S6 Edge 5.1.1 G925F TWRP - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I just got my S6 Edge 5.1.1 G925F about 2 weeks ago and I want to install XtreStoLite Deo-Mod Edition ROM. I've looked everywhere and I can't seem to find a good way to install TWRP recovery. I am rooted with UniKernel v8 on stock firmware. Any help would be grateful to anyone that can help. Thank you.

Go to https://twrp.me/ and download the 2.8.7.1 recovery img file for your S6 it must be 2.8.7.1 not 2.8.7.0 or lower then once downloaded copy it to the root of storage (or just download the img from the phone). Once you have done this download the app flashify once that is downloaded open the app grant it root access tap flash recovery then choose a file and navigate to where you saved the img once it flashes tab reboot and you will be in TWRP you can now make a backup or do whatever or just reboot back into the OS.

Does the Edge use the same file as the normal international S6?

On the Edge section of the forum. I think the working ones are unofficial builds so you have to make sure to get the correct one.

Hello,
Has anybody tried it? Can you provide more details on the changelog or at least noticeable changes/improvements?
Also, I am from another country (Romania ... Still Europe). If I flash this will I brick it?

Not sure why your not getting updates , as long as your using a n9005 32gb version you should be fine installing that update through Odin . think there's a 16gb Hong Kong n9005 which will not work with the UK updates.

I have the XXUBMJ1 on my phone. Rooted via CF-Root. So as I understand, I rooted in that I flashed a pre-rooted firmware. Can I just flash this one via ODIN? It's a european SM-N9005 model and I really need root for wanam and NFC-Unlocker to work. Do I loose root when I flash this?
Yes flash via ODIN then re CF-Auto Root

Hmmm. I thought that CF-Autoroot had updated my firmware when I applied it. Is there a step by step tut somewhere? Like, which file goes where...
Aaah, forgot. Does updating delete any files? I wouldn't want to completely set up my phone from scratch.

I successfully rooted indian note 3 neo N750 without tripping knox to 1 and other guy name Himming he also rooted his phone N7505 European without tripping knox to 0
Steps
1 . Just download kingroot From the link below and install it
2 . disable Ur lock screen to none......
3 . then open king root and touch start
It will take two min to root
Note . Your internet should be on
Try at your own risk
busy box will change the system from official to custom.
If you want to have knox on 0x0 don't flash any recovery.
Installing any custom recovery will change knox to 0x1. So don't try installing any recovery

As i said above i have a samsung galaxy j700 f amd it is rooted have trwp as recovery.
I want to know how to update it via smart switch and if twrp will be replace during the process..
Thanks
Smart switch is painful. You'll need an internet connection. Aaand lots of time. Why not download the rom and use Odin.
You lose trwp and root either way.
Check on www.updato.com for a fast download. You can even use a download accelerator ?

I guess may be the IRAN region Rom is not Suitable for this Phone I want to return to original rom but I want to be sure of the correct one . So my Question is How to determine the original region of my cellphone?
I don't know how to do that.

Tnx for reply. I found that my phone region have been Taiwan (not thailand). Do you think flashing thailand MM rom will not damage it as now I have overheating problem with Iran LP rom, although I'm not sure the problem is Rom related.
Then flash flash a Taiwan MM Rom before you give up.
