So everybody with the LG G STYLO has this update! How can I update my phone without a computer? I am rooted and I am on 5.1.1 I have recovery and root. Is there a way I can flash a zip containing the update and maybe flash another zip for the kernel and firmware update?!
Anybody?
Somebody has the stock rom of this phone?
i remember there being a .zip to flash but i can't seem to find it for you guys and here it is to flash using a Computer http://androidcreations.weebly.com/lg-g-stylo-update.html and this is only for t-mobile/metro
Yeah I'm looking for that zip file but I haven't found it.

i am reading some thread about how to create a flashable zip from KDZ will take little time (Creating Zip + reflashing old kDZ + testing flashable-Update-Complete-zip + + Uploading not a small file btw) so be patient will be doing both T-Mobile and Metro PCS.
Sweet heck yeah! Have you made any progress on cm 12?

First of all YOU SHOULD NEVER FLASH a ROM via Flashify , Flashify is better for just flashing Custom Recovery's like TWRP and back up current Recovery and Boot but NEVER for Flashing Roms. beside the Boost/Sprint Variant are Lock Bootloader meaning there is not safe way or there is no way to flash roms on your device, one thing is been Rooted and another is having custom recovery (TWRP).
my best answer is Try doing a factory Reset by booting manually there. use this video as guide same way with the Stylo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ogBvzbPikc
if that doesn't work you need to check if there is a KDZ so you can do a Hard Flash (i really don't remember how they call it LoL )
copy and paste and change where it say " yourimei " and enter/type YOUR imei there if there is a KDZ file it will show a link to download just download that KDZ file and google how to flash using KDZ file.
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=yourimei
Hope that help.

Hey bro,
You don't need any DLL file.
To flash it you simply have to use same LGUP version used for LG G5 and follow same steps like you flash for KDZ files.
Just tried and it works perfectly
Also, LGUP can take dz file for upgrade (data stays intact).
is it possible to insert SuperSu directly into the restore file to have a pre rooted stock rom, while we wait for TWRP??

That's what @tungkick did.
He made prerooted .tot for G5 and .dz for G Pad X 8.0
Both are T-Mobile version with unlocked bootloader with missing fastboot commands.

Actually, locked bootloader does not matter anymore.
You have to do reverse engineering with hex editor to retrieve keys in order to bypass the bootloader. This is how Samsung Tab A6 can be rooted and TWRP installed even the bootloader is tight locked (and you have to patch the kernel to change SE Linux policy).

It would be great to bring all our computers together to crack the code like mining bit coins. How neat would that be.
Are you guys optimistic for root on the V20? Or will it be a similar story to that of the Note 7 with 99.9% stable root?
Thanks for your efforts.

If your using the image posted you can use LGUP, if your using LG Bridge it will download the image for you.
You need to be on a stock ROM I believe, I flashed the stock odexed rom. You can try it on a custom ROM though and see what happens.
If you want to use LGUP then you can download the above images.

It just overwrote trwp when I updated.
my upgrade steps were as follows:
backup anything you might need from the internal memory - /sdcard
backup anything you might need with TiBackup (just in case)
boot into TWRP and make a backup of /data
update to 10j via LG Bridge or LGUP (you will be returned to stock after this)
boot up and follow @jcadduono's post on rooting H91810d with recowvery
his detailed guide will leave you in TWRP with a freshly formatted and unencrypted /data
restore backup of /data in TWRP
done. profit.
NOTE: crucial you backup your /data in TWRP prior to updating because after updating your /data partition will be encrypted and you will no longer have root. once your /data partition is encrypted TWRP won't be able to see it. I believe you can still root with an encrypted /data where you'll then be able to use TiBackup to backup your data, but this method would be a slow restore versus restoring via TWRP.
Here's another mirror for those interested. All three files are in a ZIP since Android File Host doesn't play well with uploading KDZ files.

You just need to build the file tree and make a script to tell them where to go, I believe.
Or we could at the least flash a 10j based rom and then install the system img over it. Just need the extracted imgs from the kdz that way.
Um so after updating no more TWRP and still can root bit confused here?

updating and rebooting will revert you back to stock... you'll need to redo the steps for recowvery to install TWRP and root again... you'll also need to backup your device as you'll need to wipe /data to unencrypt

Can I just take the OTA to 10j and wont cause any bootloops? then just re-root?
Is this 10j rootable as 10i? Someone did it?
Has anyone got H91810j rooted? Yes? Link me to a source with walkthrough.

Yes its possible to root the 10J patch. You need to do the commands manually.
I've ran the commands manually and I get confused about the .xml copy being put into local_manifests. I made the directory in my C: drive but Its a windows not linux computer I have access to. Does that matter?
So I get to the manual inputting part, right... And prompt says can not find file
at the first manual input of dirty cows command prompt

Just wanted to thank you, because you're a lifesaver. I bricked my phone (unfixable TWRP loop), and I tried downloading the KDZ several times from LG-firmwares, but it was extremely slow and always ended up failing. Then I found your Drive link, and approximately 9 hours after bricking the damn thing, I was finally able to fix it. Learned my lesson, too. I'll never again mess around with a new phone BEFORE acquiring any and all recovery tools, especially from a new manufacturer (I'm used to HTC).

Hi guys, in need of your help. I was originally on H91810D rooted and decided to try and install the OTA update not knowing that I would get stuck in a TWRP loop. I've downloaded H91810j KDZ file along with both LGUP and LG Bridge to try and flash the KDZ onto my phone, but neither UP or Bridge detects my phone connected to the PC, but Windows 10 detects that my phone is connected. I'm stuck sitting in TWRP and no matter what I try, it won't work. Any suggestions on what I can do to get through this? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
I am on 10A with root. Do I flash a 20C zip or will I brick it?
Do I have to update to each different version?
Thanks for any help.
Update via lg Bridge.
just connect your phone and pressing update button.
To answer the question, I flashed to 10D via Twrp, then to 20C.
