So I have a galaxy tab running on android 4.4.2
I need to be able to have a microphone plugged in using 3.5mm but still output to my bluetooth speakers. Is there a way to do this without rooting the device?
This tablet will be used to make Skype calls on a factory floor, so there are not any native bluetooth microphones that I can use that will keep the sound pollution out.
I can connect the speaker using 3.5mm as well (I have the y-splitter) but the higher-ups really want the speaker to be running on bluetooth.

I read something about bluetooth isues here: [Q] Problem with Bluetooth headphones and YouTube buffering by CallistoRising.
But it's not exactly what you described.
Best to ask in the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum.
There you should get best answers from users having the same device.
Good luck !

Is it possible for skmeone to make an app thag will let you use
The new ps3 wireless headset. As headphones and mic on the phones?
That would be so awesome
anybody??? it would be awesome
I cant beleive nobody is even interested in this
I am! Would be great to have an android app that pairs the phone to ps3 so you can use it as a wireless headset while gaming. cant believe it hasnt been developed yet!
Heres some more info for you and the reason why it cant be done.

Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Tha would be kool to but thats not what i want lol..
I want to use the headset as a headset for my phone
so i can walk around listening to music, and be able to answer calls with the built in mic.. lol
I would also be interested in being able to use the new ps3 wireless headphones with my android. Im sure it must be possible to write a driver/app that could use the USB dongle through USB host adapter or something like that?
I would love if one of the devs makes the wireless headset to work on the sgs2, although i see that might never happen
Someone make it happen!!!
Mic + Phone works on galaxy note
I used viber with ps3 headphone and it worked with galaxy note 10.1 and galaxy note ii.
On galaxy note ii, i just needed to use an otg micro usb cable.
On galaxy note 10.1, a usb hub with external power supply was necessary.
Both devices have jelly bean 4.1.2
mic doesn't work

I think i was wrong about the mic. I might have heard the voice captured by the device speakers. I think the mic doesn't work on android.
Although it works as a headphone, not all apps use the headphone as output, like skype.
Has anyone else tested this headset on other devices?
Resurrecting the thread.
I'm using a ps3 headset perfectly with my galaxy s6, with an otg micro usb cable.
hey guys, im thinking of buying a note 10.1 but really need to have a line in to record audio, does the note support this?
thanks, andy
No line in, just the built-in microphone, or from the headphones with mic., but I doubt that it will take a stereo signal from other device through that jack.

Yes. It does. Kind of. The headphone jack has a microphone in - you need a four pin to two three pin converter:

But that gives you mono input.
A better solution: you can attach a USB Audio device to it and it will become the default audio in/out.

I've tested it with a generic C-Audio USB dongle like this and it works fine.
thanks for the info. interesting how many random usb devices work with android
Hi everybody, after some unsuccessful searches on google i'm trying here i hope someone will help me to find a solution. I have the infuse with jelly bean liquid smooth rom everything runs good, from a couple of days i'm thinking that i would like to listen to my music with a speaker or something in order to have louder effect. i already have awesome beats so my audio it's better but the speaker of the phone can't compare with a docking station or a bigger speaker. So here my questions:
1. I found the docking station on amazon designed for the samsung infuse it's very nice but does that play audio or not! it charges the phone but has any speaker integrated or not?
2. I have an hp portable speaker can i connect it to my phone or not? the problem is that i need an adapter cause the cable of the speaker is not compatible with the phone. is any adapter that will able me to connect phone to speaker? The speaker model is WN483AA HP Portable Speaker, what kind of adapter I need?
If you can help me thanks in advance to xda and everybody xda the best!!!!
sorry for any mistakes working on my english everyday
The docking station for Infuse does not have a speaker. It has a 3.5 mm jack ( same size as on phone ) to plug a speaker into.
I looked at the HP speaker you have and can not come up with an adapter that can be used.
I googled and found this:

A few other similar things googling MobiAir smartphone dock
I'm sure you can find more.
Hey guys,
I am having trouble connecting my Galaxy Note 10.1 and my bluetooth JBL onawake speakers.
They pair and connect but when I play music it doesn’t come through the speakers. It is definately paired as when they are connected the sound doesn’t come through the speakers of my Galaxy unless i disconnect the bluetooth.
I haven’t found any similar problems in other threads or troubleshooting so any help would be appreciated!
Greetings, XDA.
What I am aiming for is using one android device (phone) for plugging in my headphones (3.5mm jack) and being able to use them as wifi or bluetooth headphones. I use an android tablet that unfortunately has a damaged 3.5mm jack and I don't have the money to spend for repairs since its warranty has expired. I want to be able to send ANY and ALL sound including sound from like say an android game from said tablet to the phone that has the earphones plugged in. Is there ANY way to accomplish this using app software means or hardware means?
Thanks in advance,
E.S.
