Will i get future ota update if i downgrade my lolipop phone to KitKat? Thanks in advance
Sent from my Aqua Speed using XDA Free mobile app
Hi. I think that once you downgrade your phone to KitKat you'll be prompted to install the Lollipop update again.
If a newer update will be released after the Lollipop one you won't be able to get it until you get the Lollipop update installed again.
Basically you can't skip an update.
You have to install them in the order they are prompted.

If you are rooted and have a custom recovery, don't install an ota update, because there is a high chance that you may hard brick your device. Install anything only from recovery.
Am not rooted nor using a custom recovery

Have you already downgraded to kitkat??
To force the update, if I'm not wrong, you have to go to Settings > Apps (or Applications) and select show All. Then find Google Services Framework and click the Clear Data button. Then click the Force Stop button.
And then check for updates, sometimes you have to clear the data until the update is not prompted.
The only cons is that sometimes the play store after the data clear of Google services can't install any apps and you have to remove and add the Google account.

Hey folks:
I use MyBackupPro as my maintenance tool. Upgrading to my N5 from my N4 MyBackupPro overwrote the stock launcher, causing OK Google to stop working.
Is there any way to get NOWs listener working again without doing a factory reset and/or installing the Factory Image?
I'm stock, and not rooted.
Thanks.

You didn't tell us which 4.4 version you have, but these links will help you man. I recommend trying the first link first and if it don't work, try the second link( I'm sure the first one will work).

Yeah, HOME only shows in settings/apps NOT in root settings. Therefore that selection isn't available.
PS 4.4.2 KitKat version

Unfortunately installation didn't solve the problem. Must be a preference turned off somewhere.

I don't know much on this topic but I think simply flashing a 5.0 gapps package would work

you could unzip the gapps and move the apps manually into the system apps folder, fix permissions, then reboot. dont try to install, system apps install themselves on reboot.
im thinking, some will work and some may not. i believe for some of the apps, there are other files the gapps install, you should see them in the gapps package, but i dont know where they need to be placed. maybe you can look at other apps to find similar files and place the new ones in the appropriate places.
i would make sure you have some way to recover your phone first. you just never know what might happen when dropping non native things into the system.

have framework, think it might be a permission issue but not sure
if flashfire would work would be more simple but it doesnt recognize kingroot
and supersu can't get the bineris updated

Kingroot prevents supersu from doing so.... Well why don't you try to push the files manually now as it looks the only way available currently
Today I decided to go back to stock. And so I did and the i rooted.
But i inatalled GMusicFS and it says i don't have root, even having SuperSU and other APPs say I have. Can anybody help me with that?
Personally I think it's an issue with the app. It does not appear it's been updated for marshmallow.

Hi guys, after updating to the software version B394, the phone forces me to update this app that I did not have before (and I do not want to install it anymore). There is a way to remove it?

Sorry forgot to mention, when you go to apps in settings, you need to click more and select show system processes
Hey, I was wondering if there is a way to disable/uninstall system apps without root. In this specific case, I would like to remove YouTube and Google Duo, however, I tried to disable + force stop the apps but they reappear after a while. Next I tried to disable them via ADB but even then they reappeared like nothing happened.
I'm currently using a OnePlus 7 Pro on the latest OOS, I rather not root the phone just yet. As I don't want to void my UK warranty.
Any suggestions would be welcome
