Just got the the Tmobile N920T and am not able to find PhilZ installation instructions to start arter97's kernel process. The download link is broken for version 6 at the developers thread so I'm really not sure how to get this started. Any guidance is appreciated. No SD card so Odin preferred if possible.

1: copy arter97's zip file kernel and supersu to your internal sdcard
2: odin flash arter97's philz recovery
3: power down the phone
4: go into philz recovery mode by pressing the home/power/vol-up keys
5: flash the zip file kernel and supersu in recovery
That's it!
Good luck!

Thanks for the quick response. I am getting stuck flashing recovery @ "NAND Write Start!!" In Odin 3.07 and 3.09 for some reason. Maybe should be using another version? USB debugging and OEM unlock enabled.

Worked like a charm, thanks a lot man!! Looked most promising out so far but confusing as hell for a guy that some what knows his way around. Confirmed with root checker.
Am I missing something?
I can't find "arter97's zip file kernel and supersu "
I downloaded and installed Supersu already from the play store.
I rooted via "noble"
and as of right now I have twrp.
I would like to switch to philz
When I go to Arter97's page I am only able to download a tar file.
There is no zip, and if I try to flash the tar file via odin, odin force closes.
Thanks in advance.

Check this out...
I'm providing you complete folder of mine which has basic stuffs like custom recoveries, ODIN & root.zip
GALAXY Ace Plus - Basic stuff
- First from above link go into ODIN Software folder & download that software.
- Then from Custom recoveries folder download any one recovery which you like either CWM or TWRAP
(here I assume you know how to flash this custom recovery using ODIN)
- Next go in GALAXY Ace Plus ROOT folder & download RootSGAP.zip
- Place it in your SD Card.
- Boot in CWM
& flash that zip through SD card
- Reboot
- Done... you have rooted SGAP

After a couple of seconds it reboots.

Sadly, guys, this method didn't work on my SM-N900. I've tried all listed methods 3 or 4 times, both for chainfire and TWRP, none have rooted my device. TWRP is accessible from recovery, installed the UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.69 file, no go.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Did the Chainfire through Odin and it wont allow me to reboot the phone. Its stuck on the GS5 page. Is there another file I can run. Says Recovery is not Seandroid Enforcing. I tried a different version of Odin. Not sure on how to get it to run all the way through the process. Still on 4.4.2

Chainfires cf root have to flash a previous kernel
Since you are tripping knox i recommend
Download supersu zip to phone
Flash philz
Install supersu in philz
Reboot
Update supersu/binaries
Profit

Hello well I went back to stock then updated to Lollipop now I cant seem to get the autoroot to work any help would be greatly appreciated i have done most of the troubleshooting and still no go. Here are my steps just in case I power off phone put into bootloader then I flash autoroot file then it fails I immediately unplug phone pullout battery then I put into bootloader again I open up another odin then I flash the twrp then that fails as well no root after that any help once again would be appreciated thanks in advance
use odin 3.10

"use AP" to flash:

then flash twrp:

install supersu for sd or storage:

reboot
I might have a busted phone I guess I have tried your steps that or I am doing something wrong can you please give me step by step on what to do I am sorry for the big inconvenience thanks again
You could always download the stock ROM zip and open it up and Odin the file inside to get you at stock lollipop and try to use the autoroot process through Odin again.

ok, you need to copy the kernel file to the phone memory.
Then flash the cwm file using odin.
Then reboot to recovery and flash the kernel that is stored on your phone memory.
Then when you exit CWM, it will prompt you to root, so agree to it.
You need the right cwm for your model of ohone by the way.

I have the same question.
Does anybody have root on SM-N915FY?
I tried all kinds of cwm and twrp and latest superSU (2.46, Beta 2.52).
Recovery is rightly installed via Odin, superSU correctly flashed (without errors).
Where I made a mistake?
Thank you in advance for a reply and have a nice day!

Yes it works . I have N915FY rooted using twrp 2.8.7.0 recovery and su Beta 2.52 + Micky387 kernel.
note the it will not boot without Micky387 kernel after flashing su Beta 2.52. you must flash Micky387 kernel
I'm pretty sure this has been flogged to death but YOU NEED A ROOT ENABLED KERNEL to get root access...
This has been said many times now with new threads popping up with the same topic, for all variants...
