I have an S6 5.1.1 dual sim G9200 from CHINA (no Google Play Services etc).
Kernel 3.10.61-5369277 [email protected] #1 Mon 10 Aug 2015
Build number LMY47X.G9200ZCU1BOH2
Knox Premium version SDK 2.4.1 Standard SDK 5.4.1
I understand there is only 1 other G9200 dual sim sold and that is from Hong Kong. The beauty of the HK version is that it has Google.
I'm an amateur but can follow instructions well.
I simply want to change from standard Chinese firmware as shown above to standard Hong Kong firmware such as G9200 ZHU1BOGB or G9200ZZH1BOGB or G9200ZHU1BOGB so that I get Google etc. By the way, what is the difference between the 3 HK versions I've listed?
hi, I also need to do so, or at least have a way to install the GAPPS on this fw...
thanks!
I also need the same. Any solution?
The best (and maybe the only) solution is to root and install GAPPS
Could you give me some guidance on how to do that? I have never rooted a phone, so I would like to be careful. It is also the first smart phone I am using.
- I understand PingPong root does not work with Android 5.1.1.
- Is there a tutorial that would work for this specific phone and configuration (see original post)?
- Should I use ODIN?
- What will be the consequences (tripping KNOX, loss of features, risks, ...)?
- Can I go back to the original state of the phone after rooting? If yes, is there something special to do so that it is possible to go back?
- Should I replace G9200ZCU1BOH2 with G9200ZHU1BOH2 or one in the original post?
Thanks a lot!

Hi everybody
I have a Korean Note 3 Model SM-N900L (Carrier U+).
Is there available CF-Auto-Root for this specific carrier? My current Android release is 4.4.2 CSC N900LLGTENAA.
Furthermore my HS's Modem is set on the Korean frequencies and not on the Italian Vodafone so LTE does'nt work. . Is this problem fixable somehow?
Any help or suggestion is welcome.

I want to say it could work on your board, CF-auto root was released for Samsung devices Galaxy s2 and up while everything below with gingerbread you would have to use a one click app to root it such as z4root or GingerBreak.
I understood CF auto root was released for many Note 3 model.
For instance is available for SM-N9005 , 900S, 900 etc.
I cannot find the file for my 900L. The other two rooting methods you mention (z4root or gingerbreak) are quite unknown to me.
Do they work ?
Thank you

I believe CF-Auto-Root also works for the N900L if you download the 900S (SKT version) because the 3 carriers use the same method.
And yes, somebody did confirm that LG works if you use the SK file.
But you could listen to jisoo's advise (which I would recommend):
Quote by jisoo:
CF-Auto-Root temporarily replaces your stock recovery to install SuperSU. It then tries to restore the original recovery, but obviously this will cause problems if your device is not well supported.
If you are going to install CWM anyway, I would suggest you just flash the SuperSU package after you have flashed CWM with Odin. The advantage is that you can take a full nandroid backup before rooting, in case something goes wrong.
For CWM, you can use the SKT version from here:. This has been reported as working on the LGU+ model, and I can personally attest to it working on my KT Note 3.
Thank you
Can you let me have a brief step by step procedure?
The step about how to install superSU package after CWM is not very clear to me. I believe CF autoroot authomatically install super su ...or not.
also which is the meaning of " your device is not very well supported"?
XDA ....always one step beyond
Thank you!!

Hi, that means that I don't really recommend CF-Auto-Root because it just keepa recovery. So what I would recommend is to flash CWM at Odin (make sure you've downloaded SuperSU. Zip to your downloads on your phone before) and then go to recovery - install zip - choose SuperSU.
Sent from my SM-N900L using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I just want to confirm that the cf auto root for the SM-N900S korean file has worked on my SM-N900L korean phone!
I then flashed CWM using odin.
Hopefully others in the future will root the 900L with confidence!
Thanks!!!

