I've got a 1st Generation Moto G LTE and flip case. I've noticed that when I close the flip case, the phone doesn't sleep, nor will it resume when I open the case again.
I've done an experiment using the magnetic part of a Nexus 7 case, holding it next to the phone to see if it will turn on/off. Nothing seems to happen. I've tried the same thing with t Moto G 2nd Gen (non-LTE) and it behaves correctly.
Should magnetic sleep/resume work on my phone? And if so, is there a software setting I need to change? It's running factory-fresh Android 4.4 (but with all the play store updates).
Hi, I have in family 3 Moto G LTE 1st generation, one with original Motorola flip case (the one that has also the back cover to substitute) and the other with a compatible one.
Only the original Motorola put in sleep/wake up the phone...
Maybe the new back cover of the original moto case switch something in software ?

I have been trying various ROM's on my wife's Moto G. But none of then correctly sense the Motorola Flip cover. All ROM's turn on the phone ON when the cover is opened,but none turn the Moto G OFF when the cover is closed.
Can this be added to a "TODO" list, or is there a way that I can add this functionality myself?

Just wondering if anyone has experienced the dramatic battery drain, which I've read about after 4.4.4 upgrade?
This little Moto is nearly 20hrs up, and still has 36%...
I myself have had no dramatic drain on my battery, I did however ignore 4.4.3 and stayed with 4.4.2 as I read this upgrade had caused network issues.
I'm on my 2nd Moto G (good specs for budget cost) the Gorilla Glass smashed on 1st device.
Would be very grateful if anyone has replaced a Moto G screen?
As I believe there bonded onto the LCD touch panel.

Also, I always find that it's best to factory reset the phone after updating (others will disagree) as I think they always get bogged down and need a full clean to revert to perfect functionality

I'll give it a watch, and I think I'll order a screen, don't think anymore than, say £25 (I see some include the LCD touch panel and digitizer for a little extra maybe + £10, however I'm not sure I need these?)
as all is working though the smashed glass.

I just got my Note PRO 12.2 (P900, EU) last week and bought the corresponding cover for it (http://www.amazon.de/Supremery-Samsung-Galaxy-Tasche-Tablet-PC/dp/B00JFRNEL6/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t).
While the article description states it should have the function to auto wake/sleep my device, this doesn't work. While a friend of mine got a Note 10.1 2014 with the same case (in the corresponding size, duh.) and the function is working. I also tried to hold his smaller case near the "Samsung" Logo and all other edges, but nothing worked.
Now the question would be: I'm sure there is no option so that it's turned off, right? Is the case faulty or is there any chance I have to send back my device? Also I'm running the Stock ROM with the newest update that I got yesterday.
Edit: Just got a new thought: I don't own the 905, so therefore there is no proximity sensor on my device.. Or is it working magnetically with all those "smart covers"?
Magnetic sensor . . about 1.5 inches to the right of the G in the Samsung logo at the top, and about 0.75 inches below the G.
Try it with another magnet and see if you can get things to work. As far as I know the only case/cover related settings are found in Settings - General - Accessory - Book Cover. On my tablet there is no setting to disable the magnetic sensor however.
Hello, Motorola is offering me to choose between the Moto X 2014 and the Droid Turbo as a replacement for my Moto X 2013 that has once again, developed the known hairline cracks on sides of back panel.
I want to go with the turbo due to specs and battery, but I'm reading about many people having cracked screens without valid reasons, like the screen doesn't sit right and it cracks easily.
The only downside to this offer from motorola, is that they are not going to provide me a bootloader unlock code for either option...
I tried to have them offer me the Nexus 6 but they said that option is not available...
What would you choose?
Is simply getting a new back panel not an option? Or even just a skin (or case) so you don't see the cracks. Yeah, I know it'd be cool to get a free new phone and all (Droid Turbo would be the obvious choice), but if the unlocked bootloader is what's important to you, then maybe stick with the old one?
Hi my moto 3 is damaged I'm thinking of replacing with moto g turbo I assume it will work on UK networks but wondering the flip shell case I have will fit the new phone anyone able to help confirm if they do?
If nobody can confirm, check out the phone sizes on the internet and compare if they are (at least almost) the same. But I think it should work.
I have an Osprey, and my friend has a Merlin
(Turbo edition). The phones are identical in size and we can swap our back panels easily.
We don't use flip shells but as the size and shape is identical, I don't see why it wouldn't fit.
