so I've done tons of research and lots of people
including me are complaining because there
are no roots or root methods for the new i545vrugof1 update for the galaxy s4 Verzion. for people who didn't take the Ota update, there are ways to keep your root when you update to of1 but for people who didn't take Ota update without flashing a rooted stock rom (muniz post) , there is no hope. you can't downgrade or root your device and you have no choice but to wait for a root method to come out or a new update. so anyone who is making a root for this specific firmware, please do so and help us out. I'm begging you XDA DEVELOPERS please help us out. and remember to spread awareness #rootvrugof1

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
Sorry to hear about your trouble but we cannot provide technical support nor can other members reply to your posts here on XDA Assist Fortunately, as you know, there is an XDA area dedicated to the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 at http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-verizon where you have already posted several times in the Q&A thread. That is the most likely place where members familiar with your device will be best able to guide you. Please be patient and give the experts plenty of time to respond since Verizon's locked bootloader makes some operations much more complicated than for other S4 variants.
Good luck!

Well..
I would like to root my at&t lg g2 d80010q before I update and go to kitkat. I have looked around the xda site for ways to do it but, frankly, things are scattered and, its making it difficult for me to understand what to do.
Is there someone here who can guide me to a thread in which it will help me root the device and than retain the root through the update..
any advice will be appreciated..
thank you.

here you go http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48709232&postcount=869 but I wil let you know if you root and update to kitkat you will lose any chance of recovery unless you follow this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2672931
I wanted to start a thread on this topic, as there currently is no root method available for these two GS5 variants. The CF-auto-root method provided below for most other GS5's currently does not work for Verizon and AT&T models:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2696537
An exploit root method is needed to root these devices - when information is learned, please add to this thread.
Please refer to the Verizon etc GS5 threads!
They have been added seperately to the so called "plain" GS5 threads.
Source Code
The source code is located at http://opensource.samsung.com/reception/receptionSub.do?method=sub&sub=F&searchValue=sm-g900a. I would root this myself, but I am busy. My phone's version is G900AUCU1ANCE and it is an AT&T phone without the Lookout and Yellow Pages update.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Even though it is not part of this thread, the Samsung Developer site (http://developer.samsung.com/develop) is broken on the latest browsers. If anyone wants to, a backup link to the Samsung Android API would be appreciated as I want to mess around with the fingerprint scanner and heart rate monitor when I have time.

You would root this yourself but you are busy? There is a $12,000 bounty for a root method so maybe you should reconsider if you actually have the talent to do so.

I so want to update this device to Kit Kat 4.4.2. It is stuck trolling at 4.1.2. I am tired of waiting for ATT to get around to releasing an update (BLOATWEAR INCLUDED). Is there any other way to do it? I have heard that rooting would allow me to do it but I don't know the first thing about rooting and don't want to brick my tablet because I use it at work on a daily basis.
Any help much appreciated. Sorry in advance if this question has been asked/answered. Been hunting solutions all day and eyes are worn out.
In order to flash a rom, stock or custom you will have to root your tablet first. Try this thread: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2430540 for tips on how to do it. There is always a certain risk involved in rooting/flashing so be sure to read about other users experience, before executing at own risk! Good Luck

Q&A for Temporary Root on the Verizon Note Edge
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for Temporary Root on the Verizon Note Edge. If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!

Kitkat is the only way for locked Samsung Note edges.
I wish I had read up on this phone first, not having root sucks, it's my damn phone. I'm not renting it or leasing so wtf. I also wish I had been learning this **** myself on all the other phones I had because there don't seem to be many people wit it or working on it. The s6 and edge variant were to close to coming out for this phone to really take off. I just liked this more than the s6's.
Service menu
Hi I am new to this forum but have been reading it for a while. Has anybody tried to enable hidden menus or service menu with the temporary root? Thank you, I will also try now.
Root Via stagefright
Hi all,
After a long time reading XDA forums I finally have an itch to post. Being thoroughly disappointed in the lock down of Verizon phones preventing root Ive heavily considered ditching Verizon and my UDP until Today!!
I've been reading up on the stagefright exploit and got to thinking how this could be used for good rather than bad. If this exploit allows the attacker to gain access to modify system files it would seem they have achieved root. Is it possible to use this exploit to get root to the Verizon customers with locked down phones?
Thanks in advance
I have done everything on every post telling me to downgrade from lollipop to 4.4.4 but no avail Downloaded firmware for my Verizon Variant at SamMobile, and both failed in Odin....What the powers that be do not tell you is that the exploit was patched in the lollipop update from 5.0.1 to 5.0.1 and it was pushed to most phones last month and some installed automatically and some deferred hut t he notifications kept coming and forced you to install at a certain point I deferred for 2 weeks and finally it installed ....So note to all other VZW edge users...The exploit they were using to gain root has been closed since the newest update....

After purchasing my Note 5 I received a series of three OTA updates which left me with build number LMY47X.N920TUVU2CIO5. Currently I can't find any info on this specific firmware. No rooting info. No documentation period. Not a single search result via Google. Does anyone have any info regarding this firmware? This is a U.S.
T-Mobile phone. Any help will be gratefully appreciated. Thanks!

Rooting the new CIO5 firmware is exactly the same procedure as rooting the original firmware.
You need arter97's kernel, twrp and supersu.
And you need to know how to root.
Good luck,
Have a great day.

All the information and step by step method for rooting is located in the liink below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-...-to-rooting-flashing-custom-recovery-t3200324
The rooting method for all N920T and variants are the same.
Just make sure that you get the correct arter97 custom kernel
version for your N920T phone.
Good luck,
Have a great evening!
