New Note Edge user: Low App resolution - Note Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, just got my Note Edge. I do like it for the most part.
However I have realized that some apps just don't look right. Facebook for example just looks like it was designed for a lower res screen which makes it kinda blocky and big.
I tried reducing font size but that didnt help anything.
Also my Edge came with Lollipop. I have noticed its kinda laggy (despite all the horsepower). Is this normal for the phone or is it a 5.0.1 problem. For those of you on KitKat, should I downgrade? I don't know what the Edge acts like on 4.4.4
Are there any features you lost by going from 4.4.4 to 5.0 I only know of the camera button being on the window instead of edge screen.
Also the low light camera still sucks lol. My Note 2 took better low light pics. And can you only have 4 edge panels in order for music apps to use the edge panel? When i add more panels, Power amp stops showing up.

And yes I did do factory reset

Good thing to do a reset if there are problems.
I'm on 5.0.1 and had kitkat some days ago. IMO lollipop is faster and smoother than kitkat. And new fresh design if you like it. Battery seems pretty much the same for me.
Haven't had any problems yet of any kind.
My note 3 on 5.0 is another story though..

Have you noticed the low app resolution problems? And is there a way to keep facebook notifications just to the EDge screen. It shows up on both Edge screen and above my apps. Distracting imo. I have an Edge screen, keep your bullcrap to the edge and out of my way

On facebook I noticed some wrong resolution on a like button, but that's all I've seen.
Regarding notifications I'm now trying to turn on notifications at top only in: Settings, Sound and Notifications, App notifications. In there I can press each app and decide how I want the notification. Will report back if it works.

Yes that did the trick! Now notifications only comes on the edge and on the top of the notification bar as it did on kitkat.

Must add that notifications still comes on the lock screen. Not bothering me.

Hmm to me it just seems like facebook text and overall UI is too big for such a high res screen.
And I didn't know you could only keep facebook notifications just on the Edge screen. Mines, showed up on both Edge and up top blocking a little bit of my view. I just want it on the Edge and in notifications (hidden) like 4.4.4.
I went back to 4.4.4 but I do miss the look of 5.0.1. It definitely looked better than 4.4.4 but it seems that the Edge Screen works better in 4.4.4 mode. How has your Lollipop experience been. I do like that UI just not how it butchers the Edge Screen. I may go back but I don't like having to reinstall all my apps and redoing my settings. I would use Google auto restore but it tends to reinstall all the apps I ever downloaded for android and I feel like that makes my phone slower? Is there a program that will let me back up my apps and settings and restore than without more lag on a different flavor of Android?
Staying with stock T Mobile Rom for now till Winter when I'll have more time to tweak. Also any battery life tips would help

I'm one of those few that are 99 % satisfied with lollipop actually. Definitely snappier and smoother. I also like the UI better than kitkat. Android really got a facelift this time, and I guess it will be even better as the bug fixes show up like they always do.
I haven't been bothered with notifications on the main screen while I'm in other apps after I tweaked app settings a little, at least not yet. Very satisfied with 5.0.1 on my edge.
It's a little different story on my Note 3 though. It runs 5.0 and I had to flash it twice in order to get WiFi to remember passwords and autoconnect. It also occasionally won't boot past the splash screen. Must reboot it otherwise it just hangs there forever.
Regarding battery life I have no issues at all. Pretty much the same on lollipop as it was on kitkat. Now I'm on 43 % left with phone running for 15 hrs and screen on time is more than 3 hrs. I usually get around 6 hrs screen on time and phone on around 18-20 hrs on one charge.
My note 3 is a beast with lollipop as far as battery goes. 2 hrs screen on time and phone been running for ca 20 hrs with 85 % left. I have absolutely no clue how it can be like this. I'm completely stunned! It has a brand new battery, but still.. I've noticed that the battery drains almost nothing when not in use. But there was one night it lost almost 20 % with Google play services eating most of it. It happened once, and stopped when I rebooted it.
So any advise on battery must be to check what's eating it, and from my experience a reboot often reduces some of the processes running. It can be a bug when that sort of things happen. I would really think so, and that it hopefully will be fixed with a update. It usually does.
I remember 4.2.2. It was extremely battery friendly with draining my i9305 only 0.5 % per hour. Then 4.3 came and turned things upside down..
Sent fra min SM-N915FY via Tapatalk

What app can I use to check the battery usage. I get a little above 3 hours of screen time with stock ROM and power saver active. But this doesn't include playing games. I'd imagine my phone would drain even faster. I really don't think the phone has solid battery performance especially when I still barely get above 3 hours of screen time with mid bright setting and power saver.
And yeah I may go back to Lollipop because of the face lift but the Edge functionality on 4.4.4 is really really good.

