Hi Everyone,
I bought Samsung Galaxy S7 Duos from Dubai.
The phone becomes so annoying as it has some kind of Adware built-in, which always opens different kinds of websites, pop-up ads and PlayStore links (after every few minutes).
I tried every possible way to get rid of it but nothing useful, even the factory reset or hard rest doesn't work. Because the OS it self is buggy.
According to its Settings, the phone has Model No. SM-G930FD, and Android 7.0
Now I want to install the fresh and updated firmware, so I can free my self from this Adware and can enjoy Android 8.0
I have downloaded Android 8.0 firmware for SM-G930FD
I tried Odin to install this new firmware but encountered a new issue:
According to Phone's Download Mode, the phone model is SM-G930S instead of SM-G930FD
This means someone installed the local ROM on the Korean Phone. (am I right?)
Now when I'm trying to install Android 8.0 firmware for SM-G930FD (of any other region) it shows the error:
"Secure Check Fail: (PIT)"
I am out of ideas on what to try next
Whatever it says in download mode is what the phone actually is, everything else has been faked.
It's a common scam to use modified firmware to make a phone appear to be a different model, as some models sells for more than others.
This is likely what has happened to you, and also the cause of the apparent adware.
Stock G930F or FD firmware will bootloop a G930S, which is probably why Odin is refusing. You would either need to flash stock G930S firmware, or use a custom ROM compatible with G930S

Thank you for the clarification
Now when I'm sure that my phone has G930S model, the option of stock ROM is only one: Android 8.0, Korea (SK Telecom)
1. By Googling a lot about this scam I'm afraid that changing the ROM may covert the phone into Single SIM version!
2. And if I install Korea (SK Telecom) ROM, will it lock the phone to Korean network only?
3. Do you think that "Korea (SK Telecom) ROM" will change everything into Korean?
Can you please clear my doubts
I don't know enough about the Korean stock ROM to answer those unfortunately.
But I do know many custom ROM's are compatible with G930F/FD and S, so I would assume allow dual SIM.

Hi, I have just bought a brand new galaxy S7, model SM-G930F.
Although it is an international model, it carries a snapdragon 820 processor.
I am told , that it is a USA model, built under Verizon.
SM-G930F is supposed to be a global model with exynos, does anyone knoes what is the phone I bought?
Anyway, my real problem is, that the "updates software" option is missing, in "about phone" list.
I am stuck in android 6.0.1
I checked it is not rooted and it must be a genuine phone.
Can anybody guide me through solutions?
I would really appreciate any help.
Thank you
Moving to general S7 Q&A since you say it's a SM-G930F.
Check the back of the phone and verify the phone model. You should be able to update through other options like Kies, unless they've changed that recently.

It's not a G930F if it has a Snapdragon processor
Commonly faked to look like G930F by editing firmware / stickers / model numbers etc, more likely to be the G930V if it's Verizon
Boot to download mode and check the model number in there, that's the only one that can not be faked
(Volume Down & Home & power)
And they likely removed the update option from settings to prevent any problems of the phone updating to either the wrong firmware, or removing their fake edits with a V update
Flash the proper firmware with ODIN 3.12.3 or newer from updato.com once you know your model S7
Galaxy s7 "updates software" option missing
Dear Durham,
Thanks for the help.
Yes, you are right; it is G930V.I have been tricked...
I have visited updato.com and found 12 variants of S7 firmware.
My bootlader version is - 6.0.1 November 20, 16 USA (Verizon) (VZW) G930VVRU4API3
Shall I download and install this one and afterwards make a manual software update or
shall I install the latest - 7.0 August 25, 17 USA (Verizon) (VZW) G930VVRS4BQH1 ?
After successful installation, will these firmware fake modifications( to G930F) disappear permanently?
I am much obliged
Thanks

The ROMs from updato.com are full ROMs so you can just flash the latest / newest one and you'll be 100% up to date once it boots
Use CSC and not HOME_CSC though as you are going to want to reset after the flash to clear any hacks from the previous ROM (This will wipe the device so backup any important files first)
CSC, AP, BL and CP
Yes this will permanently remove any modifications from the faked ROM
Wish me luck, I will give it a go!
You have been most informative, many thanks.
Good luck :good:

