Me and my wife got the note 5's at rhe same time. Hers fails to send text messages constantly, update profile and they work for a second or two but then same thing. Contacted sprint and they reset the network and ok for a few sec and issues again. Anyone have this issue? Anyone have suggestions of a fix?

How come when I turn my phone off, people I have been texting will receive messages from me that they have already sent? Sometimes it will be 15 messages at a time. And they aren't messages that werwnt sent before because they come up as sent on my phone and the person also receives them. It typically happens when I turn my phone off, and the people I text the most will receive the most messages. Any ideas? And how can I fix it?

What network are you on, are you rooted, and are you using a particular ROM?
Has this always happened?

I'm on T-Mobile, and no I am not rooted and not on a custom Rom. Im not exactly sure if it has been happening since I got the phone but it has been happening for a good amount of time now

Do you receive notification that the duplicate messages have been sent? Or can you see the message duplicates from your sent messages (seeing the same message more than once)? Finally, are the messages duplicating the same message, or a series of different messages?
Edit: I would call T-Mobile and have them perform an over the air activation to re-establish your tower connection completely. If that doesnt work then have tech support file a ticket. It sounds like your messages are getting "stuck" on the network. Since tickets take 2-3 days to resolve, go ahead and get it started. I dealt with this a lot at my previous job (AT&T), mostly with MMS though.

No i do not receive notifications but i can see the duplicates from my sent messages. And the duplicates will be several different messages, typically the more recent messages

Are you using the stock messaging app, or a 3rd party app?

Hi, I'm bringing this thread back to life because my girlfriends phone is doing the exact same thing. cmrn89, did Biohazard0289's suggestion fix the issue?
Thanks.
So I'm having a issue with texts. When I go to send s text it takes longer than normal to send most of the time. On both T-Mobile and att! And with att I have an microcell so its not an coverage issue. I'm afraid I might miss texts last night I had to reboot my phone before I could get or send a text.

Disable What? Enable text msg app? You mean a 3rd party texting app? Same thing.
Factory reset too. Does the same on a 32gb Nexus 5 as well.
A friend told me that he called me a few times, but I dont have any missed calls in my call history. Then I googled and found this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OurDvZlHC3E
This is very serious bug, due to my work I cant skip incoming calls. Does anyone know if this happens only on LTE? Because if it does, I will disable it. I hope Google will soon fix this bug..
Thanx

Very weird. I never noticed that. I get calls at work where I'm on 4G (T-Mobile). Is it all the time no matter what if you're on 4G that you miss calls or just sometimes? That's actually a huge bug... Wow.
There is article on Android police about this issue:

IMO this is very serious bug and Google should urgently fix it.

dial *#*#4636#*#*, press phone info, if your network is set to lte only, you will not get any phone calls. phone calls do not work iver lte on the n5. it needs to be set to lte/gsm.

but the video shows when he called himself, theres ringtone.. so its not in LTE only mode, which was my point..
he was using GV, so maybe it wasnt setup properly
This happened to me few times. Also anyone else ever encounter where the phone will ring, but no dialer or option to pick up the phone call? The notification will show incoming at the top and it rings.

Thank you all for your patience as our team has been investigating this issue.
I checked and I have set LTE/GSM auto. I tried to call myself a few times from other phone and Nexus showed incoming call. So looks like this bug appear from time to time.
To "make sure" I will get all incoming calls, I have disabled LTE and I will restart phone every morning.

Running with the latest update on AT&T. Whenever a picture comes in, it comes in from "unknown caller" rather than in the texts from the person it's actually coming from. Happens in Google Messages and the Huawei app. Is there a setting I'm missing?
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
I had the same issue, I delete all the conversations it sorted itself out for me when new ones came in.
Just got rid of Google messages and went with the Huawei app. Fixed the issue

Since upgrading to Oreo on Google store pixel running on Verizon I've had a lot more text messages fail to send then normal. On top of that they send 4-10 of the same message. It happens with Textra and stock messaging. Chatting with Google support they had me uninstall the updates for the stock messaging app and clear cache and I still have the issue. They suggested a warranty replacement. Anyone else run into this issue?

I've been using Hangouts using Google Fi and haven't had any issues at all. I'm sending most of my messages through the Hangouts browser, however.
I have a replacement device coming tomorrow. We will see if the same issue occurs. I'm tired of people yelling at me. Lol

Lots of people are having texting issues, most articles point to Verizon, but not all. Have you gotten any resolution? My wife's pixel just lost texting functions with Oreo....
