Currently have an unlocked, unrooted SM-G920K from Korea (carrier is KT / Olleh). I am very interested in Samsung Pay, but the app on my Korean phone does not accept US credit cards, it only accepts Korean Credit Cards. Currently, Samsung Pay on US variants of the phone accept my credit card (Bank of America).
Question: If I flash the phone to the a US stock firmware variant (say, AT&T SM-G920A) will I run into any problems?
You'll have a problem if you flash the 920A you can do t-mobile though which is G920T the reason is because the G920A is still on 5.0.2 and you will run into problems if you flash the tar normally you must follow my guide to make a tar that only flashes system boot and recovery so it's not flashing the American bootloader if it does that it can cause many issues my guide can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/general/how-to-install-5-1-1-update-g920s-s6-t3183124 it was made originally on how to install the south Korean update but my guide is showing you is how to make a tar file that only flashes system boot and recovery allowing the tar file to be installed on any device instead of using south Korean firmware use American firmware and make your own tar.
Ignore the premade tars they aren't useful for your specific question. Also ignore the call fix and flashing the unikernel part (if it doesn't boot because you didn't flash unikernel you can always go into download mode and flash unikernel but it's unlikely that it won't work without unikernel try the kernel from your stock Korean firmware first)
Report back and tell me how it went, wish you luck!
Hello I was wondering if you were able to change your firmware from the Korean variant to a US variant

I saw a video of a guy who converted his "Galaxy S7: SM-G930V (Verizon) full converted into SM-G930F"
He provides detail as:
"* Based on Official Firmware: G930FXXU1BPJG (UAE)
* The latest baseband: G930FOJV1BPJK1
* Fixed all code: *#06# - *#0*# - *#0808#
* Multi-Languages: Supported 94 Languages
I'd like to convert my G930S to the 930F version as well, if it is actually feasible.
I'm putting together a recipe as follows:
G930FXXU1DQJ3 UK version 7.0 XEU version (Exynos), as I understand it is a generic, unbranded OS
I'm currently on rooted G930S stock 7.0, TWRP back up, and though everything seems just fine, I noted on rooting with ODIN I had to go through a Korean language setup afterwards, until I came to the language page, and then later putting in an english keyboard. I'd like to get rid of the Samsung apps and the T-(Mobile?) korean apps/Samsung bloat.
Order to flash:
1. Flash baseband G930AUCS4BQH1, 7.0 version US, clearing system, cache and data first?
2. Flash ROM
2. Flash CSC, I have AT&T service/derivative, I though I'd flash: CSC XAA, USA unbranded or
USC, USA unbranded
reboot into recovery and
3. flash SuperSU?
4. Reboot to system
I think I have that order correct. Any folks willing to add their insights will be appreciated.
Thank you.
The G930V is a completely different SoC, no way he made it anything other than a 930V that has faked the system information.

I put on an Exynos 8+ ROM on my G930S. The phone model now 'shows' it as a G955F, baseband remained unchanged, and the CSC, once Korean or Chinese, now shows conflicting info, from code input into phone, OXM, from System app reader, XAA. But the data region is still in the China area for data services. It remains a 930S at heart, unless I can change the baseband and CSC.
Interestingly, here on the US west coast my AT7T service is working just fine.
I'd like to figure out how to get the baseband and CSC aligned safely and correctly to the US (TMB CSC?).

You can try following to change csc and baseband:
1. When flashing firmware on odin, select re-partition.
2. Wipe data and cache.
Let me know if everything works fine.
Good luck. Your knox is still under warranty right?