The good news is that the verizon edition can be rooted and is network unlocked from the factory so as long as ure carrier supports the bands it will still work for you on a side note flash the u firmware not verizon and u wont have any verizon bloatware out of the gate either
Mad scientist, thank you for your intervention.
Just to be clear, which firmware do you suggest me to install, not the verizon G930V?
Could I install the G930F for my country (Europe).
I thought they are incompatible...
As my bootloader version G930V I think I would better stick with the V version.
Are you suggesting not to upgrade to nougat and reinstall factory installed 6.0.1 and better wait for 8?
Yes you are right, I am not good at twiking. Will I have drain baterry issues with nougat?
Dear Durham,
Emergency help!!!!
I installed it succesfully but now it does not recognize my sim card, as it is from a non USA country.
Should I reflash a different firmware? F or U ?
I am from Greece
It seems to be working...
The Verizon logo appears upon starting the phone
But in language selection, there is only English and asian languages available.
Software update finally appeared.
In order to have my langage back, should I reflash with the U ( unlocked version) or the F (global)?
No mobile data.
Maybe I am calling through Verizon.Roaming.Expensive.Scarry...!!
He means that the G930U firmware will flash fine on the G930V, it is the same firmware but without the Verizon bloatware added
You can not flash any other firmwares, it just happens that those two are compatible with each other
Flash straight to the latest
So I shall flash the G930U?
Will my sim card be recognized and mobile data be active.
Nougat 7 or MM 6-your opinion, again?
thnks
No idea if your SIM will be recognised, but if it's not working with the V firmware it's worth a try
As I said, flash the latest firmware which is Nougat
Personally I would be contacting the seller and asking for a refund / exchange for a real G930F that you paid for
firmware
I tried, but he is not cooperative.
How about F version-it worked with it before ?
(only it was modified with the dissapearance of system update.)

No you cannot flash any other model firmware, that was NOT the G930F firmware, it was a hacked / faked U or V firmware
I think you better read a good few threads before going much further or you're going to end up with a brick
Contact the seller and request a refund
Don't suppose you can flash CSC files of the 930F on 930V?
Dear all,
Thank you for your help and interest in my problem.
This is indeed a great forum!!!
I tried to flash the F version, but thankfully odin stopped it from the beginning, presenting "failed" message.
I suppose if it continued, I would end up with a brick as Durham suggested.
Finally I flashed he U version, as mad scientist suggested, and up to now it works like a charm.
As Durham advised, I used CSC and not HOME_CSC and the hack was eliminated.
Sim card is recognized, no bloatware and mobile data working.
Let's hope it will continue like this...!!!
Only glitch, not everything is in my home language ( message icon name and in settings-the menu options-any idea how to fix it? - I removed english and left only my language as selection, but onle these remain untranslated)-small problem
I have learned a valuble lesson from my adventure.
Ebay, an organized platfrom may it be, it cannot control each individual's deceivals, so one must be extra wary when buyng from unofficial sources, nomatter good reviews from others...
Thanks again to you all for your help, I would be in serious position right now, if it weren't for you guys.
I have bought a Samsung Galaxy S7 in China. It comes with Chinese firmware (has English language though) but mostly with Chinese software, bloatware and without Google play store. So it does not sync with Google, searches go through Baidu, I can't find and install most apps so it's essentially not very fun to use.
So i want to replace the firmware with any US firmware like G930A, G930U etc. I personally think its possible cause Chinese S7 has Snapdragon 820 chipset like US S7. So basically the hardware of Chinese & US variants of S7 are same.
Just i need a proper step by step guide or ODIN tutorial to make this change. I am really tired of Chinese apps and bloatware. So please guys help me to get ride out of this. Please.
updato.com has all the firmwares for the various models and countries, and it has a step by step guide for flashing with Odin.

Boot into download mode, whatever model it says in there is the one you can flash new firmware for, do not try flashing firmware for the wrong model S7 or you can brick it
Exceptions are G930V can use G930U firmwares, and FD can use F firmware, I am not aware of any others
I recommend SamMobile for the firmware download and Odin for flashing it.
Read carefully the flashing instructions.
There are many threads with tutorials, we'll not going to post another tutorial here. Just use the search button and you'll find all the information you need about flashing with Odin.

I know how to flash with ODIN. But i wanted to change my firmware. My S7's model is SM-G9300 which is for Chinese open model. But in this model, there is no google apps and lots of bloatware everywhere. So i wanna replace it with any US firmware specially with SM-930U firmware. Cause i heard it gives smooth performance and bloatware less.

i saw some user changed their S7's G930A or G930V firmware with G930U firmware because of all the US model of S7 has snapdragon's hardware setup. That's why i am interested cause my G9300 also has snapdragon's hardware though it Chinese model. I know i can't flash exynos firmware in snapdragon's model because its completely different hardware setup.
So i wanted to know did anybody can successfully changed their G9300(Chinese) firmware with any US firmware? If did then what's the process? Or how can i replace it? Is there any way to do that without ODIN like with 'dongle' or 'magic flash box'? These are my queries.

