Need some help with Seandroid - Sprint Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Did the Chainfire through Odin and it wont allow me to reboot the phone. Its stuck on the GS5 page. Is there another file I can run. Says Recovery is not Seandroid Enforcing. I tried a different version of Odin. Not sure on how to get it to run all the way through the process. Still on 4.4.2

Got it fixed.. Installed Philz tar and it worked.

I re installed a new file. The one that is told to use in the rooting process is messed up. I used the Philz NK4 tar and it worked
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=22018

Chainfires cf root have to flash a previous kernel
Since you are tripping knox i recommend
Download supersu zip to phone
Flash philz
Install supersu in philz
Reboot
Update supersu/binaries
Profit

ok, you need to copy the kernel file to the phone memory.
Then flash the cwm file using odin.
Then reboot to recovery and flash the kernel that is stored on your phone memory.
Then when you exit CWM, it will prompt you to root, so agree to it.
You need the right cwm for your model of ohone by the way.

I have the same question.
Does anybody have root on SM-N915FY?
I tried all kinds of cwm and twrp and latest superSU (2.46, Beta 2.52).
Recovery is rightly installed via Odin, superSU correctly flashed (without errors).
Where I made a mistake?
Thank you in advance for a reply and have a nice day!

Yes it works . I have N915FY rooted using twrp 2.8.7.0 recovery and su Beta 2.52 + Micky387 kernel.
note the it will not boot without Micky387 kernel after flashing su Beta 2.52. you must flash Micky387 kernel
I'm pretty sure this has been flogged to death but YOU NEED A ROOT ENABLED KERNEL to get root access...
This has been said many times now with new threads popping up with the same topic, for all variants...

This method is safe. I'm using a rooted j200GU now. Unless you're skipping something in the process.

How do I root with stock 5.1??

I've tried flashing twrp with odin and it doesn't work. I get errors like 0success/0fail. How do I root after upgrading my firmware to lollipop? The other threads on this haven't helped me. Also, when I try to use odin to flash the recovery files then reboot it says there were firmware issues and then I have to reflash the stock firmware from Samsung again to get the tablet to boot. This makes me think maybe you can't root lollipop on the note 10.1 yet?? Any help will be appreciated.
Update recovery to latest version and flash SuperSU.zip
So flash recovery via odin then use twrp to flash SuperSU?

yes i don't know how to flash a zip without a custom recovery. I've tried flashing supersu, and two different roms made for rooting lolipop on the note and everything i flash involving root makes it bootloop.

Which model is your note? N8000?
SMP 600
Wrong forum, try here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-10-2014
Similar Situation
I also have a Galaxy Note 10.1 (from USCellular) and I rooted it using Framaroot, which I downloaded onto my tablet from the Google play store. Before using Framaroot, I tried "CA_Autoroot" but it did not have the specific ".tar.md5" file for my device-- I saw the same message that you saw (0 success 0 fail).
I don't know much beyond this. I did install CPU-Z and Titanium backup, two utilities I have found to be useful.
I figured it out. I was using a rom for the wrong note....

Managed to Soft brick my S6

So, I a getting the Samsung boot logo after trying this http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...xtrestolite-deodexed-mod-edition-1-0-t3094423
I have a 920W8, this happened after flashing the modem and bootloader that it recommended. I have tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66351355&postcount=11733
I cant get into TWRP (I got into it once, automatically right after install), but I can get into Odin, but the stock firmware fails on the system.img install.
Nevermind, managed to flash up to 6.0.1, but now I can't get TWRP to stick without bricking it, so no XtreStoLite.
Try to flash twrp using Flashify app. It'll allow you to flash and then boot right into twrp and flash whatever rom you like. I had the same issue as you before and this did it for me.

No love unfortunately, even with flashify it just stalls at the boot screen. I can use Odin to reflash Chain-fire to fix, but I can't do anything beyond that?

I'm in the same boat as well, what exactly did you do to fix it?

Tried flashing TWRP stuck at "recovery is not SEandroid enforcing"

So I updated my s6 to 6.0.1 OTA. Then decided to root using CF-root.
Now when I try installing the custom recovery it just stays at the screen. I can boot normally & into download mode. But it won't boot into recovery mode. I downloaded the latest version for my phone model and it still doesn't seem to work. Any ideas?
Also, what is SEandroid?
And another question off topic. I usually use textdroider to change my dpi on my previous phones but it doesn't seem to work for my s6. Any ideas?

I use arter97 twrp 3.0.0.2 and when enter recovery mode, the phone show like that but it work well
The worst is waiting to see if the flash worked or not... it stays on the boot screen for a while :fingers-crossed:
If you flash the 3.0.2.1 version of twrp from here this issue should be resolved.

Awesome that worked! Thanks! One last question... My phone is encrypted and because of that, I'm not able to back up my phone, at least that is my thought process, is there anyway around that? Also does this mean i can't install zip files either?