Hi.,
I have Samsung A3 (SM-3000) from bought from mainland China and trying to add google play shop & services on the phone without success. Each time after installation, google services just gives error message and stops. I've already learned that this is due to chinese software on my phone and therefore it must be rooted.
I've tried several different rooting software already now without success and each time rooting is starting ok, but then after 15 secs some error message comes to phone and in chinese of course... Problem might be with locked bootloader, i guess?? How to unlock this damn phone, anyone?? Plz help.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. I can't find any specific root methods for your device. You could try this, http://www.xda-developers.com/root/
Good luck!
Solved
Just to report my own solution.. I was able to find at least partial solution to my original problem with google play & services. I flashed with Odin new rom, details below
Model SM-A3000
Model name GALAXY A3
Country Hong Kong
Version Android 4.4.4
Changelist 307561
Build date Thu, 26 Feb 2015 09:47:29 +0000
Product code TGY
PDA A3000ZHU1AOB1
After flashing resetting the phone with stock recovery and reboot. It used to have only 3 languages, chinese, english & korean, now i have all the languages, all google apps and everything is same as phone was purchased from EU or so. And those Baidu, weibo etc. are missing. Me so happy...
and yes, if you plan to do this as well, please remember to take backups before you start the process. I didn't...
Glad you got it working!

Hello,
I've had my GT-N8000 since 2013 it has 3G option and is ulocked.
I remember when i got it it had a baseband N8000XXALI3, i remember cos I wrote it on the box! Back then it had the very first rom edition of 4.0 something and wanted to update the firmware but no updates were available at the time. I waited a couple of months and after that i flashed on it the german 4.1.2 stock rom using Odin. My Tablet is unlocked so all went well and it still runs very well. It's not rooted.
Currently my tablet has the following info:
AP: N8000XXCMA1
CP: N8000XXCLL1
CSC: N8000XACMA1
Now when looking for updates, none show up on OTA or KIES, and i really need to update to the latest official rom which as I understand is 4.4 but I don't know which file to download. Can you help me? Anything I need to do before that? Backup a Nand or EFS? I don't really know what those are!
Any advice on which rom to use and keep the s-pen functionality and 3G? Are there any new roms for marshmallow?
Thank you kindly in advance.
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-N8000/
Baseband is modem not firmware .
Thank you for replying,
I have already went to that page and I wanted to make sure which rom to download, there are many 4.4.2 but none of them are for my country. And to tell you the truth, this tablet was offered to me as a gift back then from overseas and I'm not sure of its country of origin. I there a way to know that?
So I'm not sure which rom to download and flash without messing something up!
Sorry for the noob questions, the more details you can provide will be appreciated. And thanks again.
Download for your location/network/model.
Sent from my SM-N930F using XDA-Developers Legacy app
My device is unlocked as in not bound to a cell carrier and neither my location nor my provider are available in that list of roms.
In that case what's the best option?
Thank you kindly.
Latest .

Hello. Yes it's possible only with custom rom if you can install twrp recovery in your Chinese device. You can't install the stock firmware with odin...

No need to root. You just need twrp to install a custom rom for your model. But if I were you, I won't install a custom rom cause your warranty will be cancel and your secure folder won't work anymore...
Next time buy a full international version dual sim, model with FD at the end, like G955FD. But I'm not sure 128GB exists for the international model [emoji848]

I bought this model for 6gb ram, didn't envisage this issue. There's hardly any chinese but would have preferred full English
I was under the impression you could flash any official firmware to any model.
You cann't do this cause your device have Snap 835, and 955F is Exinos model. I can only advice you to flash HonkKong firmware. It will have English.

Sure, it will work. but the TMO only S8 not S8+ are working. Identifi itself as G950U. You can install a alot of different Roms. Especially in China are a lot of good Roms. I installed a lot of them, and figured out a method of install that works in 8 from 10 tries from cross Flash.
But i can upload my favority China Rom. Called G95X0_7.0_Soul_V7. way Talking about the 835 version Brush process:
0 first brush into the Bank of China system, so easy to unlock crom.
1 because the 835 version does not oem lock, crom lock. Please install crom before brushing machine unlock tool, is a apk
open on the network after the operation to unlock. (Please remember s6 s7edge same)
2 unlock is completed, use the memory card to copy the card brush rom, mobile phone into the line brush mode with odin line brush into the corresponding version of the TWRP card brush rom can, this step and 8895 exactly the same

If you selected the language, then all default apps should change to the selected one. Make sure you didn't buy a fake S8.

Might need to be careful with which HK firmware you upload... I can't read Chinese so, I'm unsure. But I made certain that I used the right one for the HK 6gb phone, as I wasn't sure if it was the same for the 4gb phone with less storage and exact same model number. Good luck.
