I ask this because I have Debloated my ROM and since doing so can no longer see my phone on my computer.
The phone says it is connected when plugged in, just doesn't show up on my PC anywhere.
No, I don't think it's driver related at all as it works when ROM is first installed then when I debloat it stops working.

I'm on Open Your Eyes VRBLK3,with rooted & Unlocked Bootloader. I was going to flash a ROM so I made a nandroid, etc. I went to transfer the ROM from my PC to my SD card via USB but when I plug in my phone it makes the noises windows makes for USB devices, my device shows the USB symbol in the pull down and says "Connected as an Installer". When I touch for more options they are Media Device (MTP) or Camera (PTP) and my device doesn't appear as a drive like it always has in the past.
What am I missing?
Thanks
Did you try Samsungs newest driver? I randomly get problems with usb connecting too. Usually after I flash a non stock kernel it kills usb working right for me. On windows 8 and 7

Hello everybody.
I need to know how to disable the multi user interface in my note 10.1 rooted with pacman rom in jelly bean 4.3.
It is always duplicating the files that I put in it.
For example, if I put the NFS most wanted data files in the android/data folder it gets repeated three or four times in other folders.
If I put it in the emulated/0 folder it gets duplicated and it is present in storage and media and some other folder.
Hence the approx 1 GB file becomes 3-4 GB.
I'm guessing this is due to the multi user interface.
Also I have another problem
The USB connection isn't working.
If I plug it into the pc it doesn't show upon my computer but it charges.
If I out it in USB debugging mode the PC makes the connected sound but I still can't access the folders.
I need help.

Have you installed the Samsung USB drivers ???

Yes I have installed the USB drivers
Its not even working on another computer.
Any idea about the multi user?
:victory:I got both of them to work.
I disabled multi user by tying
fw.max_users 0
in terminal emulator, and made it permanent by typing fw.max_users=0 in the ending of build.prop.
i got the usb to work when i removed pacman and installed official cyanogenmod.

I was moving some pictures from my phone to my computer today, and windows explorer stopped working when it was almost done.
I started windows explorer again and selected the memory of my phone and it was loading really long (longer then the first time).
So I plugged the phone out of the computer (without ejecting it) and now my computer doesn't recognize my phone anymore .
(the computer does recognize the phone, and it will charge so the cable works, but it fails to install a driver for my device)
I already tried this:
Rebooting my phone and computer.
Using another USB port.
Checking if my settings on the phone where correct.
Plugging the phone into my brothers computer and that worked (so the problem is with my computer, not my phone).
Uninstalling the drivers of my phone by going to my Device Manager. (I uninstalled MTP USB-device, under Portable Devices)
I tried to update my drivers (MTP USB-device) and I clicked browse my computer, let me pick, ok.
Could someone please help me?
Hi there!
I used to be able to connect my OPO to my W7 PC. Now I cannot. My OPO original cable is out of service so I have been using a samsung charger and it has worked fine before. Plug in, popup shows, and I can access MTP files. I am aware charge is default and when connect you have to select MTP. But now it isn't even charging.
Ever since I updated to Lineage Marshmallow, I cannot do it. I was able to do it on my work laptop (W10) but on my home PC (W7), cannot anymore. So not sure what I am missing. The same cable is used for both.
-Have Root with usb debug on
-google universal driver installed
-pic of device manager below but cannot browse my phone to install (not recognized)

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Install mtp drivers(http://www.driverscape.com/download/android-mtp) and update the unknown device with those drivers.
You should always use original cable btw.

I just rooted my s8+ with partcyborg's samfail and everything is working great except the usb isn't being recognized. I can see my phone on my computer and I can move files to my desktop but on my phone I get this message - "The connected device is unable to access data on this device. Reconnect the USB cable and try again." I have USB debugging enabled in settings. I'm using windows 10. ADB is up to date. I installed the samsung USB drivers. The device isn't recognized in kies or smart switch.
I'm at a total loss here. Any ideas? Could this be related to the 80% battery bug I was seeing? It's been at 80% for a while now.
Apologies if this is an obvious fix. I haven't rooted a phone since kitkat I looked around but the other threads weren't helpful.

So what do you wanna do with your USB connection? Just MTP (e.g. transfer files like you would when connecting a USB-Stick to PC) or you wanna do some ADB operations?
If you just want to transfer files, there's no need to have USB-Debugging enabled (in fact this is kind of a security risk when you connect to an unknown pc)

Yeah I've been trying to use drivedroid but it says there are issues with the mass storage. I'm going to send the dev a message with the ROM and see if there's anything he can do. For now just gonna flash back to stock

I'm sure he has looked into it. I talk to him quite a bit now that I think about it I have not heard nothing about it
