I tried to Jailbreak my Xperia E3 with a locked bootloader with the instructions found on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-e3/general/root-xperia-e3-d2203-locked-bl-t3075559
After flashing the new kernel, I am greeted with a dissapearing boot logo. PC Companion cannot recognise my device, despite being able to before flashing the kernel. When I try to connect my phone via usb, I always get a connection error from pc companion asking me to restart my phone and try again when it tries to install the adb drivers
Apparently, this problem can be fixed this by switching to mass storage mode, but how can I do this if my phone can't even turn on? :crying:
Please help

Didn't really get what you need help with.
Well, you cannot practically install adb drivers at the point where you are.
What you should do is connect your mobile in the fastboot mode (Volume up button while connecting usb cable) or flash mode (Volume down button while connecting usb cable). And maybe install fastboot (bootloader) drivers or flash (SEMC flash device) drivers.
Then maybe flash a ROM through which you could restore your backup which you hopefully made.
Hope that helps.
flash a stock rom via flashtool..

I think my device is in MTP mode as flashtool say your device should not in MTP mode, is there any way to change mode using flashtool or any other method?

Is your phone stuck at the Sony Bootloop?
If so the method that i've give you might work!
Which version of flashtools that use?
Dear Experts,
I Unlocked the Bootloader of My Xperia L using the official Sony way. But after the successful unlocking the Phone is not booting at all. It gets stuck at the Xperia colour theme loading... I gone through various posts and found a solution that I have to Flash my phone using flashtools.
Now I instaled flashtools as well as the required drivers. However when I do the flashing in flash mode, the device disconnects automatically and flashtools says that "make sure you are not in MTP mode". I remember that My phone was in MTP mode when i was unlocking the bootloader and the USB debugging was always on... Now after unlocking bootloader the USB Debugging is showing as off (can be seen in the attached file)
After reading couple more posts about MTP ... I understand that I can't successfully flash unless the phone is out of MTP mode, and USB debugging is on. As my mobile is not booting, I can not go to the settings and tick or untick any of the two.
Please help me with a way to do it. I am attaching a screen print of the flashtools for Ref....
It will be a great relief to me....
Thanks in Advance...

Every Time I connect the phone in flash mode. once it starts flashing process, the phone automatically disconnects and comes on in normal mode.

how to connect in flashmode without using the buttons?im stock in sony logo and i need to turn on usb debugging to use flashtool
1, the adb drivers aren't installed correctly in your pc
2, don't worry about usb debugging
Just connect the phone to the computer in flash mode by pressing vol down and then plug-in the usb cable to your phone.
Flash tool will recognise it automatically if the drivers are installed correctly
3, then reinstall the stock ROM with flash tool
That's it
You said your device is being disconnected while flashing so
When you start flashing from flash tool start the flashing process
(Without connecting the phone to pc)
After the FTF is extracted flash tool will ask to connect the device
Then just connect your device in flash mode

Hello,
Do you know how to install fastboot or flash mode drivers in Windows 10? Also, the flashtool for me is stuck on "please wait until the end of process", how to make it work?
Note: My device gets recognized in ADB when booted up, but does not when in fastboot or flashmode. (Plugging in cable while pressing vol. down)

