[Completed] How can i access the data on a phone that has a broken screen and is pattern locked? - XDA Assist

Im trying to access the data on a Galaxy S4 on which the screen is not working at all(no backlight and doesn't respond to touch). the data I mainly require is the contacts.db file. what I have tried sofar:
1. tried to access the data via USB but cant access the content due to the lock on the phone.
2. tried to access the data with KIES but once again failed to do so due to the lock on the phone.
3. Downloaded the ADB shell and installed the required USB drivers but cant access the phone, when running the command "adb devices" it says no devices found which I think is because the USB Debugging setting on the phone is not enabled.
4. Also tried to sync with the Google account but unfortunately it was not setup to sync contacts with the Google account.
Some other suggestions were to get another S4 and connect its screen to the the one in question which im sure will work but is there no other way to access the data or to somehow remove the pattern lock from the phone? maybe using another platform to gain full access to the phone or anything?

Hello, and welcome to XDA Assist! You may want to try this tool: [Tool][Windows] Control a device with a broken screen, or possibly use a programme such as Droid Explorer to view your files. If all fails, try and ask here: General discussion Questions and Answers. You will need to register to post.
Good luck!

[Completed] accessing files and/or wipe data on a phone with broken touchscreen

hey there,
I am trying to access my files / wipe data from my Xperia Z3. The device has an unresponsive screen after I dropped it. I want to do a factory reset / wipe my data before selling it on. I do not need to save any further data.
A couple of weeks ago, I saved my files from the external phone SD card via USB on my computer (so USB debugging must be enabled I guess). However, I since updated my computer from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and now the Z3 somehow doesn't show up any more.
I tried to use ADB, but it does not connect to the device (ADB drivers and tools installed). The Z3 still shows up on my girlfriends computer runnnig Win7, although it is only shown as an "empty" device (no folder/file system visible in windows explorer).
I can not wipe the data via an app since I do not have any such app installed/configured with this phone. I also can not do it on the phone, because the screen doesn't show anything.
does anyone have an idea on how to wipe my data from the device or why it won't show up via ADB any more?
thanks a lot!

Greetings,
Thank you for using XDA Assist. First, have a look at your device's homepage here:
Sony Xperia Z3
You can find a lot of useful information in the General Forum located there. If you create an XDA account, you can ask your question in the Q&A forum, also located there. Good luck and welcome to XDA!
hey,
that actually was me, I was not logged in for some reason.
I did look through the forums before, but I can not find any solution to my problem so far.
Since this is a problem with ADB, I thought it belonged to the general section rather than to a device-specific forum...
thanks and cheers

[Completed] Bootloop after root

Hello, I am in a bootloop root soup ! I have an LG G2/ATT - currently out of warranty.
Day 1) I successfully rooted with Kingroot and then was able to connect via ADB after several attempts. :fingers-crossed:
Day 2) Then I lost my user interface on the mobile - don't know why.
Day 4) At least until today I was able to connect via ADB to navigate and to uninstall apps in the last few days or find a way to getback my data. However the uninstall didn't work. Now suddenly I lost ADB as it seems to have lost its key - and connects as unauthorized.
Can somebody help either to
A) Get my mobile user interface i.e. remove bootloop as it seems to be called
B) Get back ADB - I want to be able to backup some of the apps data if I can - especially my calendar and some notes that I kept adding to.
Thanks

Greetings and welcome to assist. I'd try the obvious first like different usb cable and different port then maybe try sp flashtools to see if that works
Good Luck

Any ways to backup data from a locked phone ?!

hello everyone ..
I'm trying to access my phone with correct password but i found that work profile is enabled with different lock screen password i didn't set any work profiles before when i searched for that problem i found that using cloned apps make work profile to be enabled automatically
Now my phone is locked with an important data on it So, I really do hope there is a way to get access to those data. And I'd be extremely grateful if someone could help me out with this.
There are many tools for this purpose available for windows and the most common way is by adb tools
Busybox with su might be an option?
can you explain the method i have no experience with that
hello everyone..
when trying to remove the screenlock the phone suddenly crach and restarted when the phone opens again it tells me to enter the pattern which i already removed with a notification on lockscreen says ''some functionality may be limited tap to unlock work profile'' now i can't access my phone and factory reset is not an option.
need help please
factory reset is your only option
