My doubts are "What is the real steps for installing S6 Style S5 Port Rom on my rooted g7102 grand 2 running stock kitkat 4.4.2"
I tried finding everywhere, but confused and don't have any idea how to do it without bricking or damaging my phone.
So can someone please explain me how to do it?
Also I wanted to know all the BUGS (from minor to extreme major), cause I don't want to reflash and downgrade so i have to be sure for it.
And i am running cwm recovery, also tell do i have to make my system backup and if yes then I am a little bit confused as my internal storage will be going to wiped up and i have fully filled up external sd card, so is there a way to make system backup and all apps backups to be stored on pc???
What I figured out:-
First I have to download v3 zip on to my phone
Then in cwm clearing data, cache and dalvik
Then flashing this rom
Is this all? Am I doing right? or I have to do something else too?
I am running stock kitkat samsung on my grand 2 (g7102)
And please tell about choice in going with v3 or v2, please be honest with bugs, i don''t want to go back to reflashing stock, i really liked this rom features but everyone is complaining about wifi and other bugs, please tell about it and to resolve also.
Thanks in advance.
Hi!
I see you've found your device section and posted there, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3063074
Awesome! :good: XDA Assist is here to help navigate the site, not for support......and you found your way. So I will close this thread.
Good luck!

I get an error with installing the GApps provided by PA. I've tried every single type provided but it kept saying that I had insufficient space. As a result, I formatted my sd card0 which fixed the problem. However, now I cannot access my phone's internal storage which is needed by swiftkey. I was wondering if there was a fix for this? I've been googling all last night and I couldn't find anything specific except using ODIN to reflash the original android software. Thanks.
You need to post your Query in Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting Since this is specific to a Rom, you may as well post in the Rom's thread.
You'd need to clean flash the Rom or Flash back to stock to regain lost partition size.
fix
For other people who are experiencing the same problem, I fixed it by re-flashing back to stock using ODIN. It took a while but everything is back to normal.
Hi everyone. I'm new to XDA, so I'd like to take the time in advance to tell all of you developers and contributors how much I appreciate what you do. XDA has some of the brightest minds in the world. The information contained here has already saved me (and my Nexus 7) quite a few times.
With that said, I'd like to know more about the ins and outs of flashing ROMs (and kernels) and how to do it properly without losing everything (music, pics, etc). Also, how flash updates to ROMs: do I need to wipe and reload everything with each update, and and can I flash the LATEST update or do I have to go back and flash each and every update in order of their release? If anyone could direct me to the proper thread(s) I'd greatly appreciate it. There's so much info here that its easy to get lost. I truly appreciate any help and/or direction.

Hi, I'm glad you're happy with XDA.
I'm not a developer but I can tell you about flashing ROMs.
When flashing the latest version of a ROM/kernel you don't have to flash all previous versions
When flashing a new ROM (E.g CyanogenMod) over your stock/current ROM (That isn't CM) you must perform a data wipe/factory reset and wipe the cache. To save data use Titanium backup to backup all your apps, copy all files available to PC and make a Nandroid backup incase the flash fails.
When flashing an update (E.g Cyanogen M6 over M5) most of the time you don't have to backup all apps etc but most people do incase something goes wrong (which it can), however when flashing a nightly/experimental over a M-build you must wipe data and cache.
When flashing a kernel the same rule applies as flashing a new ROM (Backup, Wipe, Restart)
Hope I could help and good luck exploring ROMs and Kernels
Hey Im Sixthg but call me six. I have rooted my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (GT-p3113) and flashed my recovery with CWM 6.0.3.7. I have a stock gaming rom and my Original rom backed up. Would it be possible for someone to Customize my rom and change the User Interface? If so, are you willing to do it for free?
Also I would like to keep my downloaded apps when I install custom roms....how would i do that?

