[Q] Extra quick toggles mod? - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey I've been looking around and I can't seem to find how to enable extra quick toggles in the pull down/notification menu for the s6. I've noticed several roms have extra quick toggles enabled, does anyone know how to enable them manually?
I'm mostly interested in data and tethering toggles but the more the better :good:

You have to use sqlite editor to edit a few things. I'm out now but there are definitely threads on how to do. You do need to be rooted though. You can search how to add data toggle with SQLITE editor in google and you'll find how to do.

Modding Toggles of JB 4.1.2 (For Note 2 and S3)

Hi Guys,
I'm building a more usable toggles for Samsung Galaxy Note II
I'm modding the stock toggles to add more options and and customization through phone settings.
I'm stuck and desperately need someone's advice. I need to do 2 things
1. Add flashlight and airplane mode toggles. (I know blocking mode is a better alternative but some people like me prefer to sleep with the radios off at night, to save battery and our health).
2. I want to disable the animation which happen when you pull down the notification bar and quickly the quicksettings (toggle) buttons move from left to right. I need to disable this feature.
If anyone of you have any ideas please give me a helping hand.
Running WanamLite 2.4 XXDLL7 in Samsung Galaxy Note 2
thanks a lot
First a request: please edit your post title to not look like a prodct name. (See the section guidelines sticky post.)
Secondly, can you give some more information on what you are doing? Perhaps some details on what you are editing, etc. (Currently, your post looks like you want someone to make mods for you... I don't think that's your intention, which is why I'm suggesting that you give more technical detail.)

Sorry, changed the title.
I have already made the following edits...
1. Changed the notification bar background to pitch black from grey.
2. Removed battery percentage symbol (only symbol)
3. Changed toggle button background to pitch black (from blue so now they look much better)
I'm lost on the section of adding airplane mode/ flash light mode.
If anyone has done that please give me a heads up on how to acomplish as I'm totoally clueless on where to begin. I have done loads of modding to SystemUI.apk but kinds lost in this area.
I can share the apks, I dont want anyone to make any mods but give me an idea on what to do...
Thanks...

have you try trace the quickpanel xml?
I'm not sure your level of development experience, but are you aware that adding new functionality to the toggles is a VERY different task than changing some colors or graphics?
Most of the mods I've seen that do this actually bring in a separate apk file for the toggle bar, and then modify the systemui smali to use that alternative toggle bar. One of the most common (at least from what I've seen) to be added to TW is Lidroid's quickpanelsettings (see: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1289896)
Gary
Well this gives me the opportunity to remind everyone that lidroid isnt the origin of this mod.. actually team obssession were the first to introduce it and we werent using any specific apps nor ressource files for this and tsm (team sbrissen mod) were the first to use an app to manage these toggles that was then re-used / re compiled by lidroid...
@op I suggest you have a look a jkay ' s systemui last I checked he was using a systemui that didn't require external resources so you can add only the specific one you need on your xml and the relevant ones in smali side and of course the resources its looking for...
Hope that helps

I wish this was a product already, cause I miss the exact same functionality and the animation annoyed me right from the start.
Any updates on this??

This guide will get you the wanam toggles with the settings app for these toggles. It gives you a choice upto 23 toggles which you can reorder, delete, whatever! Also if you can do this mod then you will be able to incorporate that app into settings very easily. Just search how to add app to settings on google.
Hope if works out for you and don't forget to thank wanam!

Noob UI question?

Reading in a Custom MM ROM Development thread where I can't yet post questions or comments, the OP disabled "quick pull down menus" in the latest build - to the jeers & cheers of alpha downloaders. What are quick pull down menus?

if you havent seen it, its when you double pull down the notification bar and there are some quick toggles to turn on wifi bluetooth and other things. i would guess he didnt fully remove it, (i could be wrong) but just removed the option to quick pull it down. you can set the rom to pull down the not bar on the right/left and expand this panel directly. so basically one side pulls the panel, and the other side pulls notifications. usually devs make this so it can be turned on or off, not locked on.
Thanks for the clarifying explanation bweN diorD. You should make a palindrome of your user ID. `

show download speed when downloading something

I know is a dumb question but, Is it possible to show the download speed when downloading? Cyanogenmod roms have this feature but I wonder if I can add that feature to a custom rom. I have a nexus 5 running cataclysm 6.0.1
Try this:
Network Monitor Mini - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=info.kfsoft.android.TrafficIndicator
I have the Pro version, which I think adds a few more customisation options such as the positioning of the up/down figures in the middle of the status bar, which is very convenient. It can be widely configured - position, text size, colour, no show when inactive, etc. I'm very happy with it.
Edit: added screenshot. The up & down figures can be configured to have U & D in front of them - I don't have that option enabled.
Or you can install Xposed and a module that adds a very neat indicator in the status bar - it's called Network Speed Indicator.
Thanks for your replies. I found another custom rom with this feature :good:

[App]PowerToggles is now open source!

