I was tired of the ugly stock AM/PM that even xposed wouldn't remove. I spent about an hour trying different things to remove it and found the method to get rid of the pain in the butt. This is for developers as I am on the T-Mobile note 5. If you send me your framework-res, twframework-res, and systemui I will make this for you.

Decompile the SystemUI.apk and make the change shown in the commit above. Then recompile and move to System/priv-app/SystemUI
Help. Been looking for this. Is there a flashable zip that I could load?

wouldn't be easier to modify this line in status_bar.xml com.android.systemui.statusbar.policy.Clock with <TextClock android:format12Hour="h:mm a" android:format24Hour="HH:mm"
wanted to say thanks for the Git @Jamison904 was easy to do on an S6 while i was in there messing with some other things

Hey buddy, i've managed to make it work, after 2 months of searching.
Here is the link of proof. I haven't post any files yet or a guide, but if you want ill tell you what to edit and with what tools.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29106868&postcount=262
Or just paste the file inside this zip View attachment classes.rar to systemUI.apk and do the proper edits to status_bar.xml and the statusbar_background.9.png and statusbar_background.png afterwards.
You can also use the UOT Kitchen.

Yes. Use the .dex file for the alpha level and just change the statusbar_background.png to the desired transparency level and thats it . Just remember to add @color/transparent to the date background, otherwise it will show when you expand the statusbar and add the proper change from #ff000000 to @drawable/statusbar_background.

No, i just edited the smali in the systemui.apk. But apktool doesent work. Actually that was the case all along. I had to decompile and recompile with smali/baksmali.jar to make it work

Thanks for your work sir,
Just some questions:
1. for changing background of notifiction color & background of S finder and quick connect, which pngs have you replaced?
2. for removing notification bar gaps, how many xml codes have you edited?

1. In colors.xml, you have to change color values of "notification_header_bg_tw" and "tw_quick_connect_layout_bg"
2. In dimens.xml, change value of "notification_side_padding" to 0.0dip. By default its 8.0dip.

Can I ask how you got floating messages to work? I've been trying to a while now. I found the correct updated airmessage and proxy apk's from s6 stuff and I know the csc entries but haven't found the correct secmms apk that won't crash. I'm downloading your rom now and am going to tinker with it some but wanted to see if you knew what needed to be edited in the mms apk after decompile or if not at all. Just trying to learn some more myself and thanks for putting this together I always need a solid base to fall back on.

Not sure I'll give it a go in a few though and see what happens! If that fails then I guess it's time to make a thread and ask the pros ? since my Dumbass can't seem to get it lol

Yea man, the tool I use goes install frameworks, res and TouchWiz, then install systemui, then decompile, edit, them recompile. Also remember to move the original meta inf and android manifest to the new one before recompile.
I'll try some settings and system ui tweaks for this rom this weekend and share anything worth sharing.

Hi Today id like to share my modified SystemUI.apk for NOUGAT 7.0 (39.x.x.x442) and now 7.1 (41.x.x.x.8).
As the title suggests, it has been modified with the combined Data/WiFi cluster, moved to the left side of status bar, and the clock centered. Just flash the zip in recovery and reboot. Working on .442.
Works on odexed rom, I tested before deodexing .442.
Thanks to:
@Ticklefish (data/WiFi mod and awesome tickle my android program, miscellaneous help)
@FunSucker (Centre Clock mod, help with miscellaneous code)
@whalesplaho (all round help with code placement/modifying apk)
Please give the above guys a thanks on their posts, without them i'd still be waiting for xposed to achieve this.
A screenshot will speak more too......

Download the zip attached to that post, inside are two xml's from a deodexed systemui.apk.
Deodex then decompile your systemui.apk and edit your files to match (you can try to copy and paste but it may have errors), recompile and hopefully it worked.

Will do it ASAP, thanks a lot!!
OP updated for NOUGAT 7.1, 41.x.x.x.8.
How to return to stock?
Also, how to change wifi icon? I do not like the single bar, I would like the traditional one.

If you didnt back up your stock systemui.apk, you will have to wait till tomorrow and I will add one to the OP. As for the stock wifi icon, I will have a play tomorrow, it shouldn't be hard at all really. I have fixed the small gaps (signal cluster moves a little to the right when wifi is on and notifications were a bit far over as well) so I will add that tomorrow too :good:.
