Boot logo - Droid Ultra Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Silly question but the wife wants me to ask you'll... Stock unrooted on the latest update... Every time she reboots her phone the boot logo changes color she said she has saw 4 different colors at this point... Does everyone's ultra do this? Anyway to make a default or use just one color? its driving her crazy... She wanted me to change it but my Boot loader is unlocked and I'm not sure if you can fastboot a boot logo on a locked device... Thank you kindly for your time...

Yeah that's normal (stock.). You can fastboot flash a new boot logo with either locked or unlocked bootloader. Check in moto x forum under themes and apps. There's quite a few to choose from.

Nexus S stuck after Rooting

Hey there guys i have had my nexus s for 2 days and after listening to my friend i decided to root my phone. I am a complete noob at android phones and after rooting, the nexus s rebooted to a locked screen and I dont know what to do from there. It wont let me go through the recovery either. any kind of help would be great.
Could you describe the way you rooted the phone/point us to the guide you followed?
Or could you describe the "locked screen"?
it is just a black screen with the google logo and a lock symbol that i cant click on.
I followed the steps mentioned in the addictive tips site. xda wont let me post the link to the site. This is the title of the post on the site:

What version of gingerbread are you running, 2.3.4? I think superboot only works with 2.3.3 and below.

Some people in the Modaco thread have had the same problem: http://android.modaco.com/content/g...-colour-revert-superboot-rooting-the-nexus-s/
What you are going to have to do is flash clockworkmod recovery then flash the full 2.3.4 update. Have a look in the Nexus S part of the forum for the links and instructions
If you are still stuck, you may want to start a thread in the Nexus S forums.

so i basically went into recovery mode and did a hard reset but now all that shows when i reboot is the google logo. i believe the rom is deleted. is there a good tutorial to install the stock rom 2.3.4? thanks for the reply
You are going to need fastboot working.
You can find everything you need in the Nexus S forums.

Pretty sure you're right. When I ran 1.84 stock, even rooted, debloated with CWR, no message. Once I installed a ROM with modified kernel, it appeared.
This has been covered many times, just search. If everything is stock (ROM, recovery, etc) then you will not get it. Stock kernel + TWRP recovery means when you boot into recovery you will get it because it is not stock. Get it?
Sorry I forgot to mention it's not just happening when boot into recovery, it happens everytime I turn the phone on normally

Well custom ROM + modded stock kernel or any other kernel = the text. It's nothing go worry about, I don't understand why everyone is freaking out about it

Are you sure?
I think it's only due to the kernel because i had trickdroid with stock kernel and it didn't show the message, when i changed the kernel (not the rom) the message appeared.
I may be wrong of course

No, you're right. torxx is using the stock kernel on TrickDroid 7.0 and 7.1. As long as htc won't publish the sources for its Android 4.04 kernel, there will be no alternative kernels. So besides booting into recovery there won't be any messages using the stock kernel.

Trust me, I know the feeling. I was like this when I first hour my phone no worries mate!
@others who posted - correct. Torxx uses the stock kernel. Stock kernel means no message TWRP recovery means message because it isn't stock.

Check your kernel version. If it's the same, there is possibly not much you can do about.
Most recent update of my issue
I have flashed the newest ruu (3 uk) downloaded from the ruu collection post and got rid of the message. I also rooted and installed custom recovery on my phone and the message still did not appear
I attached a screen shot of my software info
Btw I tried to flash trick droid 7.1 (without flashing the boot.img)after done this, the message did not appear however my phone is stuck with a boot loop just after the boot sound (and no boot animation). The last time I installed trickdroid I flashed boot.img and everything went fine however I got the development only message, so I suppose the issue is with the the kernel in the boot.IMG I flashed last te when I installed trickdroid
If trick droid is based on stock kernel how come I can't get it to work on my stock phone? (rooted and custom recovery installed)

It's based off the 2.21 Euro release. If you installed any other RUU, you need to flash the boot.img either via fastboot or TWRP. This may result in the development message again (not sure what ROM gave me the message, but it was still there on TD 7.1)
I have the same kernel version as in the image rootrider posted in post #13, but I always have the red text on every boot.
What may make the difference, is whether the boot image is signed. The boot image from a RUU is signed. I bet the boot image from torxx is not.

[Q] cyanogenmod stuck on boot logo

hi guys, I've tried to install on my moto g cyanogenmod's last nightly which I've downloaded from the original cyanogenmod site, I've done everything as I've always done: wipe data, cache, dalvik, format system. Then flash cm11,gapps and pink kernel. But when I reboot the phone it won't boot and stuck on the cm11 logo, I've also wait 20 minute but notthing happen. I've also re installed the originale firmware just to be sure but there seems to be no way to make cm11 start. Could Someone help me? Thx
Which Moto G do you have?

The standard one, noto dual SIM, not the GPE edition, I've bought it on amazon uk
I usually try the following in this order
1. Download Rom again. You may have a bad download.
2. Change to a different recovery
3. Sometimes I'll try using the ADB sideboard command in TWRP.
Give those a try.

@Tab stuck on boot screen

First of all sorry if this is wrong section feel free to move to relevant section.
I have a @tab 10 dual core. We got them at work and now the company have gone bust so can't send it back.
It is stuck on the main boot screen I have used the rockbatchtool to reflash the firmware still no joy. At work we had the 13.3 version as well and they sent me a versus tab firmware for that and it worked on the 13.3 @tab, so I have tried the same for the 10 but no joy just a white screen.
I can't force cwm on there as there doesn't seem to be any way of getting it into boot loader as there are no volume buttons.
Does anyone have any idea or if I posted it to them they could have a play in the UK
Thanks

find original firmware for your tab or any similar tablet and flash it
otherwise your tablet is of no use.
I have done that.
Got the original firmware and flashed it back on and still same sticks on @tab boot screen.

[Q] Preparing for KitKat: Return to OTA Path from any ROM...

I used this solution, but in the last update, gave problem, brick my phone. Screwed up my boot loader (I think) to restart enters only in fastboot mode. To use the phone, I have to reboot and choose Normal Boot.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
PS: I did the reflash with stock rom 4.1.2 XT925, error occurs in 'partition' but finishes installing the rom. KK updated to the stock, but the above mentioned problem remains.
Another, forgot to put in the post open1your1eyes0 that this solution is only for the XT926. That screwed with my phone.
Sorry for my English.
Nobody?

It explains about 3 posts down in that thread how to use with 925. Either way, you'll need to flash stock FW to get you started fresh.
