[Q] cyanogenmod stuck on boot logo - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi guys, I've tried to install on my moto g cyanogenmod's last nightly which I've downloaded from the original cyanogenmod site, I've done everything as I've always done: wipe data, cache, dalvik, format system. Then flash cm11,gapps and pink kernel. But when I reboot the phone it won't boot and stuck on the cm11 logo, I've also wait 20 minute but notthing happen. I've also re installed the originale firmware just to be sure but there seems to be no way to make cm11 start. Could Someone help me? Thx

Which Moto G do you have?

The standard one, noto dual SIM, not the GPE edition, I've bought it on amazon uk

I usually try the following in this order
1. Download Rom again. You may have a bad download.
2. Change to a different recovery
3. Sometimes I'll try using the ADB sideboard command in TWRP.
Give those a try.

I think you cant revert to lower android versions right now because of changed partitions oder something like that... im not sure whats the problem! restore with cwm should help but it's a temporal fix

Moto g Downgrade problem

i have motorola moto g indian dual sim version XT1033
i already updated 4.4.4 through OTA
then i rooted and unlock bootloader and install custom roms like crdroid n5 experience
but i am not satisifed with custom rom (bugs sometime stuck poor camera quality etc..)
so i decided go back to stock rom
i already have 4.4.2 firmware zip file
i nstalled firrmware through mfastbot v2
but get error something like this
Ready to flash signed images!
OK: (time)
I do fastboot flash partition gpt.bin and I get:
Preflash validation failed!
SST lock failure!
pls anyone help me
or anyone upload 4.4.4 retail dualsim firmware or download link
Downgrade is always very dangerous. You can brick the phone easily.
You could try this:
XT1033_RETAIL-BR-DS_4.4.4_KXB21.14-L1.40_38_cid12_CFC_1FF_SVC.xml.zip
It's Brazilian Retail Global GSM Dual-SIM 4.4.4 firmware, so should work for you through fastboot.
Thanks dlink

The first command will fail if you are downgrading...it is supposed to fail...don't worry...just ignore it and skip it and continue with the other commands...

The procedure for 4.4.2 and 4.4.4 is the same for all models...All you have to do is flash the updated recovery and the SuperSU zip

I tried each n every latest rom versions stuck with same problem . since I got this problem with all possible roms for moto g then there should be problem with the way of flashing or with my device.

Well they work just fine for me... The most fail proof method would be reflashing the stock firmware and then flashing cm11 again...That will definitely work...Which network provider are you using?

I am using N5 Dual Experience R8.6..2 and facing no issues as you have mentioned. Try to update recovery, and then before flashing any rom do these steps, in this order :
1 Wipe data/factory reset
2 Wipe Cache partition
3 Go to advance and wipe Dalvik cache
4 Go to Mounts and Storage and then Format system
5 Install zip from sdcard.
I am using Philz recovery. Try to flash N5 Dual, it should solve the problems that you are facing.
Bro can you provide the links for philz recovery and N5 dual..? Thanks added

First I would recommend reflashing the stock Asian firmware...

[Q] Preparing for KitKat: Return to OTA Path from any ROM...

I used this solution, but in the last update, gave problem, brick my phone. Screwed up my boot loader (I think) to restart enters only in fastboot mode. To use the phone, I have to reboot and choose Normal Boot.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
PS: I did the reflash with stock rom 4.1.2 XT925, error occurs in 'partition' but finishes installing the rom. KK updated to the stock, but the above mentioned problem remains.
Another, forgot to put in the post open1your1eyes0 that this solution is only for the XT926. That screwed with my phone.
Sorry for my English.
Nobody?

It explains about 3 posts down in that thread how to use with 925. Either way, you'll need to flash stock FW to get you started fresh.

[Recovery][GPE] CWM Touch for GPE

I ported CWM using CWM for GPE and CWM Touch for Motorola Edition images.
How to install:
Connect Moto G with GPE firmware to computer in bootloader mode, open CMD or Terminal (for Linux and Mac OS X), choose file location as current folder and paste this:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery CWM_GPE_touch_falcon.img
Bugs:
On Lollipop have some screen freezes, but touch and all features work fine.
Download:

I didn't flash other ROMs instead installed GPE, but it flashes other zips fine.
Maybe CM 12 must begin support GPE file system, if everyone have problems with it.
So does this work any better than TWRP ??

It works for both, as long as the recovery is built with f2fs support, /cache and /system still use ext4 on xt1032.