Better battery stats is the best I think. But most of its functions requires root. It let's you monitor cpu stats without root.
Otherwise I think the inbuilt battery information let's you see a great deal of what's going on.
3 hrs screen on time wasn't much, is that one days use? You should at least expect 5 hrs I believe. How is your WiFi and mobile signal? Is it strong? Otherwise it will eat battery.

I got about 4 and half screen time on Kit Kat with little wifi use today. I also didn't play any games. I have Metro PCS riding on T Mobile. I tend to have LTE at all times in Dallas...except for when I am in some buildings.

4.5 is ok, but still you should be able to squeeze out more of it. Are your phone going into deep sleep? Better battery stats let's you check that.

Rooted or non rooted? And is rooting hard/risky for this phone? It seems Samsung with each note, cracks down on customizable ROMs

I'm rooted on my note 3, but not on this one. There is cf auto root for kitkat but not lollipop as far as I see.
I don't see a big point rooting this phone other than installing ad away. Many of the reasons I've rooted older phones doesn't exist on the note edge imo. Maybe so I can skip tracks with volume buttons.
Yank kernel with touchwake would have been nice, too bad he has given up Samsung..

Wait why dont you see a need to root Note Edge, and are you on a custom ROM?

I think as we all know Nova Launcher just doesn't play well with the Edge screen. I like having my Edge screen available to me at all times. Its why i bought the phone but with Nova, it blacks it out.
Is there any app that will let me have a scrollable background?

Back in the old days I found myself rooting so I could overclock the cpu and maybe the gpu. With a two core cpu spinning at maximum 1.2 ghz it was my main reason too root. And to install ad away and remap my buttons. But overclocking was my nr. 1 reason.
With this device there is no need to overclock imo. It really is superb as it is.
I can understand your thoughts regarding nova launcher. It disables some of the edge function. But I am used to Mac on the computer side, and with nova my edge acts like the dock on my Mac in hide mode. It is there when I need it.
So for me, nova works as I would like it to. Therefore I use nova not touchwiz home.
Don't know of a launcher that will keep your edge screen like it is in touchwiz, but I'll keep my eyes open.
I'm by the way non rooted on stock everything. Nothing custom on my edge.

Yeah for me, I only rooted to get smoother peformance or better battery life. I have a lot to learn in terms of squeezing more out of my edge. Between life, work, school got not time for now.
I did find an app called landscape wall paper. It does let me have scrollable background which really was the only reason I ever used Nova. I like TW at 4.4.4 because of how it takes advantage of everything EDge related. The whole reason why I bought the phone. So problems done for now. Just need to find ways to get more life out of my battery on stock 4.4.4 ROM. I am slowly getting used to not having the 5.0 face lift.

I do think its dumb and asinine why Samsung has not allowed TW to be put in landscape mode. Or integrate scrollable backrounds. Power users get shafted everyway because of casuals

Heavy Battery Drain in stock browser

Hello everybody,
I just noticed that browsing a website with the stock browser (with flash plugin disabled) produces a VERY BIG amount of heat, resulting in a quick battery drain.
I am not talking about clicking links, scrolling pages, etc....
I am experiencing this issue just opening a web page then leaving it alone 5 minutes with the display on.
If I open an article and scroll down a litlle bit every 10 seconds, the problem is bigger and the phone becomes VERY HOT
I have never had this problem with my Nexus S before
Do you have the same problem?
Same problem, internet browsing drain battery and overheath cover and battery, 42/43' C
Sent from my HTC One S using XDA
I will try unlocking bootloader and installing CM9 to check if the issue is related to stock firmware, did anyone try to use some flavour of CM9?
Yea I tested this on stock ROM, TrickDroid, CM9, and MIUI. Chrome and Dolphin seem to be less of a drain than stock Browser. Have not tested Firefox or Opera.
has anyone tried using chrome beta? i've had my hos for about 3 weeks now and have been mostly using chrome on it to surf. the phone gets at most warm if i surf a lot but nothing that would be considered hot.
I have tested this many times. Stock rom aswel as CM9 (v6,7 and 8).
On both I am getting around 4 hours of screen time before the battery runs out. Very consistent. Inverting colors doesn't seem to help either.

