I have just recently found out and realize that below is happening to me.
"Notification bar icons (Wi-Fi, network coverage bars, etc.): Turn green when you have an uninhibited connection to Google, white when you don't. Hint: if you're in a hotel or airport using Wi-Fi, the bars won't turn green until you launch the browser and get past the captive portal."
quoted from http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2010/12/some-cool-android-tips-and-tricks.html
when the phone is put to sleep, it often turn white. meaning it got disconnected from google services.
this also resulted to not receiving any push notification (especially on gmail).
when i turn it on again, it will then try to connect to google services and after a while, you will see that the signal bar turn green again.
then only suddenly you receive all the missed notification (this includes gtalk).
anyone has experience similar issue?
(note, i am testing this on mobile data only). going to try it on wifi later.
you seriously have to search the forum, cause this has been covered in a million page thread already in a few different places

hi, do you mean that this is a known issue?
but this doesn't seems to happen to my N1 which is on stock 2.2.1
and guide/direction on where the original discussion is much appreciated.

It's a known issue for the nexus s with a huge thread discussing it.
Unless I'm confusing the issue? Can anyone tell me if I'm thinking of something else?

i am still trying to find out if this is just happening to me (minority) or is this something serious (known issue).
so, cookie, this is happening to you as well, right?
It was a one-time event. The battery was not draining faster, but in the graph it showed this(see screenshot below). Any ideas? I'm on stock rom with stock kernel
Battery stats screw up from time to time. Reboot / recharge. It will come right in the end

That's quite normal if you have not used the phone in that period.
The android os has consumed 99% of the the battery drain of 24% and not 99% of the total battery capacity. When the phone is on the android os is always running and will obviously use the battery.
It is obviously a screwup, cause I used the phone, and usually screen consumes the most. A fully recharge resolved the issue

What more do you need to know other than sometimes it happens? It's a bug, it happens from time to time for as long as I can remember.
Many of you know exactly what "oversharpening" is... for those who not, just google "g3 oversharpening" or check this article.
After hours spent trying almost everything i finally managed to remove that. Check in the 2nd thread to see the difference.
Here you go... just flash the kernel in recovery but remember to make a backup of the boot partition before, just in case it will not works.
Remember... the only weird thing is that you have to turn off the screen and then on again to make it works. Just the 1st time after the boot.

I'll be giving this a run later. Want to elaborate on exactly what the issue was and the fix ?

I have down loaded and applied seems to work fine will run some more testing later... It does cause the phone to "hang" at the LG Splash screen for a few moments longer then normal. Just a heads up for other people that flash this.
:good:
I posted in the original G3 Development thread but also posting here to say, yes it does work. I was one who noticed and didn't like the effect. May be unnecessary for some but those who had complained about the sharpening will definitely appreciate this.

YES!!! Thank you!!!
I applied this patch using another method. I grabbed my current boot.img, opened with a hex editor and replaced 16 occurrences of 39010000000004F2010040 with 39010000000004F2010000. Wrote the image back, rebooted and... Ahhh, no more halo, no more ghosts, no more fuzziness. Nothing but crystal clear text!

Can anyone verify this? Will this method work on the cm12 kernel?
I'm not sure I see a difference .. My eyes are probably just used to the display.

Can I use this on the cm12 rom? The sharpening really kills the device for me.

This definitely has gotten rid of the over-sharpening so excellent job in that respect. I've had two random hot boots so far since I flashed this and also noticed that the phone hangs at the LG boot screen for about 30 seconds before the LED starts cycling through the colors and the AT&T splash screen comes up after shutting off the phone. Any ideas on either?

pulling up websites with a black text/white background and hitting the url bar was the easiest way to reproduce for me. This forced the background to go grey and every letter on the page would show the white halos from the oversharpening.

Bluebooth
I am so glad Liquid Smooth has a LP ROM for the D850! I have tried a couple of other LP ROMs and Bluetooth always seems to be broken. I was wondering if anyone can confirm that Bluetooth is working, specifically with Android Wear. If no one has tested it I might flash this later today and test it.
Update - installed ROM and it looks like Bluetooth is a no go right now!
Update 2 - Uninstalled Android Wear and reset the GWatch and now they are syncing. Seems to have been an issue with Android Wear, seeing both the phone and GWatch would pair with other devices.

Np, doesn't bother me
If I was a user I would want to know why and as a dev I gave a straight answer
For right now I'm having to use terminal emulator to connect to data on boot "su" "killall rild"
This is sort of strange... Both on this ROM and CM I occasionally see a star on my status bar just to the left of the WiFi signal indicator. Anyone know what that is?