I already explained, only 1-2 devices have other model firmwares that are compatible, yours is not one of them, nothing to do with hte snapdragon hardware, bootloader etc is different and will BRICK
See here for TWRP and try custom / root to get Google services

Hi,
I bought Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930S from the store which was converted into SM-G930FD as I was not having Korean sick apps installed in my mobile and there was no Korean logo of "BANDLTE" while switching off and switching on, when I saw my phone model name it was SM-G930FD and was supporting dual sim both had a same IMEI. But when I restarted my mobile after getting home phone got locked with this message "Custom Binary Blocked By FRP Lock" so decided to got into boot menu there I saw SMG930S written so i flashed mobile with SKT Korean firmware of smg930s but when I installed it I got tons of Korean apps and getting "BANDLTE" logo while switching off and on my phone I lost that Samsung Original logo which I had when my phone was converted into smg930fd. Now I want to switch back to Smg930fd settings/firmware so get rid of these Korean apps and Model to be appear as SMG930FD as the back of my Samsung Galaxy s7 glass has a phone model SMG930FD. I don't know Shopkeeper scammed me or what I told him I wanted to buy SMG930FD but he gave me this converted phone Kindly help me to get back to SMG930FD firmware/settings

The same experience... If you are not on Oreo, I advice you to stay on Nougat or even Marshmallow.
Although this post has been posted for a long time but I still want to ask you that how did you get the g9300 device rooted properly?
Hi, guys! I bought a second-hand, unrooted Galaxy S7, model SM-G930S that shows the SK Telecom logo on boot, so it seems it is from South Korea. I want to replace its firmware for the Brazilian one (I suppose it's one of the G930F variants), but since it's my first Samsung phone, I don't know how to do it and if it's possible to do it, but I already know some of the necessary version stuff though:
SM-G930S
AP: G930SKSU1DQJ1
CP: G930SKSU1DQJ1
CSC: G930SSKC1DQJ1
Can someone tell me if it's possible to replace it and how can I do it? Will I need the ODIN tool people talks about a lot here? What else?
If this is your first Samsung device, then I do not recommend you start playing with firmware installs. Try to use it first as it is and then, if you do not like it, custom the firmware.

Well u cant just simply flash one varient's firmware over the other though the hardware is almost same. But u can install stock based costum rom like super stock rom which is debloated and a simple stock based rom i am using it right now on my S7 edge. you will like it i am sure. otherwise no way.
Hello,
I'm trying to fix my soft bricked phone with this error (no quotes):
"dm-verity verifiation failed..."
I've already soft and factory reset the phone to no avail, as it still will not boot past the Samsung logo. Googling the problem has told me that flashing the original firmware with Odin should fix it, but after hours of searching I still cannot determine what firmware I need to download and use. Reading some of the threads here supposedly i can use firmware that shares my carrier and country but I cannot find the correct combination on any site.
Country: US
Phone: S7 (G930F) - On the recovery mode screen the full designation is G930FXXU1BPH6
Carrier: T-Mobile
Version 6.0.1
Does anyone know exactly where I can find useable firmware for the phone? Everything I see online (like sammobile for example) just has the firmwares for other countries.
Before the bootlock my phone was rooted if it matters.

The G930F is a primarily European device, so a different region than the US.
The firmware version you have provided is an old version of Marshmallow on T Mobile Poland. The fact that it's Poland doesn't really matter it's still EU region.
Now heres the important part....T Mobile in Europe do not use all of the same bands as T Mobile US so although you can flash any firmware for Europe your phone will not work 100% in the US
So first of all flash with either a nougat firmware for United Kingdom T Mobile or Untied Kingdom nougat undranded (BTU). From Sammobile.
I don't advise going straight to Oreo because there may be a fix for older nougat firmware from EU region to work perfectly in US. Once you upgrade firmware you cannot downgrade.
Once your phone is up and running you just need to look on the forum of how to get a G930F device working perfect on US networks.
Hi all,
Yesterday I bought an S10e under the impression that it is sm-g970F.
Trying to flash Android 11 I discovered that it is actually sm-g970N.
Is there really a difference between them?
Should I be worried that some functions will be missing/unavailable?
Also, in the settings, it appears as g970F. How did the seller change it??
I have the same problem i tried to update the phone to the latest sm-g970f rom (figured if it's already installed it's possible)
And non of the roms flashed only when i decided to try latest sm-g970n rom it flashed however i bricked the phone and i have no idea what to do now.