4 hours of continuous screen time sounds about right according to gsmarena's own battery test. check under web browsing. it's too bad this figure can't go any higher as the talk time and media playback both seem to be on the upper end of the chart.
i guess it's the downside of having android + amoled screen.
http://blog.gsmarena.com/htc-one-s-...-how-power-efficient-the-two-krait-cores-are/
just noticed that the windows phone 7.5 samsung focus s with super amoled plus screen is rated for 2 more hours of web browsing time and it also has a 4.3" screen (with lower res) and the same 1650mah battery. the only difference appears to be the OS and cpu. we definitely need android to run more efficiently.

after more day i have found a possible solution ... BEFORE the update at a 1.78 rom based, battery of my One S drain normally and back cover don't heat .. since using EVERY 1.78 based rom my battery drain quickly in the web browsing and all One S overheating .. there seem be a sw issues .. don't ?
i haven't used much of 1.53 after getting my phone and went straight to 1.78. maybe i should roll back and give that a try.

of course no one would want a single core cpu these days, at least not for a phone running android. my point for bringing up the focus s is that it's an older phone with slower and likely more power hungry cpu and yet it's able to last longer. everything else aside, the only difference would be the OS, screen res and cpu.
I read somewhere that SAMOLED screens drain faster on white colours, maybe that's why it drains faster on the browser.

This thread is quite old, but since I'm having the same issue with my phone, so thought not to create a new topic when one already exists.
Yesterday I used stock browser (not that much, not for hour(s)), and it took 36% of my phone's battery. I want to ask is it normal? Or only my phone having this issue that stock browser is taking so much of battery usage.
Secondly, you can't even close stock browser, I mean when you're done using it, you can only press the home key, and it is minimized and stays in the memory (thought was not showing in stock task manager, but in battery consumption, it was showing with "cross" button dark).
Please see the attached image, the browser has consumed 36% of battery with not a heavy usage. And secondly when I saw screen shots of battery posted by other users, there's "Screen" also showing up in the battery usage, but in my phone, no such thing "Screen" appears in battery usage. I'm using Apex launcher, is apex launcher = screen?
Regards
same issue with stock browser drain on S3 processor and android 4.1.1, any solution?
Edit:last htc stock rom

I can say that on stock 4.0.4 the integrated browser took 25% of battery per hour.
The problem is on "sleep" mode, seems stock browser are runnning and drains about 40%. This happens with a new S3 stock htc. I have an S4 with vodafone rom and works fine. This is strange behaviour but seems omer7 have the same problem
That is normal. on sense 4+ (JB), there is no screen use % like there was on ICS. Basically, your screen time % is included with the % of each app listed, that's why they seem high.
HTC_One_S | S-OFF | DeviantXone | Bubba_3.7b_SoftOV
yea battery drain is also happening for me in the stock browser but not that much in another one
Strange really
Could you guys please state how much juice are you consuming when surfing with the stock browser? So that we can make a more objective comparison. Also mention any relevant factors (e.g. kernel, undervolting, sunlight, etc.), if any.
In my case it's 25% per hour, with no direct sunlight. I'm on 4.0.4 though.

