Hey everybody,
i've got a question to the experts (you)
After two days i got my stolen or lost Android phone back... i don't use any locking mechanism so it was easily accessible.
It is an Android 5.1.1 stock rom and it looks unmodified but i'm not an expert so my question is: which files or (synchronisation)protocols would you check to find out if there were made any changes to the phone.
Many thanks in advance - mik

Hi everyone,
even though I have been following the forum for a while (since getting my first android a few weeks ago), i haven't ever posted before and the forum doesn't let me post in the relevant thread
which is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696845&page=12 so please excuse my new thread which seems out of place...
here the q/a from the thread
1) Are you rooted yet?
no. (have upgraded my milestone to the official froyo update)
2) Where'd you buy the phone from?
turkey (not locked)
3) Are you on the original ROM you bought it with?
it was eclair. now it runs the official froyo
4) What do you see under settings > about phone > Firmware configuration version?
gas_asia_usams1fryottr_p005
so it is clear from the firmware version that it is a TR version.
according to http://and-developers.com/sbf:milestone I could use euro retail (should work b/c 900/2100 bands in both versions)
BUT I want to have a Nandroid backup of the TR version, which I can put back on the phone in case anything goes wrong and I need to send the phone for repairs.
I tried to use OpenRecovery but it doesn't install w/o flashing the phone first (needs the Vulnerable Recovery I assume) and by the time I flash the phone with another sbf, the repair lab will be able to tell that I was playing around with the phone...
so
1. is there a way to extract the sbf from the phone itself somehow?
2. make a Nandroid backup w/o flashing the phone first?
3. change the firmware name in a way that the repair center won't see it?
@the admins: in case this thread is misplaced, please move it to the right section and excuse my noobieness in this great forum
and thanks everyone for their help/advice
Hey Guys -
I've looked all through the forums for an answer, but couldn't find a concrete one nor one I was 100% would work for my specific device so decided to post the 3 questions I have...
I've got a Shield Tablet (Wi-Fi USA) which I bought pretty much on day one. Once Lollipop came out, I upgraded to it and in turn re-rooted it afterwards. About a week ago, i got the notification for the 5.0.1 OTA upgrade. I tried applying it by downloading the update then restarting when prompted, but when it came back up it was still at 5.0.0. I'm positive this is due to it being rooted and would still want (need) for it to be after the 5.0.1 upgrade so...
1. What's the best / safest way to apply 5.0.1 (from 5.0.0) to my tablet currently?
2. Will OTA not work if rooted which is why there are so many zip file links in the forums? If not, which update file do I need for USA WiFi only?
3. Once upgraded, what's the best / safest method for re-rooting again? I saw a few posts for how the bootloader needed to be unlocked. Don't know if that's still the latest info. Long way from Towel, huh?
I'm not asking anyone to spell it all out for me, but if you know what to do if you could send me links or whatever to the correct steps / files, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks guys!
I have updated my Oneplus one to 5.1.1 from a download on Google. I think I flashed my phone (I am not rooted) and my phone bricked. I unbricked my phone and the update/flash was successful e.g showing n changing my phone to 5.1.1. I then reset my phone back to factory settings for a different reason and now my phone is asking me to do a system update to 5.1.1. In about phone it clearly states i am running 5.1.1. But my phone since the factory reset is not operating/showing 5.1.1 update/flash. And my phone is sending me notifications asking me to do system update to 5.1.1 which I have tried but won't work coz I am in about phone running 5.1.1. So my problem is what do I do next??. Do I need to root my Oneplus one to to show 5.1.1 working on phone or not. N if not what can I do too receive the 5.2 update to my phone, as phone does not recognise it is already updated to 5.1.1.
Yours hopefully very confused Oneplus one owner (Shelley)
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist.

Hello everyone !
I just got a Vivo Y70 and I wanted to try to install other OS on it.
But I don't seem to find anything for this model.
Isn't there really not much thing for this device ?
Thanks in advance.
unfortunaltey this is the phone no one wants to develop for
not even a single custom rom found although i found it a good mid ranger budget phone with quite good camera and processing ability .
If only there was a bootstrap to begin with, I have this phone and I'm sick of all that boilerplate iManager and app killer...
As a dev guy, I will be happy to at least provide some tips and improve my life and your if you find the firsts steps of how to root a phone (some endpoint to enter the bootloader code, and root safely a phone)
I am also waiting if someone can figure out the steps to go back to android 10 for Y70 phone it was working pretty fast but as i updated to android 11 its almost dead slow now .. and guess what there is no option to revert back to stock android 10 firmware as well.
Well I have just received an OTA official security update (March 2023), so the device is still supported by the manufaturer: I do not see yet an urgent need for a custom ROM. I'll be waiting at the door when the phone will start aging more.
Hello XDA-Members,
I hope to get help here with following issue:
G930F had G930FXXS7ETA8 (Android 8) installed.
I cloned another G930F using TWRP.
By accident I cloned EFS too !!! OMG!
Now SIM-Card is not recognized anymore.
Anything else is fine.
I don't have a backup of EFS for the target device.
But I do have screenshots of Settings>Software Info !
So I know the IME the device had before the accident.
Years before I managed to recover a EFS with a combination ROM.
I tried to flash but the bootloader isn't compatible (need version 7, combination ROM has version 5).
All other tutorials I found did not help me.
Does anybody know how to solve this?
Really hope so!
Kind Regards
Andreas
Hi Andreas,
try this if you haven't already? It helped me getting back my IMEI and working WLAN. Sadly my bluetooth connection is still not usable as i wrote here.
Lars
Hello again,
hainguyenthao fixed the issue for some money.Communication with this XDA senior member was not the best and it took much time for him and me.
In the end he left me alone with a not-ready-to-use phone.
BUT after some unsuccessful attempts to flash the official ROM without issues,
I cloned an identical device in UNLOCKED state with TWRP and everything is fine now.
If you ever want to clone with TWRP ensure the following:
- phones MUST have identical hardware
- remove any PIN / pattern / password from source phone before backup (= UNLOCKED)
- double-check to NOT overwrite the EFS-partion at destination phone !!!
- Please note, that TWRP does NOT backup your internal SDCARD !
(/storage/emulated/0)
For sure it's always a good idea to have a full backup of your device !
Beside TWRP I have screenshots from all IME and software relevant settings.
Be happy!
Andreas
