[Q] need help after a hard reset with a dial code (*#*#786#*#*)

hello, i did a hard rest to my nexus s 4g that is flashed to boost mobile dialing *#*#786#*#*
my problem is that now the phone doesn't have service and fail to activate, i restored all the settings exactly as it was before the hard reset

[Q] Dial (*numbers#) failed

I don't know if this things ever happen to your phone or your Carrier, but everytime when I dial (*#), its always failed. do any of you guys know any fix for this??
usually numbers starting with * and ending in # are special codes...
is it a real phone number or a service code for your provider?

NO, 2 mobiles cannot have the same IMEI number. Every cell has a unique one. This IMEI number is very useful to block and trace a mobile phone if in case this is stolen....
if there exist same IMEI nos..that means the phone is cloned... and its not possible to make a call..because it gets blocked by your network provider itself!

Hi,
If you had lost your IMEI you could not make calls or SMS... EDIT: ok, IMEI is fine.
Check your APN settings in Settings/More/Mobile networks/Access Point Names.

Okay, when i entered my APN settings, nothing was selected. so i selected reset to default APN settings and it had selected one.
But i still have no internet. Is there more to it?

Hmm, at this point multiple things...
Is the APN selected is the one used from your carrier? If yes the settings are correct (just in case)?
Have you network coverage (how is the signal, have you a edge/2G/3G and so on icons, bars)?
What happens when you try to use the browser or whatever (an error message)?
Could you test your SIM card in another phone?
@s-essa, try to add it manually depending of your carrier (maybe call them or take a look on the web for the settings), always in Settings/More/Mobile networks/Access Point Names and click on the little cross surrounded and don't forget to save.

Yes i have bars but i have no icons saying 3g or 4g....
when i try to use the browser it just doesnt load and said that i have no internet connection.
I entered it manually. i got the details off the website for my carrier.. and i did click save.
Does it take time to activate ? So after i enter it and save it and select it... how long until my internet will start working if what i did was correct?

I see that you found the IMEI sticker on the sticker - but does your phone (software) also show that same IMEI?