Help getting the best battery life

What rom should I use and also what tweaks/scripts should I install to get the best battery life
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
Hard to answer without testing some roms for yourself....
Synergy Rom is a good start which eliminates bloat from the provider...and then optimize the rom. Add a better kernel over stock like Imo or Ziggy and that took controlling CPU power (depending on your setting) can help gain better battery life...mean over 8+ or 12+ hours of life
30+ hours with almost 4 hours of screen time : cm10
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
This isn't really a tweak or script, but turning off mobile data and using wifi helps a ton. Constantly searching for 3G or 4G connection is what kills my phone's battery.
Here is what helps me..
-turn off any data that doesn't need to be running in the background while you are using it i.e...gps, 4g, bluetooth. (Use "phone info" from the market to switch from 3g to 4g.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1771840
-make email manual push. when you have email set to constantly search for new incoming messages it can run down more than needed. if nothing else switch to every 15-30 min.
- turn off all notifications that you dont need to be notified about
-screen brightness will be a HUGE battery eater. I have mine set at 1% most of the day which really helps. this screen is bright enough to have it that low and still see well.
-download "widgetsoid x2" free. a fully customizable toggle bar which will allow for easy on off for items like bluetooth, gps, wifi and gives you a brightness option to customize 3 settings. I have mine set for 1, 25 and 45%
-use setcpu or another app alike to control cpu. create a profile for "screen off".I set my profile at 348x486. this drops the processor while screen is in sleep mode and will save battery life.
-I dont know how effective this is, but I heard it helps and makes sense. Choose a dark wallpaper. Having a bright, full white wallpaper takes more battery life to display.
As for ROM's, its hard to say. there are so many things to take into consideration when someone says they got 30 hours on a rom vs the next person who only gets 12 hours. how much are they using it, what do they have running inthe background...etc. I tried both bean and synergy and I prefer bean. He just released R6 yesterday and people seem to like it a lot. I personally prefer R2, his original release. It has been super solid and I have had better results from it over 3.1, V5 and his late R6. My buddy has had GREAT results with synergy, but I did not. I gave it a week and ended up restoring back to bean.
download BatterySaver app from market. My s3 runs 12-15 hours on "Intelligent Mode"
Honestly, you can only do so much with software tweaks. If you're a hardcore power user, I suggest getting an extra battery of a similar size (~2000mah) or getting an extended battery.
As for what you can do to save battery, the only thing I can think of that people haven't already mentioned is turning off animations. It can make things feel a bit choppy, but you'll get things done faster, which means less screen time.

Search for the best battery saving OS

Hi ,
currently I'm running CodenameAndroid 3.3.0 on my Nexus S and everything runs smooth and works perfectly well for me, no doubts. But somehow I constantly get the feeling that the newer our operating system gets our batteries drain faster. Either this or my battery just gets old. However I'm searching for a Rom that has battery saving in main purpose. I dont care about playing games, the operating system or showing off how great my phone is. For this I have my Tablet The best solution for me would be a rom which is very low in batterydrain but as smooth as jellybean (maybe just port the transitions over). I know it might be hard to find something like this but is there any rom which matches my perception? Also a nice look would be cool, too ^^
I'm waiting for your responses!
I think you're looking for SlimBean. I'm on CNA too, the batter life is pretty bad
I tried SlimBean because I used SlimICS before but I miss too many features to change it back. Isn't there something else? Or which OS has the best batterylife in general?
i think gingerbread still has the best battery life.
androxide got me over 4hrs of screen time and a days usage with matrix
the new miui jb is also almost the same
IMO.....ICS's best battery life is on Kangy Ultra Ex 1.3 by DaXmax.
Just as long as u don't use Google talk since that's the ROMs only hiccup.
Then again like most will say.... its all depending on the user so hopefully it will help if u try.
I'm currently using the same developers JB ROM called paranoid Android..... so far it great but again I don't use all the newest features to much yet. I'm working myself slowing into the stuff.
Good luck
Vs Nexus S4G using tapatalk2
There is no ROM with super battery life, some better and some worst, very similar.
Most u can get from nexus s is +4hrs screen on.
And i don't care about those pathetic screen shots with +7hrs of screen on.
Fire up 3g/H stock browser, maps, music etc and we'll find out how good ur battery life is.
MIUI get's me aprox 4 hours and 50 minutes of on screen time. Lots of game playing, instant messaging, syncing, music, and social media (Instagram, twitter, tumblr.) And about 9 hours + when it get's to about 14%
EDIT: This is when using WIFI, not my 3G.

