I updated the software on my Moto X and left it to install overnight. I woke up and my screen was frozen on the first frame of the startup animation.
I have tried doing a forced restart, a factory startup and a recovery start up, none of which has worked. It will vibrate as though it was going to start up however it is frozen on the animation frame.
Please, if anyone has any ideas as to how to fix this problem, please help. I love this phone, I havent had any issues with it before at all and I cannot afford a new one.
Thanks.
Hi, and thank you for using XDA Assist
Before continue can you also specify which Moto X are we talking about? (like if it is the first or the second generation)

I need serious help, I updated my Moto G with the system update that came up on it last night, and ever since then it will not turn on all the way, before it would go through the animations and then just go to a black screen. Now it doesnt even do that, it either stays on the first load up animation without moving, or goes straight to a black screen. I've tried all the solutions, wiping the cache, factory reset everything and if anything they've made it work even less! Please help me, only had this phone 6 months can't afford another one :crying:
Try factory reset ..
What's your phone using?
Stock? Rooted? What Recovery are you using?

Hi,
My friend's Moto G has been acting really weird over couple of weeks, first it started freezing, then started to work really slow and now it doesn't want to boot into Android as it gets stuck on Motorola logo.
He hasn't done any rooting, changing ROMs whatsoever, the problem just came out of nowhere.
He's not able to boot into recovery as it gets stuck on Motorola logo.
What could be the cause of this?
Is there any way to fix it?
Thanks.

Thanks for reply, the warranty just finished a week ago. I'll try to reflash it through fastboot using this method here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219 but doubt it will work.
Thanks.
EDIT: Reflashed Stock ROM and everything works fine, weird.
After upgrading my moto g (1st gen), whenever I lock my phone it continuously starts rebooting the phone. Currently the only option I have is to keep the phone unlocked and screen open.
How to fix it?

kindly tell me how you managed to get into the lock screen, after continuous restarting of the mobile.
I updated my moto g (1st gen) to lollipop(5.0.2) on 6th feb.
Started having the restart problem from yesterday evening.
I managed to put the mobile in safe mode, and it has shut down by itself after some time of inactivity
Please help
same problem here as well
My moto 1st gen was updated 2_weeks back. Until yesterday I didn't face any issues. From yesterday onwards seeing auto restart.
Unable to trace the problem. Would factory reset help here?
Did you updated ota on stock phone without root? If not you maybe should flash something back from scratch and see how it goes
Facing same problem.
Its about 2 weeks since I updated to Lollipop.
Both SIM Does not work, Wi-Fi does not turn on, and mobile reboots whenever screen goes off.
Factory Reset also did not fix it.
Anybody please HELP! :crying:
That Update sucked.!
After facing this problem, I did a factory reset of my phone. For few days it worked without any hassle, but suddenly it started giving same restart problem. Again did a factory reset but this time it did not solve my problem. As my phone was in warranty, gave it to motorola service center. They found out that there was some problem in my phone's PCB and needs to be replaced. They replaced my phone's PCB and now I don't have any such problem.
So, if your phone is under warranty, I would suggest to go to service center.
For those owners with no warranty, you could try unlocking the bootloader, flash back to your stock ROM, and try the OTA update again.
Hi people
I recently rooted my 1st gen moto g and installed TWRP recovery. The phone is out of warranty. I did this with the help of a friend.
Today another friend gave me this app - no frills CPU control and I tried to do the 'battery saving' thing. Nothing happened initially. Then I decided to create a backup using TWRP so I did. But after backup, when I'm trying to reboot, it isn't rebooting. It's stuck at the motorola sign, and isn't even booting in recovery. It just shows the Teamwin blue color thing, and then again gets stuck on the motorola icon. Can't even factory reset. Now I'm a newbie, whatever I did was with a friend before.
Now my dads pissed because this is the second time somethings wrong happened with my phone and the first time I could get it done as it was in warranty. What now? Help will be greatly appreciated
I rooted my phone not too long ago and today during a quick reset to update some modifications I made on Gravitybox, it has gotten stuck in a sort of boot loop. I've tried wiping the cache in modified recovery, booting in safe and download mode, and even resetting factory defaults. But every time I have tried those things, after the LG and android logo screen appear and the Verizon logo screen appears like during a normal boot, it appears the phone is stuck at that Verizon logo screen. I am thoroughly baffled as what to do, because I cannot even manage to get download mode.. I have looked thoroughly throughout the internet but cannot seem to find anyone who has had this problem, so, I decided that maybe someone here might know what to do.
Thanks in advance for any help that anyone can provide!