Hey there,
I,m new too but i'm not devs here, i'm a noob user so probably i'm not going to help much. If I'm explaining something that you are already know, I apologise.
Yet from my little experience, i did flash the latest recovery CWM 6.0.5.1 (i suggest you try it to flash the latest version available too) and using CM 12 build 20140215 unofficial lollipop version on my P3100. All of them you can found on thread by Android-Andi. Just make sure you download and flash the correct version for your P3113 / probably same as P3110 (*I use P3100).
I can't paste his link of work as its on his signature. BUT, you can found it on "Galaxy Tab 2 7" Android Development". On his androidfilehost you may find all the necessary files such as latest rom (twrp, cwm, omni, etc) and customize rom for kitkat or lollipop. He also made slim version for both of it. He also help how to do it. But be aware to backup everything first as usual. as what I did was a clean install thus it may not bring back any bugs with it. So it means download all the apps manually. But if you connect the game with google play your data will stay the same (I guess).
Just my 5cents. Sorry if it doesnt help much or didn't answer your questions. Hope someone could explain it better
Best of luck.
No with clockworkmod recovery it is best to have the one Rom manager recommends for a device. And seeing as no roms have been made for p3113 or p3110 I flashed it with the p3100 recovery. The one it downloaded and flashed is 6.0.2.7 because that recovery is meant for p3100. Nightlies I found out are full builds and with the app link2sd you can convert apps to system apps so you do not loss them when flashing a new rom. So thats what I did with my downloaded apps. Now as I have aslo backed up everything. I need to download a working nightly.
Also I would like to know if I could somehow take away the samsung dependency? They have too many apps that are key to my system's functionality.
I have a ZTE Grand X Max+ (only a Cricket phone) now. I rooted with kingroot, installed twrp recovery and flashed supersu. Since then, aside from all the exploring of the app store for the only-root apps, I am in desperate need of a verified and fully stable custom rom. If anyone knows of one for me please let me know. I need it so badly.
In the meantime, I am taking advantage of immersive full screen and I have tried 3 paid apps and few of the free too. All either cannot let you fix the brightness on a widget, use the button for recent apps on your custom soft keys or don't let you accept incoming calls. Can someone who is familiar with this whole topic of immersive mode please reply with a fully functional immersive mode/full screen app. As I've said, I have tried from the best of the paid version root immersive apps in the play store.
Thank you to all who have read my requests and all of you should all have an awesome weekend.
Looking forward to your feedback.
Hello,
I looked around for ROMs for you but came up inconclusive due to dead links and ROMs full of issues.

Thank you very much for your time and effort. I actually was stuck without a rom after following a rogue set of instructions for something I forgot what for but it said to wipe out certain cache and I didn't have a backup of my stock rom. I went searching for a custom rom and used one for the Grand X Max, an absolute no no and I don't k of what I was thinking. But I flashed it with twrp and it worked, don't know why. There were many bugs in it. Luckily I found the stock rom and flashed, then rooted, flashed twrp and supersu zip again. But my point is that during the time living with no os, I was a madman searching for a rom and didn't find one for my phone. You are a lot more experienced than me, that's a given. If you could find any stable ones, I will definitely follow the directions you gave me. Thank you again.

If your device is back on stock and working normally and you are rooted, try looking in to using the Xposed installer and its' modules to customize your stock ROM, with the right modules you can make your stock ROM as cool and feature packed as a custom ROM. Try the "L Speed" mod also.
I love learning more and more, day by day about living with my rooted phone. Is it possible that you can please give me basic direction so that I can get started with Xposed?
Hello,
Basically I'm trying to root my XZ(F8331) and trying to install a rom, but I've got a bit of an issue and need a complete backup of the entire phone before I proceed to root and rom the phone (as from my understanding it will wipe everything on my phone). So how would I go about doing so ? I'm on 7.1.1 and honestly cannot tolerate how slow my phone has become, also rom suggestions are welcome(looking for a stable, fast rom with a working camera). If there are other similar posts please link me them and I'll close this thread.
Thank you
