The Moto X Pure will be fully bootloader unlockable.
Make sure you download and Install
Minimal ADB and Fastboot

Unlock. Flash recovery. Flash su
Maxx'd out Kit Kat
Don't have a DE yet myself, but this is what I expect you would have to do:
1 Unlock bootloader (unlocker needed, download from motorola.com)
2 install custom recovery
3 flash a superuser.zip or run superSU app with recovery option when updating the binary
Thanks wasn't sure how it worked will be my first developer edition

unlock, flash the twrp from the motoX thread (there are 2 one for 4.2.2 and one for 4.4) with fastboot, reboot the bootloader and go into recovery, reboot from recovery and it will ask you if you want to root, swype to root and you're done!

Do you have the fastboot.exe? and/or the Android SDK installed? Excellent guide for installing the SDK can be found here: http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/t...et-up-adb-and-fastboot-for-your-windows-7-pc/

I assume this has resolved itself by now but there was an unrelated play store issue a couple days ago that should have fixed itself.

hi guys, I've tried to install on my moto g cyanogenmod's last nightly which I've downloaded from the original cyanogenmod site, I've done everything as I've always done: wipe data, cache, dalvik, format system. Then flash cm11,gapps and pink kernel. But when I reboot the phone it won't boot and stuck on the cm11 logo, I've also wait 20 minute but notthing happen. I've also re installed the originale firmware just to be sure but there seems to be no way to make cm11 start. Could Someone help me? Thx
Which Moto G do you have?

The standard one, noto dual SIM, not the GPE edition, I've bought it on amazon uk
I usually try the following in this order
1. Download Rom again. You may have a bad download.
2. Change to a different recovery
3. Sometimes I'll try using the ADB sideboard command in TWRP.
Give those a try.

Silly question but the wife wants me to ask you'll... Stock unrooted on the latest update... Every time she reboots her phone the boot logo changes color she said she has saw 4 different colors at this point... Does everyone's ultra do this? Anyway to make a default or use just one color? its driving her crazy... She wanted me to change it but my Boot loader is unlocked and I'm not sure if you can fastboot a boot logo on a locked device... Thank you kindly for your time...

Yeah that's normal (stock.). You can fastboot flash a new boot logo with either locked or unlocked bootloader. Check in moto x forum under themes and apps. There's quite a few to choose from.

I have a few questions before I convert to moto g
1. Does the Moto Tool actually convert your phone? (Does it work?)
2. Is their anyone with the GPE boot animation I can flash??
3. Will converting let me download Google apps from the play store that are only for GPE specific phone?
And the most important one..
What custom recoveries work with GPE variant?

None care to help?

1. It just flashes the GPE firmware. Don't know how you define "converting" something.
2. I have no idea what you meant by this.
3. Yes. At least that was the case with the Googne Now Launcher which I desperately wanted.
And the recovery you use doesn't really matter.

you realise you could have had the Google launcher without changing to GPE.
the apk isn't exactly hard to find.

The stock ROM is almost pure stock anyway. You can just Google the bootanimation for xhdpi.

GPE variant works with all if i remember correctly but i recommend TWRP. I "converted" my XT1028 (Verizon) to GPE and stopped receiving 3g.
I am trying to unroot my Nexus 5. I need to change bootloader from HHZ11k to HHZ11d. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Why? How are you trying to unroot?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
There's no need to change the bootloader to unroot the device.
If you have to for some other reason , then download the 4.4 factory image from google(I believe that's the one which had the old bootloader? ) and flash the bootloader img file via fastboot.
