I rooted my phone not too long ago and today during a quick reset to update some modifications I made on Gravitybox, it has gotten stuck in a sort of boot loop. I've tried wiping the cache in modified recovery, booting in safe and download mode, and even resetting factory defaults. But every time I have tried those things, after the LG and android logo screen appear and the Verizon logo screen appears like during a normal boot, it appears the phone is stuck at that Verizon logo screen. I am thoroughly baffled as what to do, because I cannot even manage to get download mode.. I have looked thoroughly throughout the internet but cannot seem to find anyone who has had this problem, so, I decided that maybe someone here might know what to do.
Thanks in advance for any help that anyone can provide!

Hey guys.
I'm new in the Android world and bought an LG G2 back in november.
I had originally intended to custom install cyanogenmod or KitKat 4.4 to replace stock rom, but I couldn't find a way to install a custom recovery, and was only able to root my device via Kingo Android Root.
A while later I saw an update that popped up, and not knowing any better I clicked install. It was about 114MB. That was about 3 days ago, and my LG G2 has been stuck in a bootloop ever since.
When I try to turn it on the LG logo shows up, then it says "secure booting error"and "Cause: boot certification verify" on the top left corner of the screen in white text.
I tried doing a hard reset, but that didn't work. I don't have a custom recovery so that I can clear the cache and data or something. So pretty much I have a bootlooped phone with no custom recovery, I can't do a hard reset, and it's Sprint and everything's new so it's harder to find a fix.
Does anyone here know of a way I can fix this? It would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Hi there everyone, recently signed up on here as xda seems to be the holy grail when it comes to all thing smartphone.
I'm fairly new to these type of phones and recently was given an infuse 4g that was suffering a power button problem.
The power button problem has been resolved with a new one and the phone was working fine for 3 / 4 weeks.
One day the phone shut down by itself and entered the boot loop syndrome. Factory clearing it hasnt seemed to do anything to resolve the problem as it continued to reboot continuosly.
I came across the thread about gtg ultimate unbrick guide in the developers forum and this seemed like a good way to go, get the phone all the way back to stock and then work from there.
Kies installed and all drivers installed fine. downloaded the gtg unbrick pack and followed the instructions line for line. Odin reports everything passed, took about 2:59 to complete.
phone rebooted and continued to do boot loop so went into recovery as stated and wiped data and cache and rebooted again.
phone is still stuck in some sort of boot loop, but it gets to display the 1st of the setup android phone screens, then just as you get a chance to select next to go onto the next screen, the phone reboots.
Any one have any idea what could be going wrong or as im fairly new to this, is there anything im doing or not doing right that is causing this.
The phone is an at&t infuse.
regards
Trevor

I've already replaced the power button with a new one, but the technician i use did say he will remove the power button completely to see if it does the same, just to rule that out
Trev
just redone the gtg flash and it boots into the os (ver2.2.1) and then within about 5 seconds turns off and reboots
can the new on off switch be faulty......im not so sure as in recovery mode, i can leave it on that screen forever and it doesnt attempt to reboot
Tried the one click repair with hemdial or what its called, updating thisnpost via a moto defy mini so excuse any typos.. The hemdiaOl just seemed to meas it up further. So got baxk into downliad mode with odin and reflashed to gtg brick recovery. Not fixed, still booting but at least the screen is now viewable.
To recover one of these phones, is there like a definitive guide as to what to do to first prepare one of these phones for recovery, ie, first, flash to this with cwm and then clear data, cache, dalcik etc. like an idiots fuide, i feel i may need one
Regards
Trev
Hello, My friend just told me about this website and all the wonderful experts on here. I have an LG G3 (d850)AT&T/Cricket. I made a huge mistake. I tried having my phone rooted through oneclickroot.com . Their technician was very unsucessful. In the process, once my screen reached firmware update, the phone froze at 0% , and while it was still at 0%, it started to reboot and the screen got stuck by the AT&T logo screen. Now whenever i turn on my phone it will not get further than the AT&T logo screen, it just freezes at that screen forever. It seems i have to factory reset the phone. However i have extremly important information on it that i do not want to lose. I was thinking of sending my phone to a data recovery business but that will be very costly . If there are any experts that can give me any solutions , I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you very much

There's honestly no way to retrieve the data unless you had it stored on an SD card. If there was a way to retrieve it you be looking prob 2 grand or more for data recovery for something like that.

Custom Recovery
"Thanks for the response! Is there a way I could check if a Custom Recovery was installed (Bootloader? ADB?) on the phone? If there was, could I boot into it without losing the data?"
Hey guys,
Sorry if the answer to this found somewhere else, tried searching but foud nothing for my situation.
My buddy, who is a super basic user and was not attempting to do anything with his phone, has a G4 that suddenly stopped working and went into a boot loop.
We tried factory resetting it and it got about half way through the apps before stopping, going back into a boot loop and was unable to get back to the same point in the factory reset.
I tried flashing the ROM using LGUP to H811-20o and it said that it went successfully on LGUP as well as the phone itself, but after it rebooted it went back into a boot loop.
Now the boot loop goes faster but is still looping and we cannot get back into download mode to try again or potentially try a different ROM. It goes to the first screen of download mode with the 5 blue dots but doesn't get past that, I've removed the battery waited for a while in between attempts and still nothing.
We can get to the factory reset screen and click yes, it will then go to the green android guy with his cog wheels exposed but then immediately goes back into a boot loop.
Any help is appreciated, even if its just a confirmation of being SOL.

Hello
I am new to working on these phones so I apologize in advance if I don't properly state any processes or terms correctly.
I have a stock non modded Verizon LGG3 VS985 that experienced problems with WiFi and Bluetooth not working and significant battery drain. This happened right after a recent update to marshmallow. I tried cache clearing, safe mode, hard reset and nothing solved the problem. I decided I wanted to take the phone back to factory condition. I started with the LG flash tool that uses the .tot and a .dll. I ran the flash and when the program got to approx. 80%(at checking mini os phase of the flash) the phone began to reboot and only got as far as the LG logo and after about 2 min of the phone trying to reboot the flash program said fail, usb connect or something like that. At this point the phone will only start and go into a loop that includes the vibrate and the LG logo. and that will cycle until I believe the battery would die if allowed. I then found a link here at XDA (https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/general/guide-flash-to-stock-10b-kdz-method-t2928140) that uses the KDZ method, was well written and easy to follow. I ran it on the phone and it was going great. The flash program got to 88% and the phone went into the boot loop with the vib and LG logo . The flash program continued to run until it was complete while the phone was in the boot loop and it got to 100% and said that the software installed. I powered down the phone via battery removal and now when it tries to boot it vibes, shows the lg log and then the green android symbol shows for about 2 seconds and then it does it all over again. I have tried a hard reset and nothing changes. I appreciate any ideas any of you may have on what I can try to get this resolved. Thank you.
