Use this at your own risk. I have fixed the file plus added customization from Tizenmod 3.0 so for those files all the credit goes to Skin1980
Follow Skin1980 on how to add files and instructions https://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-2/development/rom-tizenmod-3-0-skin1980-t2850351
I don't use Gear 2 no more but I see people still use it. So I have updated it.
Last time I used drop box it was slow hopefully mediafire is faster for downloading.

go to /usr/share/icons/default/small/ replace all icons with yours
go to /opt/share/settings/ <<< to replace ringtones and alerts

Every mod is different I was used Tizenmod NE5 but with s6 edge somethings were not working so I went ahead and rooted OA2 because it is meant for android 5.0 and higher.
Tizendmod NE5 is better because you can use it with other phones if you don't have Samsung and he is a script that does everything for you so you don't have to do it manually.

Just wanted to drop in and say thanks for sharing, as well as let anybody worrying know that yes, this works, I have the R380-EUR-XX model, was on R380XXU0BOA2 stock already, and this flashed just fine with Odin. Didn't even lose my apps or unpair from my phone, only difference is that it's rooted now. Now I just wish this thing had some sort of TWRP, unless it's out there and I just haven't found it yet.

Would you please also dump the other partitions for us? Especially the modem.
Also, if you're bold/dumb like me, you may try wiping your system partition and then adb pushing the contents of this system directory. Let me tell you, the push succeeded (0 files skipped), but the phone never made it past the bootloader. Had no problem restoring my nandroid backup, of course.

No. It is a complete dump and this has been verified many times.
The problem lies in the fact that Samsung has tied part of the functionality to the modem, which is not part of the system dump - and which can only be used on the Google Edition S4. There is a work-around thanks to Faux123, and his modified kernel fixes all issues with this Android 4.3 OTA release.
This is for the Verizon Galaxy S5 Dev. Edition ONLY!!!

You can do this without kernel mod.
First navigate to /efs/carrier/HiddenMenu and change from OFF to ON save and exit.
Next you will want to navigate to /system/etc/autorun.iso and either rename *.bak or delete it.
Now reboot
Finally enter into your dialer *#0808#
Switch to MTP hit OK
Navigate to developer options and enable USB debugging if applicable.
All should be good.
Hmm... seems this doesn't stick through reboot. I will look into the kernel for you.

Yes, I got it to permissive, but I've got the dev edition, so it's easy (and possible) to change the kernel. I know someone in the forums is working on permissive without kernel change, but last I read it's not completed yet. Best of luck!

Gotcha, Thanks! Im figuring out the kernel stuff. Have been flashing custom roms for years never changed the kernels.
I was under the impression that you could just flash the .zip with safestrap on an std version?
I tried that , never saw the kernel actually change. I thought I was doing something wrong. Your reply leads me to think that changing the kernel on the stock S5 isn't exactly feasible yet?

And not to cross post, but I've tried just about every option, listed in the original Thread about the Android 9 being live in the u.s.! I've uninstalled, clear cache, reinstalled, install the beta after uninstalling the Play Store version, still no luck! It always gets stuck on the just after the terms of service I click register, and it just boots me back to the home screen, I've rebooted, powered off about 60 different times. I'm not sure what gives! I'll keep trying. This is the T-Mobile variant.
