Unlocked ROM on Verizon S6 ? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6

Hey Guys ! ,
I have been trying to make my t-mobile sim work properly on my verizon S6 as I changed providers and dont want to pay for the new phone. Fortunately in my area I get 4gLTE for Tmobile so I dont need to, but there are couple of issues which I want to resolve, namely
1. Wifi Calling - I need wifi-calling feature enabled which I know is provided in almost all variants of S6 besides verizon model.
2. Standby battery drain - I have noticed that this phone has significant cell stand drain.
To alleviate the issues I want to flash a custom rom (unified rom) which is for a unlocked/tmobile/gsm model on this phone. I am wondering if there is a way to do it as I couldn't find anything with a simple search on the forum. Pl help me out !
Thanks in advance !
Cheers !!!

If you have root there is a limited amount of custom Roms that you could install. However there is absolutely no way you can install a ROM based on any other model. For example, if you wanted to install a tmobile ROM installation would fail spectacularly, but if you wanted to install cleanROM you would be as good as gold.

Can I get this to work on T-Mobile?

Hello guys, I just bought a Fuze on ebay, locked to AT&T of course. But I have T-Mobile. I have already payed the person who will unlock it for me. But if I then install a new ROM will it still work with T-Mo? and what is a Radio? I saw it has been mentioned here quite often.
Sorry for being a noob

about Radio most roms comes with one installed already i suggest to get use to flashing new roms and from there you will understand more about Radio.Good luck.
Yes
Yes U can I flash several times a week using a T-mobile USA phone plan and so far Radio wise I get the best performance from 1.12.25.19. The latest one isn't bad either it depends where you live and some other stuff I can't really explain. I stay in Houston area incase that helps. Radio as to do with how your phone handles signal like gps etc. I suggest you read allot of threads to understand more things, be confident with what your doing before you flash
Hi Ali
As suggested by gguy- the radio is the part of the phone that communicates with the mobile phone network (and gps satelites). It is not a direct reference to the FM radio function.
Try to find a new radio based upon recommendations from others on the same carrier as you.
The quality of signal strength varies from one radio to another, what suits me might not suit you. It is worth noting that the radio will also have an impact on battery life as a weak signal will drain the battery faster.
On a locked phone you will only be able to use rapheal radios, if you unlock your phone you will be free to use the radios from some other phones.
Updating the radio leaves the rom as is and thus will not delete your files.

Sprint CDMA 3G ROM's

I've been reading through all these threads for a few days now and I have some questions about flashing my USA Sprint Touch Pro 2.
I don't see a ROM to flash back to OEM for the US, is this true?
I'm sure I'll run across this as i read, but if i flash my phone with a new ROM what do i need to do to get the phone working with my network again or does flashing not affect this? Do i program it just like i did before?
Will i still be able to get my Exchange e-mail?
I believe I read a few things about 3G not functioning with certain ROM's. If so are there any ROM's that support 3G?
I'm ready to bite the bullet, but I was wondering about the above.
I had similar concerns. I can tell you that there are ways to backup your ROM before re-flashing. That out of the way I have not looked back. Windows mobile 6.5 has improved the device reliablity and speed at least 40 percent. I have not had a single lockup since I flashed it. I am using the MightyROM and the only thing it does not do that the orginial Sprint flash does is the auto speakerphone and the screen off when you put a call to your ear. Beyond that it's packed with features and very stable. Including improved battery life.
I am on Sprint and have a custom rom. My 3G works without issues. You may have to install a Sprint specific provisioning cab to get it working properly. (Here is one for example)
Here is the Sprint Stock Rom it is an .exe file, so nice and simple to reinstall the stock rom.

(There are serveral Stickies on how to do this.

[Q] Any ways to flash P6200 european firmware to Unlocked T869?

Ok can anyone help me?
I have Rooted unlocked T869(it was for Tmobile but after unlocked i use it with ATT Simcard). I would love to have phone call capability(non of thos VOIP crap, just oem phone call).
I was wondering if anyone know how to flash european firmware(probably P6200 because it has similar 3g4g capabilty) to T869(tmobile version with 4g but no phone application). I think the two are similar so can anyone help me with this project?
Maybe some written guide, european firmware download link that can be safely flashed to T869?
Or maybe phone dialer apk for rooted tablet?
Thank you in advance.
Same question here, it is possible ?
Thanks,
Mike
this has been answered moe than a few times. tmobile variant doesnt have correct hardware and modem doesnt support voice(out of the box anyway).
flashing a p6200 firmware will likely cause tremendous problems. Like more than just ODIN'ing back to stock.
please be warned.
On another note, I highly recommend selling your tab and getting a p6200 w/voice & hspa+ I love it.
cool characteristic not mentioned very often, it an android smartphone with no soft buttons! very light and smooth and no need to worry about battery. excellent purchase. Can not say how it will work on tmobile though. If you have an unlimited plan you may be allright.

Are you sure it's not a confusion ? We talk about SGH-T869 ( Tmobile variant of P6200 - 7.0 Plus ) not old Galaxy Tab 7.0 ( P1000 )
Thanks,
Mike
1000% sure. Like the previous answer already explains the name of the device is the same but the internal hardware is different. The radio uses a different band and flashing the p6200 firmware over a th869 will for sure cause a brick
P_
So p6200 is same as T-Mobile but unlike tmobiles it could do voice?
Could it do us tmobike 3g as well?

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
any news on this?

[In Progress] Does the latest t-mobile update work on ATT G2 modified for t-mobile?

I recently bought a used ATT LG G2. I installed Novembre5's modified version of the T-Mobile rom to allow wifi calling - it works great.
Today I got an alert from T-Mobile saying "System update downloaded". I wonder if it is safe to install this? If I install it, will I lose the wifi calling (which is very important for me)?
I imagine there must be other people facing the same problem.
Thanks for any input -
David
Well your best bet is to register and ask your question here and wait for one of the experts in that area to get back to you
Good luck

Custom ROM with VO WiFi...

I have tried to search through the forums looking for custom ROM's that support Voice Over WiFi (not VoIP like Hangouts etc) to no avail . I am sure there would have to be separate builds (one for AT&T, one for T-Mobile etc etc) so it might be a bit much to ask but wanted to make sure before I gave up on it !
Thanks in advance...
VoWiFi isn't really a feature that custom ROMs come with or without.
Basically if the phone's original firmware comes with it, then the custom ROM will have it.
But - it has dependencies. For example, on Samsung devices, it depends on you having the correct CSC, which is a region related file. This contains things that enable VoWiFi, VoLTE etc.
What phone do you have?

What I have is a pos iCrap 6 , it's a temp phone because I accidentally stepped on my Nexus 6 to end it's days . I am looking for my next droid and am impressed with the spec's of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 and the Ulefone T1. In either case I would look at a custom ROM if available. Unfortunately I am limited to AT&T or Verizon here, Sprint is meh for coverage (absolute 0 bars anywhere in or around the house and for 1/2 mile) and T-Mobile is worse, so that leaves me with the 2 hardest to get VoWiFi working unless you use their phones... More then likely going to have to go the route of in home signal amplifier to bring the signal to the basement.
Thanks for the reply, have not done a custom ROM for sometime so wasn't sure where the VoWiFi came from.