This question will produce every combo under the sun...but in the end no Real answer. Every phone/battery is different and how the person uses their phone. Apps installed, how much you use said apps, are the ram hogs, 2g, 3g, I could go on forever...just like this thread will if not eventually ignored or closed.
Closed, there is no answer to this question, the majority of battery drain will be the screen (depending on brightness) and whatever app you have installed and use.
Generally it's a matter of finding out what works for you.

Battery (screen time)

I have never used a 3k mAh battery(phone) before and now that i have i cant really see a big change here are the stats
1. 20% battery after 10 hours.
2. Screen time 5 hours.
3.call time 40 mins
4. I am connected to wifi all day so whenever my screen is on its either i am surfing net or using any other internet apps
5. No game played
These are the status for today (usually same other days too)
If anyone of u can take out some time to reply abt if ur guys are getting the same or almost same charge time or is it only me
Mine screem time always exceeds 6.30hrs and i play games
Between 5-6 hrs of screen-on time on all-day wifi, 20-30 mins of 2G calls, an hour of gaming, an hour of YouTube or music, and the rest of the time wasted on social networking & other apps, and in taking a LOT of photos.
There have been days where i've seen 7 hrs of SOT, but that was when the phone wasn't loaded with as many apps as it is now. Now its mostly around 5 hours on moderately heavy usage and just over 6 on days when i only text & browse the web.

Battery usage- not effective
Dear friends,
I hear you all talking about battery usage, and i am wondering if anything is wrong with my phone.... who knows... but i would like to report that, yes , indeed the screen time is reaching the 5 hours but the battery has been reduced from 90% to 15% and only using facebook and videos and the music player!!!! OMG!!!! I Mean OMG!!!
Where did you came up with 5 hours with youtube plus gaming plus facebook plus talking plus plus ????
To my humble belief the battery needs to save more energy. !!!! At the moment i dont have any tool to monitor if all 8 processors are runnning at the same time, but i am pretty sure that they do run together for everything! BUT actually they dont need to run !!! Especially when the phone is used only for facebook webrowsing and all these applications.!!!!!
all cores must be triggered and be fully working when you are using high end graphic games and stuff! Why all this battery is running for such small applications @???@@@@!!!!!?????????
I am not sure if anyone knows any solution on how to deactivate all these cores, but if there is swomebody i would appreciate it if he really did as it is a pitty all this battery to go wasted JUST AND ONLY FOR the purpose of just alll 8 cores running at the same time WITHOUT ANY LOGICAL REASON!!!!
This phone has amazing poetntials!!!! AMAZING POTENTIALS if it to be reprogrammed and debloated by developers such as yourselfs!! If i knew how i would immediatelly start searching for a solution to all these issues!!! There are much more issues than that and for this phone specs the capabilities are being wasted!!! It needs to be debloated and may other things that will enable this phone to become a big GADGET in the market as a low cost and proper phone that it its!
Please for your replies

I have left this phone on overnight for 7 hours with WiFi and 4G connections, starting with 100% charge. Periodically my phone would have been checking for new podcasts but other than that it wasn't doing anything.
On my Moto G 4G, the battery dropped from 100 to 93%.
On the Mi 4i it only dropped to 97%, which could be the much larger battery, but it might also be the CPU returning quickly to a deep sleep state as it can finish tasks quicker.
In day to day usage I haven't found it hugely better in terms of battery life but I think that's because the screen is a lot larger and also has far more pixels which places a greater requirement on the GPU.
I use the GSam Battery Monitor app and have attached a screenshot from this as well as from the MiUi6/Android graph.