Hello guys. I created Power Toggles a few years ago, and have been slowing adding features to it.
But I have not been getting time to keep update the app for some time. I have made the project available on github
https://github.com/sunnygoyal/PowerToggles
Little description of the app:
An advanced power control widget. FREE and No ads
Contains 40+ toggles including
Wifi
Mobile Data (3G/4G)
Bluetooth (toggle, discovery and tether),
Flashlight
Custom application shortcut
Custom system shortcuts
And many more...
Many customization options like changing color theme and icons for individual toggles.
For creating a Tasker toggle, refer http://powertoggles.com/tasker/

FAQ: http://powertoggles.com/help/
Backup and share widget settings from the widget configure screen (Menu > Import / Export) as well as various themes for multi-icon toggles and battery toggle.
Thanks. Appreciate it.
Thanks for all your hard work in past years. Hopefully development will continue.
use it for years, its the best in its section and runs perfect for me,big thx for this.i hope all devs makes it great too and not crapapps since its open.
Use it for years, too, guess tried ALL similar apps, available on the market - but this one is the best!!!
Too bad I'm not a developer to fix few small issues and make it even better
Developers! Don't pass by!! Stop and pay attention. It's a real gem!!!
Thanks for your work, Sunny, and sorry you give it up...
Awesome Tool!
Reboot to Recovery is not working on my Device, even though its rooted. ROM manager "reboot to recovery" works.
Would appreciate help with this problem.
Really hoping this keeps getting updated, have been using Power Toggles for years and it seems some functions aren't working properly in Android M and N:
(1) Screen lock toggle locks phone but prevents fingerprint unlock, must use PIN instead - https://github.com/sunnygoyal/PowerToggles/issues/6
(2) Quick settings broadcast tiles no longer works in Android N - https://github.com/sunnygoyal/PowerToggles/issues/4
Hi everybody,
it is really a petty that there is no amigious developer, who likes to continue the work on power toogles.
Is there anybody out there to make power toggle ready for android n? Please I really do not wanna life without this app.
Hope dies last. Best Regards Roland
Sorry not to be a developer to keep your work...
I use power toggles in my devices and all my family ones as well. And from kit kat to nougat!
Good luck to you, and hope someone fosters it!
Now having tasted what it's like to have various app supporting quick setting tiles, I really wish this app was still under development. It would be fascinating to be "officially" able to edit and add whatever toggles I want to the quick settings through Power Toggles. If only Power Toggles is still alive!
I wish I would have learned the programming to enable the further development of this software.
Power Toggles is still in my top 5 app list. Titanium Backup, USB Audio Player PRO, Sound About, and Magisk round it out.
Seriously, I'm dumbfounded that someone or a company hasn't picked this up.
Would love to have a night mode toggle if this ever gets updated again.
It's a pity nobody continues to develop this application. I use it since a few years and it's very convenient but I lost functionalities every time I upgrade Androïd.
This app has vanished from Playstore, why?
Might not be compatible with your version of Android. It didn't show up for me after I installed Oreo. I just downloaded it from APK Mirror.
No, I downloaded it before, with the same phone-same firmware-same account.. it just vanished.
But I got it anyway from ApkMirrror :good:
P.s
I tried spoofing with Fdroid's Yalp Store, it is definitely vanished. So sad.
I've red Google removes applications which have no updates since a few years.
it could have been removed due to policy enforced by Google ( using device admin access ) .
BTW, I've been thinking about supporting this with value adds ( I have an initial version called micro toggles with few added features ) - Of course, it will be open source.
May be based on interest I will consider releasing it.
I've been using Power Toggles for years and it's still better than Nougat and any other app I've tried, I'm sorry to see it go, but I do know Java and will be looking into contributing to the open source for bug fixes, cleanup, and possibly improved/new features. Don't get overly-ambitious! Keep it simple and effective, that's my motto.

SmartNav (SmartBar, Fling, Pulse)?

Just looking to see if there are any plans to add the SmartNav options to any of the Custom ROMs out there? On my 1+6, most - if not all - ROMs had the SmartNav option. I loved that feature as you were able to expand your NAV bar to whatever you wanted.
If there are no plans to add it, or if there are issues now that we're on 10, is there any other option to get something like this installed. I've searched around and havent' really found anything that does exactly what I'm looking for. And I am in no way a developer so I dont know how to build a custom ROM on my own (would love to learn tho!).
Anywho, thanks for any info provided.
