps? Please help. I have copied both the zip files to my Phone.
Can I now turn my phone in to recovery mode and then flash the rom and then Gapps?
Or what is the recommended way? Please help me.

2. boot into recovery
3. wipe data, cache, and dalvic cache in advanced wiping options (note all data, pics etc will be lost)
4. install rom and gapps using the install tab
5. reboot

i dont use flashify, but i think you just pick the one you want, then click install.
if you want more clarification on how to install it properly, im sure there is a twrp thread in the n4 forum which will provide instructions to install it.
I have copied the frank-mako rom(201mb) and Banks-Gapps6(199mb) zip files in my nexus 4 along with the TWRP-2.8.7.0-Mako.img(8.82mb).
Now what steps should I take to update my Nexus 4 to Marshmallow? Please help me. Thanks in Advance
Go on to flaah recovery and then clean flash rom and reboot. After reboot dont do anything just switch off and boot onto recovery and flaah gapps and then do a normal bootto use rom and enjoy.

we have been helping you, but if you have the twrp img on the phone and didnt install it already, you are not listening.
good luck with getting it setup, i for 1 will not continue to help when you dont or cant follow direction.
Spend a few days researching before you end up with a brick. This is not a support site.

while i agree people need to learn how to do it the right way, i am well versed in adb and fastboot, but i have use wugs forever and never had an issue.
i have to believe most of the problems come from user error, which the same could be said for manual installs. wug makes a solid tool and has put a ridiculous amount of work into it.
however, im not sure if it can install a custom rom, regardless, if you cant flash a zip without a tool, you shouldnt be modding anything, i def agree with that

You do not need to be rooted in order to flash a custom ROM, however you would need to have a custom recovery ( I would recommend using TWRP, but the CyanogenMod recovery works just fine )

Sorry I didn't get to you sooner, but what you have to wipe is dalvik/ART cache, cache, system, and data partitions. Don't wipe anything else. That should work. If you still run into what you ran into before, a boot loop, then that must ultimately mean that this version of the CyanogenMod is incompatible with your variant of the HTC One A9... and that's only if you still run into it after wiping the partitions I listed up above... and don't worry about asking so many questions, it's no problem. Good luck

[ROM] MoKee [71.2] OFFICIAL HIMAUL[5-01-17]

Hello Guys i recently i found an official supported rom for hima ul on mokee webiste would like to share it here. The rom is based on android 7.1.2 It is fully stable and can be used as a daily driver
UPDATE: 2017-5-1
Rom has been updated to nougat
Download
IF YOU HAVE STATUS 6 OR 7 ERROR IN TWRP NOTE: open the downloaded rom zip and open the following file located in
x.zip/META-INF/com/google/android/update-script
and remove the following line to avoid errors in TWRP
"Assert(hima.verify_sbl1("1.2.50.1.36") == "1");"
happy flashing :good:
I tried this rom and loved it. But after some weeks my phone only show black screen and does not reboot. Don't know if mokee causes the failure. Or if it was a hardware issue. I think the second.
I got a brandnew m9 phone and use another nougat rom.
And yes. Mokee 60.1 is Android 6 and cam works.

Same here. I used it some time ago. So I cannot show screenshots.
Give it a try. Make a nandroid backup before, so you can switch back easily, if you don't like mokee.
Advice for you: I had to make changes in updater script before flashing. Without that, twrp gets error by me. Look in Slim7 Rom thread. There is described how to change updater script. You have to delete some words in it.

You have to try. Perhaps you must not change anything.
Some users have to make changes.
The updater-script is located in /META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script. Look at Slim7 Thread here on xda. There are posting to that.
I did not had to add or remove anything to flash this rom, think it is not for all phone models like that,do some research about it before u post to op...