This basically
Phone Call voice drops..
Anyone have a solution for this yet. About 15-30 Seconds into the call the call drops both parties voices and you can not here each other..... Thanks for any help. Also looked in Q&A no mention.
skype on LS v4.0
Anyone having trouble with Skype calling.. it drops after a few mins and when receiving a call it only rings once.. Is it skype or is it lollipop or the Rom?
But besides that its running awesome.. going to use it as my DD..
Great Job.. can't wait to see the tweaks you guys add to the Rom..
I changed the dpi rebooted and all was fine. I rebooted again and bootlooped. FWIW, had this problem with early builds of CM, but that was fixed a few updates ago.

So by all means flame away if that's what gets you to sleep at night..
I just want to share my issues
I'm still a user.. not lookin' to switch.. just sharin' the problems I have
A lot of times when I'm on a call & the screen shuts off.. I have to press power to get it to come back on.. even double tap doesn't work
I've tried disabling "Prevent Accidental Wake" & that hasn't seemed to solve it
I see the settings option about disabling Immersive Mode Messages.. buuut no option to enable Immersive Mode
No custom Power Menu Granted that may not be a feature anyway..
I noticed in the OP System App Remover was mentioned.. I'm not finding that.. :-/
If I had to guess I would say the double tap to wake / sleep working reliably is a stock rom thing.. currently in the works for AOSP roms yeah ? Double to wake works pretty consistently.. buuut the Double to sleep only works as the CM status bar tap setting rather than anywhere
What else what else..
Oh so I've got Skype installed.. & every time I try to make a call despite hitting Always.. I'm still asked if I want to use Phone or Skype
I'm not *****in'.. I'm not upset.. this is a forum.. forums exist for the purpose of discussion.. so I am sharing my experience & grievances using this as a daily driver..
Oh oh oh uhh.. also.. I can't seem to get the phone into silent mode now.. only vibrate for the quietest

Video camera
Been using Liquidsmooth for the past couple of days and I've been getting decent battery life and 95% of the apps I've tried have worked great. I'm seriously considering this for my daily driver. The only thing is the camera. Open camera or other camera apps on play can take pictures, but they can't take video. The apps throw error messages like "this mode isn't supported" when changing bit rate or frame rate or resolution. Basically it seems the app is unable to get any information about the physical video camera from the OS.

I seem to be having camera and WiFi issues. For camera, I can't use apps like Google translate. I get an error "camera has stopped' and it FC's. As for WiFi, it has trouble turning on and off. I usually have to restart my phone, otherwise it says " turning on/off WiFi" forever.
You have to use Open Camera to take pictures, sorry video doesn't work some say vivavideo works. As for wifi don't turn it off and when connecting to a new network hold the wifi notifications toggle and wait for it to connect.

Noticing some things that are causing battery drain. When I look at the Battery usage the apps or services with the highest usage are things like Google Play Store or Browser and Bluetooth. Turning off bluetooth stopped that. I had to Force Stop the Browser and Google Play Store. They both had 'Mobile radio active' times above 2h 30m even though I only had maybe 20 minutes of screen time. I did download an app that took about 30 seconds though. Something about the apps are keeping the mobile radio services going.

I found this alleviated all of my signal problems as well as speed up my data tremendously.
I used this on kitkat but it seems to have much more noticeable effects on lollipop.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bam.android.androidtweaker.two
I have to link it because it doesn't show up in play store searches for some reason.
Attempting to use the phone while connected to my car bluetooth doesn't use the bluetooth connection for sound or mic. The bluetooth is connected and it says Phone and Media audio are both available. The phone becomes unresponsive and eventually asks if I want to wait or stop.

Awesome, thanks for the info.
Do I still need to use Safestrap or can I flash it just like any other ROM?
-I hate question and answer threads, but I understand and appreciate their purpose. To that end. I must ask. Is 01-29-15 the latest build. If not where could I find those. I've looked so far on android file host and drdevs and g+ liquid.
I'm running 01-29-15 and I don't think people are getting my messages. SMS. Calls go out fine. I use selectel so it could be something with that. I hope I backed up everything I needed. and did a nvbackup.
Sorry if this has been asked, even sorrier if it's been repeatedly asked, but I do search both liquid threads and the other sites to be fair..
EDIT:
SMS works for me. Sorry about that but couldn't get anyone to reply back quick enough. I have settings turned on to get delivery receipts and to use a "dark" theme, Nether are working. Is this an issue.. And Please don't think I'm *****ing. I know this is early still in the ballgame and we're lucky honestly to have something this nice up and running. And to have a couple choices
Now on to the question of where to find the latest builds.