So after digging into the issue since i have the same problem here are my conclusions:
1. The phone is a Korean Variant G970N it is probably a renewed phone and not a new one.
apparently it's okay for an importer to take used phones (from Korea in this case) and replace all the cosmetics but of cause leaving the used MB.
Now here is what you should worry about, in order to flash the G970F Fixed Rom (there is no way you have updates) they used a Custom Kernel which means the phone was rooted and now Knox is tripped (this not reversible).
(Download Phone Info from play store and check knox if it shows 0x1 then your phone warrenty is void and some features won't be available any more for example - Samsung Pay).
So what should you do?
Well if you still have the option i would have demanded my money back!!
One thing that i am perplexed about is how in hell is this legal?!!!
If you no longer have this option or you want to keep the phone you have two option:
1. Flashing Korean Unbranded Firmware (KOO) which is pretty good it doesn't have bloatware or issues as far as i can tell, i only found one down side for it, the phone language selection is small but if you only need English (like any normal Human) then you are golden.
2. Keep the G970F ROM but bare in mind it will receive no updates and no security patches.
I am still looking for a proper way to flash G970F Firmware over G970N for now i haven't found any internet source that will confirm it's even possible.
So how did those importers\sellers did it, they probably flashed it with a Cellphone Lab Software (not Odin solution) and used a custom Kernel to fool Knox, like i said before this is practically a crime and i don't understand how can they sell used phones as new and get away with it!!!!
I had the same suspicions....
I'll try going to the lab that sold the previous owner the device and deal with them tho it looks like I just got scammed...
Sorry to bring this up again but I've just had an idea following JerryRigEverything's video:
What if I transplant SM-G970F components from a broken device that no longer works or in use in my SM-G970N which is supposedly new.
My N device is now bricked for some reason I couldn't solve, though my suspicion is that it has to do with incompatibility with the SIM card I use.
When my device did work, it worked great! ...besides battery issues that are most likely a result of the incompatibility aforementioned.
Will this work? If so, what components do I need? I already know I'll need the logic board but as seen in the video, there are several more antennas, should I just copy what Jerry did?

Hi Vegetto,
I am from India and buy a galaxy S10e from UAE, It is showing G970F in the Phone's about but the problem is It is a G960N. Now, When I see in Sam Phone Info app there is Bootloader version - G970N, PDA Version - G970F, CSC G970F.
It is also a Knox tripped phone. Knox 0/1.
But if I see in Samsung code by typing in keypad *#12580*369#
it showing like all option in Odin:
BL: G970F
AP: G970F
CP: G970F
CSC: G970F
Does this means I can flash new Firmware on the list of SAM Mobile website, with G970F series firmware, It also showing in SAM Phone Info App that there latest firmware G970FXXSEFUL1/G970FOXMEFUJ2/G970FXXSEFUJ2.
I am in India right now.
Please help me, My email Id is -- [email protected]
It actually means you cannot flash SM-G970F the only roms you can flash are G970N.
Also if you want the phone to get security updates you must flash the original phones bootloader version, my suggestion download the G970N KOO firmware it's a global firmware. As for the knox it is tripped and there is nothing you can do about it.

Where from I can download the original phone's G970N KOO Firmware and is it official Samsung Firmware?
How are they able to flash G970F? Is it custom Rom or do they use the original one?
I searched that my phone is using G970FXXS4BTB3 firmware which Vietnam XXV and same number found at https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s10e/firmware/SM-G970F/XXV/download/G970FXXS4BTB3/322678/ in an old update in 2020.
So see the attached screenshot, can I flash its latest version with odin. Of course, there is a chinese written in recovery mode installed when I go to its recovery mode for flashing with Odin.
I have a similar problem right now on my Korean S10E. Device is SM-G970N. I need it to be in Turkish. Only Themes item in Settings is in Turkish- very interesting- The rest is in English. App names are mostly Turkish Settings app name is in English.
The bootloader is unlocked but the phone is not rooted, Knox seems not tampered.
Could not start OTA update at first, I have upgraded a few versions from PC via Smartswitch. Just then noticed OTA also started downloading. The rest of the updates went on from the phone until upgrading to 12, there was a message like "All of the updates were not succesful." OTA update no longer responded. This time I turned back to Smart Switch. Update finished this time and finally I am at the latest version.
I only need Turkish in Settings. I used some ADB commands and an app called MoreLocale2. It did not work either. This has to be simple. Turkish exists. Keyboard is Turkish but not Settings. Quick links and most other things are strangely mixed English and Turkish.
How can I enable full Turkish?
