How to install twrp - T-Mobile LG G2

I have a lg g2 d801 with tmobile I have the phone rooted, and have tried to use autorec to install twrp. Although it says it has flashed, when i try and boot the into recovery, it boots into stock recovery.
I've also tried downloading twrp and installing it through the app, though it fails to install.
What am i doing wrong?
The twrp recovery is 2.7.0.0, i was able to manage to get into it once, although it soft bricked my phone and i had to used the lg toolkit to reinstall stock kdz file.

Custom Recovery flashed, but not working

I recently rooted my LG Optimus one (2.3.3) using the superoneclick method. I then installed ROM manager and flashed the custom recovery successfully. After that, when I chose to boot into recovery, the device booted into standard recovery and formatted my phone. This has been happening ever since and I am unable to boot into custom recovery and am ending up formatting my phone again and again.
Also, when I flashed the custom recovery, ROM manager flashed CWM 5.0.2.0 (LGE optimus one (Old baseband)), but I have been told that my phone has the new BB as it is running stock 2.3.3. Please help me regarding this issue.
Also, I am unaware if this the right place to post this question. could the mods please move it to the right section if I am wrong ?
Thank You

Thank you. I'll try this. In order to run CM 10, is it necessary for my recovery to be from CWM? or is it possible to run CM 10 with an AmonRa recovery installed ?

Please help with 10o AT&T G2 and recovery..

I just tried flashing AeonFlex and I thought I had bricked my phone. When I rebooted from the recovery after flashing the LG logo would come up for a second and then an all black screen. I couldn't do anything. I tried everything and eventually I got it into recovery and restored the stock backup I made. Is there a problem with my recovery maybe? I used the recovery from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2589950 because I got a G2 with 10o already installed. Is there a specific version of twrp someone can recommend for me also with instructions on how to flash it to this G2 with 10o?
I tried flashing the 2.6.3.3 zip from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2449670 but I keep getting a "failed" result in the twrp that I flashed from the other thread above. Does anyone have a working recovery for the AT&T G2 with 10o that they could post for me please?
Update: I can't get any rom to flash at all. I've tried all different twrp recoveries. I can backup and restore fine but I can't flash a rom. Is there an updated loki or something I'm forgetting to do? Has anyone with a G2 with the 10o OTA gotten roms to flash? If so, PLEASE help me out.
Anyone? I'm hurting here lol.

I had same issue. What happened to me is when I took ota from 10b shipping build to 10o then I rooted and installed twrp with freege. When I did this it would only put a older version of twrp and would never update. Threw numerous reInstalls and attempts to flash zips of newer version 3.3 at the time it would not update nor would it flash a Rom would be able to wipe backup and what ever else but flash a Rom would end up black screen and would have to flash backup.I tried with cwm and same result.but I did manage to flash New version of twrp. Threw cwm so I thought I was finally good. Wrong!! I tried everything. . only way out is to return to stock period!!!! I got back on stock and installed newest twrp and can flash every rom out there for my device..finally happy flashing!!:thumbup::thumbup:Hope this long story clears this up.

How to install recovery in LG G2 D80020y

Hello friends consultation
What is the best way to install the recovery on LG G2 D80020y ...?
If it's any thing and I have root access
Thanks and regards
Stump root, use brute force if the auto doesn't work. Then use autorec which will install the latest TWRP recovery for you.
See this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2869410
thanks, just did this, needed brute force, it all worked for me.

Thanks men:good: work for me everything perfectly, I have put my G2 CM12
I followed this method and rooted my LG G2 D800 on the Y update, installed this Autorec, it had option to reboot into recovery or to exit.
Do we need to use this tool every time to enter recovery to flash a ROM as I chose reboot and did not see any advanced options present and nothing under developer, have not checked SU yet, if it is there, will come back and clarify the next step, as simply installing Autorec does not give me the option to reboot into recovery using the phone's main power button.
I was able to enter recovery, this Autorec installed 2.7.0.0 according to the splash screen, and the AT&T D800 is not on their list.
The TWRP manager says it is not installed, so tried CWM manager and installed CWM, it said some 5.x version installed when latest is the 6.0.4.4, downloaded an img, but been a while since pushed those onto a device and lost the knowledge..
It was within the CWM app that had option to reboot into recovery after it thought it installed properly, the TWRP was very basic and I lucked out not bricking my device using it in my opinion. I didn't see much info on flashing to CM12 and used same method as before, I see others flashing 2 times and adding kernels, some say to add SU, some say to not, a guide would rock.

The D800....y stock image does not have the option to reboot into recovery, since there wasn't a custom recovery to boot into until you installed twrp. Even still, no option unless you install a custom ROM or useYou should use TWRP anyway, better support for it on the D80x series and it has more features.

[Completed] [Q] I may have borked my phone please help!

So I own a OnePlus One and I decided to do the oem update to cm12 and then install twrp and root the phone, well when i installed twrp I had issues booting into cm12 so i found a version that was compatible.
I just recently was messing around in the twrp recovery menu and clicked fix permissions not knowing what it meant, tried to reboot into cyanogen and it just sits at the cyanogen boot logo and wont boot into cyanogen.
Anyone know what todo?

Best place to get help is in the ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [Q&A] Help thread. Ask away! (Noob friendly) by dansou901 thread.
And check this thread too: Bootloop after flashing TWRP recovery by JaymZ37.
Sounds like a similar issue.
Good luck !

[Completed] LG L7 Stuck in CWM Recovery

So after flashing the stock rom via kdz flasher i apparently still had cwm installed, but didnt even know. So thinking all was well and good, completely mod-free, i tried to do an ota update of the official rom. I regret doing that. Now I can only boot in cwm recovery, and trying to install any rom is useless, the phone keeps bringing me to cmw.
I've also tried to flash via kdz by bringing the phone in emergency mode, but even though the install seems succesful, on bootup the phone will only go to cwm.
Tried everything and stayed up all night to no avail, really desperate. :crying:

Hi, Thank for using XDA assist It looks like there is no dedicated forum for your device, however
There is a general forum for android here http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help where you can try to ask to get expert's help.
Good luck.
