[Q] HTC ONE S unable to install busybox - HTC One S

I have a HTC one S with (S4) processor, I recently update to the official T-mobile jelly bean update, I then rooted the phone and have attempted to update SU user and is unable to because it gets a "Access Denied", I also try to install the busybox app to be able to use a few commands I need to SIM unlock the phone however I can't because install the busy box keeps failing. I see there is a fix for the HTC One phone written by ViperBoy however I have not tried installing that file because I am afraid of bricking my phone. Please let me know if there is any sollutions or other ways fixing HTC write protect system folder.

After installing s off with moonshine I am now able to install busy box after few tries using both busy box installers available on the play store. I then was able to run the script needed to unlock my phone. Thank you for the quick reply.

And then when you want to check whether busybox has been installed correctly or not, open Terminal Emulator on your phone and type:
Code:
busybox
and hit enter. It should show some busybox related text which means it had been installed correctly

Kernel is not letting you write to system so you cannot uninstall bloat via tb nor install busy box. I had the same problem, now its fixed.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1710980. Try following instructions on easy init.d.

You need to have a custom recovery. Twrp. Then google Superuser + BusyBox flashable zip. Download it and flash it via recovery.

[ROOT] Easy Method To RooT Note II Official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and Remove Knox

Moved - forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49860203
Sounds interessting, but one thing isn't clear at all.
If you flash a custom recovery, you already trigger Knox.
Disabling it afterwards isn't the same as never triggering it at all.

The link that you've provided for Philz recovery is not for Odin. It's for flashing using the CWM recovery(zip format). The link for correct tar file to flash using Odin is http://d-h.st/R4n

People can do that manually because some custom ROMs use files in there and can break stuff if removed.

Thanks allot!! After installing the reset kernel I lost root and flashing latest supersu doesn't help? Any ideas?
I've tried the the following :
Flash latest CWM, install latest supersu or later supersu by kosh. Both no errors while installing but still no root in Android! No su found!
Flash latest TWR, same as above..
Root checker also tells me that I don't have root.. I've also tried fixing permissions via TWR.. Or installing multiple times!
EDIT:
this is definitely a problem with your kernel / boot.img, I've flashed original boot.img and ElementalX kernel, and root works again just fine!

Rooting problem

i've been installed the "resurrection remix" Lollipop Rom 5.0.2 on my S2 Plus I9105.
and it's great i like it , but i cannot root it , just did a normal recovery using the CWM and it always telling me :
"there is no SU binary installed and SuperSU cannot install it . This is a problem! if you just upgraded to android 4.3, you need to manually re-root - consult the relevant forums for your device! "
so is there any one can tell me what is the meaning of this ! and how can i fix it?!!!
THANK YOU any way!
Lol. Just install SuperSu from google play and update binaries.

You have to install it in recovery with lollipop. Make sure you get the latest version as it plays well with lg phones.

you could unzip the gapps and move the apps manually into the system apps folder, fix permissions, then reboot. dont try to install, system apps install themselves on reboot.
im thinking, some will work and some may not. i believe for some of the apps, there are other files the gapps install, you should see them in the gapps package, but i dont know where they need to be placed. maybe you can look at other apps to find similar files and place the new ones in the appropriate places.
i would make sure you have some way to recover your phone first. you just never know what might happen when dropping non native things into the system.

Kingroot prevents supersu from doing so.... Well why don't you try to push the files manually now as it looks the only way available currently