the drivers will be on the flash tool folder just open the app then tick drivers for Xperia L (thoshan) and general fast boot drivers.
and use the latest flash tool if you can ( Now I am using a Mac so I have a flash tool which was made for apple. but I used to flash my phone using windows and this is the version of the flash tool "flashtool-0.9.18.5" and this worked fine for me ).
if anything else is needed just reply
My Oneplus One - 64GB was running LiquidSmooth's Alpha ROM.
I hadn't used the phone in like a month. A couple of days ago i thought there'd be an updated version so i just downloaded a later version. I think I flashed the 01-22 Build.
I did not do a full wipe however. (I realize now that It would have been a good idea to do a full wipe before the flash. :s )
I assumed that since the base of the ROM was the same lollipop, all I had to do was wipe cache/dalvik and flash the update.
Installation proceeded as usual and I wiped cache/dalvik(I'm never sure when to do this so i do it before and after install) once more and then Reboot System.
But the phone went on a bootloop for like 10minutes or so.
I tried to get into Recovery but it just wouldn't. It would just show the 1+ Logo and Powered by android screen and then turn off..
I did however manage to get into the fastboot mode by pressing power +vol up.
Now the problem is, the device doesn't show up in the command prompt when i type
Code:
fastboot devices
I uninstalled all the usb drivers from my pc.
Installed the Universal ADB drivers from kouch's site but still no progress..
Device manager still shows the phone as an unknown device.
What am I doing wrong? What can i do to get the phone to be recognized so I can flash the recovery and flash a new ROM?
It's related of firmware change. After 01.17.2015 you must flash the latest CM12 rom and then flash the rom you want.
That's a known "issue". Hope it helps.
Problem is:
1. I no longer have a working recovery(can't boot into recovery).
2. Rom doesn't boot, stuck in a bootloop.
3. Can get into fastboot mode, but pc doesn't recognize device and it doesn't show up when i type "fastboot devices".
I've already installed "Universal ADB Drivers from here -> http://www.koushikdutta.com/post/universal-adb-driver
What can i do to be able to access phone via fastboot?
Should i remove these drivers and try another driver? If so, which other driver should i install and test with?
I don't have any critical data on the phone, I just want to get it working again so my family members can decide who wants the phone.

Uninstall all drivers, reboot PC, install those universal drivers again, reboot PC, connect phone in fastboot mode, try fastboot again.

That's the order I did stuff in last time I believe. I'll try it again and report back
I tried my hands in android system first i start with rooting with kingroot pc app where i just need to plug my usb and click on start root in pc app, that's how i rooted my Sony Xperia S
then i unlock bootloader by sony official website Unlock your boot loader
After unlocking bootloader i tried to install latest sony walkman album and camera app which is modified for for Jelly Bean 4.1.2 with normal apk install but all failed
i saw somewhere that i need to install these app in recovery mode so i installed CWN app from playstore and it wasn't working well in my phone so i was just playing around and i clicked on reboot option
after sony logo phone stuck on boop animation for hours its same nothing change then i google lil how to come out of it then use fastboot command to install CWN first then TWRP recovery tool (fastboot flash boot recovery.img) it successfully installed since then whenever i turned my phone on i come to TWRP
In TWRP i tried factory reset, clear cache and also tried to do adb sideload but it failed but i didnt clear my internal memory and android OS
when i connect my phone with usb in windows XP while starting adb sideload it prompt me for driver but even after download driver from XDA and official Sony website both does not work with it and its end up with driver cannot installed. i can't even put any file in my phone so whatever i have to do is with pc only
In doing all this for 2 3 days my phone was on fastboot (blue light) then suddenly notification light turned into red light then i thought it can be stand by mode i tired to press power button ,vol button, combination buttons and also tired to charge with usb but no luck then i took out battery and charge it separately then put it back now its working as before (recovery mode )
So i stuck in TWRP recovery everytime i boot and i only have 2 option (that what i think )
do something with fastboot cuz adb is not detecting devices at all and TWRP
so guys please help me to boot into my android OS I dont want to install any other os i want to run my old os and please tell me for next time how to run os and recovery mode as i want without stuck anywhere
Still no answer
Please super experts i need your help please help me guys
SOLVED
as i said i only can turn my phone in fastboot mode so i download stock rom for xperia s and rename ftf into zip then unzip in new folder then i took out only kernel file then in fastboot
i typed
fastboot flash boot kernel.sin
fastboot reboot
then i successfully back to my old OS but it was not complete as i want so i relock bootloader by flashtool then run an update from sony pc companion right now i m installing back all the apps
Hi!
My power button is broken, and my phone is turned off.
It currently has 100% percent battery.
I tried turning it on using adb - but when my phone is connected adb doesnt recognize it, and in the device manager it shows as "Sony MASS Storage Device".
I also tried using fastboot but when I enter my phone into fastboot both adb and fastboot won't recognize it, and it shows up as "S1boot Fastboot", and says it doesn't have the proper drivers. I tried installing the drivers from the Sony website at this stage but they won't install.
I did install the drivers when the phone was connected normally.
What should I do?
Thanks!
I don't exactly know about the problem but you may want to try flashtool's driver. http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php
Download and install flashtool.
then go to C:\Flashtool\drivers\Flashtool-drivers.exe and install "Z3 Device Driver".
