Please help with 10o AT&T G2 and recovery.. - AT&T LG G2

I just tried flashing AeonFlex and I thought I had bricked my phone. When I rebooted from the recovery after flashing the LG logo would come up for a second and then an all black screen. I couldn't do anything. I tried everything and eventually I got it into recovery and restored the stock backup I made. Is there a problem with my recovery maybe? I used the recovery from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2589950 because I got a G2 with 10o already installed. Is there a specific version of twrp someone can recommend for me also with instructions on how to flash it to this G2 with 10o?
I tried flashing the 2.6.3.3 zip from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2449670 but I keep getting a "failed" result in the twrp that I flashed from the other thread above. Does anyone have a working recovery for the AT&T G2 with 10o that they could post for me please?

Update: I can't get any rom to flash at all. I've tried all different twrp recoveries. I can backup and restore fine but I can't flash a rom. Is there an updated loki or something I'm forgetting to do? Has anyone with a G2 with the 10o OTA gotten roms to flash? If so, PLEASE help me out.

Anyone? I'm hurting here lol.

I had same issue. What happened to me is when I took ota from 10b shipping build to 10o then I rooted and installed twrp with freege. When I did this it would only put a older version of twrp and would never update. Threw numerous reInstalls and attempts to flash zips of newer version 3.3 at the time it would not update nor would it flash a Rom would be able to wipe backup and what ever else but flash a Rom would end up black screen and would have to flash backup.I tried with cwm and same result.but I did manage to flash New version of twrp. Threw cwm so I thought I was finally good. Wrong!! I tried everything. . only way out is to return to stock period!!!! I got back on stock and installed newest twrp and can flash every rom out there for my device..finally happy flashing!!:thumbup::thumbup:Hope this long story clears this up.

[Q] Safe to restore nandroid backed up with fake flash?

I have a kind of complex, quick question. After I rooted stock but before I flashed CM7 on my G2x, I followed the guide on the CM wiki for flashing clockworkmod recovery through ROM Manager and ended up "fake flashing" my phone back to factory settings. However, I made a nandroid backup first and then followed the guide here on XDA for flashing NVFlash using the NVIDIA drivers, and successfully flashed CM7. My question is, I want to go back to stock to upgrade to the OTA with the new baseband and was wondering if it's safe to flash that backup i made with the clockworkmod recovery that fake flashed my phone or if I should just play it safe and download the stock 2.2 rom listed on the guide here?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1088728
Thanks for your help.
I went ahead and flashed the backup in question and it seemed to work. I then reverted everything to stock (ROM, recovery, unroot), tried the LG updater which failed, bricked my phone (stuck on S/W Upgrade), followed the unbrick guide, and successfully got GB OTA running on my phone, so mods can close this thread.

[Solved] Optimus 3D boots into recovery

Hello,
My friend has an LG Optimus 3D running stock froyo which i rooted for him and installed ClockworkMod Touch Recovery 5.8.1.5. Everything was fine until a notification for an upgrade to gingerbread was available and he clicked install.
Now the phone can only boot into recovery. I tried to restore a previous backup, flash the zip of a froyo rom. But to no avail.
Any idea what might be cause and solution?
Thanks in advance
UPDATE: I connected to adb and gave the command "adb reboot-bootloader" and it still boots into recovery. Is it normal?
UPDATE 1: I tried using the LGMobileUpdate tool to install the update in the hope that it solved the problem, it detects the phone, downloads and extracts the rom, start the update process and then gives a connection error. The error isn't given during the detecting phone phase but when it start to apply the update.
Bump... Please, anyone?
Try flashing an entire ROM. The kernel may be botched.

I have already tried to install through clockworkmod the zip of the stock froyo rom (from the thread of official roms). Nothing changes. Neither restoring a backup from clockworkmod changed anything.
As I remember that the kernel is part of the rom zip, I think the problem is more low level.
Tomorrow I'll try doing this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1244490
Any other suggestions or ideas?
UPDATE: Followed the guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1540163 and managed to flash the kdz of v21a. Problems solved

Stuck on boot animation.