Galaxy S7 UPDATE
Hi,
i got a Korean S7 mobile that was converted to "930F" with 7.0 Nought Firmware.how can i update it to the latest firmware 8.0 bcoz its not updating through its internal update option (setting>about>software info>update manually).
plz help me to update my Galaxy S7 to Latest Update Firmware 8.0 Oreo, WAITING for your answer...
Many thanks.
Hi folks,
I have the following problem. After rooting my SM-G930U (Galaxy S7 unbranded US version, i.e. snapdragon version), it has become super slow and the battery drain insane. So I have decided to revert to stock, not least to be able to update to the latest Android O, which is supposed to be released soon.
However, after downloading several XAA firmware packages (e.g. XAA-G930UUES4BRA1-20180125153850), I have the following problems:
Odin throws an error when I try to flash the firmware and
it might have to do with the fact that the firmware only includes the BL and AP files and not (as I would have hoped) the CSC file as well --> I accidentally flashed the Sprint Rom last time and it sucks, so I want the version with the least carrier customization and bloatware.
So I was hoping that you could help me by explaining whether or not I will need any other files than the BL/AP files and how I can make sure that the rom I install is free from any of the old Sprint customization and bloatware.
Further information: I am on Mint Sim prepaid (which runs on the T-Mobile network) and I have not tripped Knox and I would prefer to keep it this way
Thank you!
Hello amazing XDA devs,
I need a bit of advise and help with flashing oreo firmware on my device. I have already done a lot of research already but have failed to find any satisfactory answer. So here is my story,
I purchased my galaxy s8+ from korea. Model number is G955N. I wasn't able to get volte signal on it hence, rooted it and changed the csc to India.
In the process I also had to update my BL to AQL3.
I am now trying to flash an indian firmware on my korean device. i.e. installing SM-G955FD firmware on SM-G955N device. I undestand hardware of both the devices (korean and indian) are same. So, there should not be any problem in this cross flashing of firmware. However, ODIN doesn't allow this.
Here are my few queries which I hope you can help me with
1) Would it allow me to flash *FD firmware on *N device if I use prince comsy odin or some other custom odin?
2) Do I need to flash *N oreo BL if I decide to flash any other custom oreo rom which supports F/FD/N variants?
3) Where can I find *N oreo BL and AP to flash if only option is to install custom oreo rom?
4) If I flash oreo firmware for *N variant, would I loose my csc changes and I will have to start all process again to get back volte signal?
I know this is a long list of question. But, I am sure a lot of people have these queries and it will help all of them in understanding the process and upgrade their devices if these questions can be answered.
Would appreciate your help on this matter.
Thanks,
I got it..just flashed the oreo rom from twrp and everything seems to be working fine.
hello. which custom did you flash ? also need it. thanks
I have my G955N made 2 sims aleady.
I observed that the developer did the following steps:
1. They made it support 2 sims: IMEI guru software
2. They flashed custom that supported G955X:Renovate ICE in xda
3. They changed 1 slot sim tray with 2 slot sim trays.
4. I observed that BL and CP are of G955N but AP and CSC are else from G955X.
Thanks?.
Hi Everyone,
I bought Samsung Galaxy S7 Duos from Dubai.
The phone becomes so annoying as it has some kind of Adware built-in, which always opens different kinds of websites, pop-up ads and PlayStore links (after every few minutes).
I tried every possible way to get rid of it but nothing useful, even the factory reset or hard rest doesn't work. Because the OS it self is buggy.
According to its Settings, the phone has Model No. SM-G930FD, and Android 7.0
Now I want to install the fresh and updated firmware, so I can free my self from this Adware and can enjoy Android 8.0
I have downloaded Android 8.0 firmware for SM-G930FD
I tried Odin to install this new firmware but encountered a new issue:
According to Phone's Download Mode, the phone model is SM-G930S instead of SM-G930FD
This means someone installed the local ROM on the Korean Phone. (am I right?)
Now when I'm trying to install Android 8.0 firmware for SM-G930FD (of any other region) it shows the error:
"Secure Check Fail: (PIT)"
I am out of ideas on what to try next
Whatever it says in download mode is what the phone actually is, everything else has been faked.
It's a common scam to use modified firmware to make a phone appear to be a different model, as some models sells for more than others.
This is likely what has happened to you, and also the cause of the apparent adware.
Stock G930F or FD firmware will bootloop a G930S, which is probably why Odin is refusing. You would either need to flash stock G930S firmware, or use a custom ROM compatible with G930S

Thank you for the clarification
Now when I'm sure that my phone has G930S model, the option of stock ROM is only one: Android 8.0, Korea (SK Telecom)
1. By Googling a lot about this scam I'm afraid that changing the ROM may covert the phone into Single SIM version!
2. And if I install Korea (SK Telecom) ROM, will it lock the phone to Korean network only?
3. Do you think that "Korea (SK Telecom) ROM" will change everything into Korean?
Can you please clear my doubts
I don't know enough about the Korean stock ROM to answer those unfortunately.
But I do know many custom ROM's are compatible with G930F/FD and S, so I would assume allow dual SIM.
Hello people, I hope you're okay!
I bought an used S21+ but it was not clear that the model I would receive is Korean (G996N). While I don't have any issues, it also misses the eSIM option (and probably Samsung Pay is not going to work in Europe). The eSIM option would be really good to have (SPay I do not care a lot).
I've been searching for an answer in regards to change the region and the responses are mixed and I am out of Samsung phones and firmware loop for a few years. Some say I can just change the CSC region using SamFW and that's good to go. Some say it will not work because my KOO CSC does not allow this change. Also, OTA firmwares are lost until I switch the CSC back (but, from what I understood, if I also change the firmware it would receive OTA normally).
Question: is it possible, nowadays, to just change Firmware and CSC to another region? My phone has an Exynos processor so it would have to be a firmware from Europe or Latin America.
I also understood it will not brick nor trip knox efuse, right?
Thanks a lot!
@angourakis Ok let me give you a clear response about CSCs. ALL Samsung firmware will let you flash a new CSC (as long as you use Odin). This has worked for me every single time.
You need to update your Android to the latest 13 and download and extract this (remember to use “direct download”, this website is the only one with a good selection of firmware) and use Odin (get 3.14.1 non patched) to flash the HOMECSC file (in the CSC slot).
Hey @traman124 thanks for the response!
Why this firmware in specific? I am running a more recent firmware than the one you mentioned. Also, do I need to have the bootloader unlocked?
Thanks!
It doesn’t need to be that version @angourakis it can be any version… that one will work though And you can use Odin with a locked bootloader (with download mode).
@traman124 thanks again!
Unfortunately, I tripped knox while trying to install a CSC from G996B version (kept BL, AP and CP from G996N and only used CSC from B version).
Now I am trying to look for a trade in program to replace the phone.
Thanks anyway, I really appreciate your help!
@angourakis I’m sorry….. this has never happened to me while flashing CSCs but the few times I have I did it with the same variant phone/tablet…..