Wondering if anybody else is having this problem? If I install a custom rom like cm11 unofficial I just get stuck on the boot animation. It happens on any custom rom I installed and I followed all instructions. Any ideas? Running 1034 16gb on kit kat.

Make sure your bootloader is unlocked and your device is rooted. In addition your recovery must be installed correctly.

Push ROM files to your /sdcard/

I had this problem yesterday. Here is how I fixed it:
Install stock firmware. I installed a 4.4 one. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219
Then rooted using superboot
Finally, I installed TWRP
It took like three tries to get superboot and twrp to work properly. That's how I fixed it. Goodluck

Had the same problem with a xt1032 retail.DE version, but didn't work.
I flashed the US umts4.4.2 version, was able to install root using superboot (at 2nd of 3rd try) and installed TWRP. Tried to Cm11 and gapps installed good, but still got stuck on bootanimation.
Losing faith here.
well this just happened on my phone again. the way I fixed it last time isn't working now I have no idea what to do
Why is no one helping with this issue. Ive experienced this a lot and I always have to restore it stock. I have never been able to install a custom ROM no matter how many times I root.

There are two ways to get this fixed:
Fix permissions through TWPR recovery (not available on CWM recovery);
Restore to stock firmware (you can find 4.4.2 firmware here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49861244&postcount=101), flash CWM recovery (or TWRP) and flash CM11 again. This worked for me.
Let me know!
Can anyone confirm these methods? (at least the first one)
Done the 2nd multiple times, same result.
i have same problem , and don't know what to do ?
i flashed 3 different ROMs all stuck on bootanimation .
I'm curious. Did this happen the first time you flashed a rom? When I bought my Moto G (tesco version) it had 4.3 on it, I upgraded to 4.4 via OTA. Unlocked the bootloader, flashed CWM for 4.4 kernel, made backup and flashed various CM builds, booted with no problems.
Now I restored to backup, because of the non-working GPS.
It stucks on CM (the flashed rom) boot screen or the bootloader warning screen?

After trying the second one 3 times, I used the TWRP/Fix Permissions method and successfully flashed CM11.

I got CM 11 to boot the first time on a dirty flash, but forgot to flash gapps, so got a load of FCs when it loaded up. Since then, any sort of flash, clean or dirty gives me a bootloop.
Even directly flashing boot.img via fastboot doesn't fix it. Reinstalling the stock firmware and starting from scratch doesn't do it either.

ROM installation problems

I've been flashing ROMs, recoveries etc for years on every android device I've had, from Samsung to nexus, HTC. Everything. This is my first Motorola and I'm having a lot of problems.
Unlocked the boot loader, flashed TWRP but wouldn't backup my stock ROM so put on Pholz recovery and it wouldn't backup either.
Tried to install C-Rom after the usual wipes and just sticks at boot screen. Tried Tweakone ROM I think its called and same problem.
Any ideas? I have the XT1032
I know about restoring to factory but what I'm asking is, is there anything specific I'm doing wrong? I'm quite an experienced flasher. Research is showing me how to recover the phone but what's gonna stop it happening again

A lot of users report issues not being able to flash rom's on 4.4.2 kitkat.
A fix is to downgrade to 4.3, then flash roms.
I dont know why. I bought my device upgraded to 4.4.2 already, and i can flash roms with no issues.
Search the forum for the topic and you will find the info you need.

It wont backup saying what error?
Twrp just said 'failed' in red writing after the data backup I think. And philz touch said something along the lines of Not being able to write a file into the \clockworkmod folder.
I bought the device with 4.4.2 on it and followed the guides after reading up about the problems etc but TWRP 2.7.0.0 had a lot of reports that everything was working on it so went ahead with it
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Ya that's strange because philz works great for me. Do you have a USB otg to try an external backup?
Sent from my XT1032 using Tapatalk
I got the phone booted again by following a guide and flashing a stock rom.
Installed Philz recovery again and still getting the backup error. it says: E: Error while backing up boot image!
So understandably i am now scared to flash another rom in case i get a boot loop again.
*update* Strangely i flashed TWRP via CWM, rebooted into TWRP 2.7.0.0 and performed a backup successfully.

Why dont you use Clockwork mod recovery for flashing Rom. I have flashed 10 Roms with that and all are backed up with out any problems. TWRP has no official support for moto g, and instead of all that why don't you try Cyanogenmod ?
(sorry if my english is not perfect)
Hello,
I have exactly the same problem with my XT1032.
Bootloader unlocked, CWM (6.0.4.7) successfully installed and backup done with no issues.
But custom roms won't load...
CM11 is stuck at "bootloader unlocked warning screen" and SlimKat is stuck at slimkat logo.
I never had such problems on my Nexus..
Please help me, I don't know what's going on

Same here. It may be possible to downgrade to 4.3 (see here), but would it then be possible to flash a 4.4.2-based custom ROM ? I'm not sure.
Heres the steps I took.
*******Before device was stuck at bootloop*******
1. Bought phone (XT1032)
2. unlocked boot loader
3. Rooted
4. Flashed Philz Recovery (wouldn't backup rom)
5. Flashed TWRP and CWM with same issue.
6. Flashed 2 ROMs to try it (TweakyOne + C-Rom, Both wouldn't boot. and tried on all recoveries.
********Steps after being stuck at bootloop*******
1. Followed this amazing guide here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laU6NQ0LxR0)
2. Set up the stock ROM again
3. Flashed TWRP 2.7.0.0 via Fastboot
4. Backup worked successfully
5. installed CM11 and setup successfully
6. installed Lego rom just to assure myself (currently running this ROM)
I know this is no solution at all but just wanted to share my steps to see what maybe fixed my phone. possibly the stock 4.2.2 rom I flashed was the solution. Maybe the original factory ROM that came on the phone was the issue?

Custom ROM Issue... Stuck Booting...

Hey androids, I submitted this question as a reply to the guide thread already earlier... just thought it might get noticed in this forum alittle quicker... any help would be appreciated
I'm working on a recalled tablet that I rooted to keep using, and up until recently the ROM i had installed on it worked famously (bliss pop with android 5.1.1). Now, I was having some issues with it and thought "Well, i'll try out a different rom!"
So, I already had root (obviously) and I had already successfully installed a rom to this tablet... Using TWRP (both the 2.8.x.x I used previously and the newest one available for the shield) I have backed up, wiped, and flashed the images to 3 different roms + gapps for the appropriate versions...
first, I was going an issue with it mounting the \data partition so it wouldn't flash anything... then I repaired and rewiped the partitions, and got (what appeared to me in the logs) a clean and successful install of the roms. Each time I successfully flashed a ROM and GAPPs zips I would go to boot the ROM and my table would sit on the "NVIDIA" boot screen forever, never advancing to boot the ROMs.
I was worried that I had made a mistake and bricked the thing (though, it's been on borrowed time anyways being a recalled tablet). But I was able to force shutdown the tablet and reboot it into TWRP for another try. Each time I cleared the previous flash, wiped the cache and system partitions, and would get another clean install... but each time, it would get stuck on that same boot screen....
Anyone have any suggestions? thoughts? ideas? fixes? answers?.... anything? lol
Thanks folks!

Is the newest TWRP *not* a MM bootloader?
TWRP is a recovery. A bootloader is a bootloader.
This is covered in every rom thread that updated from L to M.

I'll re-look, the guides i've read have only covered flashing TWRP, then using them to flash the ROM and GAPPs... Which is what I did the first time I rooted it and put on a custom ROM... though maybe I didn't delete the original bootloader the first time and did so accidentally this time?
Thanks for the heads up though people, we'll see if I can straighten it out now that I know what I'm looking for

Ok, so I've downloaded the shield recovery zip, flashed the boot.img to the boot... nothing, then I read on one of the guides here that the "blob.img" is the bootloader... but the zip has a blob, without the .img
So I then attempted to add .img, and flash it to "boot" in TWRP, and there was an error, saying the file is too large...
do you (or someone else) know where to find a guide on where to find/how to flash a MM bootloader?
thanks
Ok, so I found guide with links to the latest firmware update; I flashed it, rebooted, and now I've gotta past the "Nvidia" boot screen into the Bliss boot screen... It's been here for a couple minutes now, gonna give it alittle bit and then try to install the other ROM I had tried.