Hi,
Wouldn't it be much more nicer though the fact of developing a new rom that the user will be able to do all these stuff ( i mean overclocking/underclocking, play with colors saturation and setting as well as eliminating all the process that prevent the phone from keeping the battery for 2 days! (that is even with wi fi use!)
Cause if you think about it , we are not far from previous low end generation phone that the used single core and much more less characteristics in order to run the exact same application on the same level, but in a lower graphics environment. Also look at samsung note 4 hibernation mode, that would be a development for this phone as well and keep the phone lasting for 30 days!
From one point of view we are talking with an open world of software, why not having these abilities why do we have to waste drain battery with no reason what so ever. ???
I think you know what short of improvements i am talking about and these would be accompanied perfectly with this phone specs.
what do you think guys?
i want your point of view, maybe i am not saying everything correctly.
Thanks

Yes that would be nice and I guess ASOP roms have all those features wat you are asking about. A new rom would be nice but miui keeps on fixes minor bugs I don't think mi would provide us that rom in near future and noone really likes to wait so everyone roots their phone and tweaks it xposed framework is one of the best thing after rooting

i have rooted my mi 4i but i cannot adjust only using two out of the eight cores for everything in order to achieve battery reduction.... there is non such application neither kernel development of any short hat allows you to change the kernel setting to how-many number of cores you would like.
But if you know any other way i would be most happy to hear about it my friend.
@vrtsvas

i am on
android version : 5.0.2. lrx22g
miui version 6.5.6.0 (lximicd) stable
why are you asking this though? how does this relates to the core programming and usage, do you know any software to downclock and use only two cores only? that would be the benefit to the story,

Well coz Dev ROM sucks the battery so I thought that might ur case yes u can under clock the processor and ur devices must be rooted for it since the kernel source is out I guess we shd wait for a new ROM i am sure someone would include that feature in the ROM

If someone have root can use "Tweaks For Mi 4i . Fast Charge, No Lagging, Fix issues. For Any ROM" thread from en.miui page to get more standby. I used Tweak your cpu. Phone was coller and by night it used about 3%. Now on V7 I'm not sure it works but that ROM got a lot wakelocks from enything. By night it used 5%.

Any S6 user happy with their phone?

Hi guys, I'm going straight to the point: are you happy with your phone (in general, I know every phone has some minor annoyances)? I keep reading on the internet people that keep on lamenting about it (bad battery, laggy, awful RAM management, ect.), that's why I've opened this thread. I don't have the phone and I plan on buying it (it or the s6 edge or edge+, still have to decide - unfortunately the note 5 isn't coming to Europe anytime soon -), but all the reports are making me scared of buying it.
I'm happy with it. But you enjoy it more with root. Custom kernel fixes the ram issue, keeps the system speedy, custom roms add more features and debtor for better performance and ram management. So I'm basically enjoying it because of root

Like osmosizzz above I can say that I am very happy with this phone. Once you root it and remove the bloatware this thing flies. Using a custom ROM and kernel I have better battery life, endless customization options and a speedy UI experience.

I'd like not to have to root, I'm just tired of it (coming from a nexus 4), but I guess I might consider it if I buy the S6
You really dont have to have root as the phone is still plenty fast and with each update that comes out they are improving the software of the phone.
It's the best phone I ever had, my only gripes are aggressive memory management and the placement of the speaker (I usually end up covering it when holding it ), lag and battery are a lot better since the 2nd 511 update, the first update from 501 was rather laggy
I have 2 of this phone. here are my opinions:
1st phone (rooted and on XstrestoLite ROM)
I have great battery life, responses and everything seems fine except for the current bug with BOGG firmwares, which resulted in the keyboard lag when coming for lockscreen (Keyboard open delay about 3-6 seconds) check out my battery life here and here
2nd phone (stock and not rooted ever)
I find that the battery life on this phone not as great as my 1st phone, but however, everything is pretty smooth and great to me. But for a short time i had problems with GPS not being able to lock properly on Waze and Google Maps, however, not sure what happened (i didn't update the phone or anything) but it was back to normal again. and never happened again ever since.
Verdict: i love both my phones, i'll have them only until the Samsung Galaxy S7 comes out.
I owned this phone for over 4 months now. It never lag and blazing fast, the fastest android phone I've ever seen and the most amazing design I've ever seen too. It is just how the poor memory management kills apps at the background when you doing heavy multi-tasking, I've heard the 2nd 5.1.1 OTA fixed it. If multi-tasking is your concern, you should consider S6 Edge Plus comes with 4GB ram.
The battery performance is above average, imagine when you got this ultra smooth speed plus 2K screen and with only a 2550mAh capacity, I'll say it has done the job pretty well on battery life and enough to use a full day for any light to medium usage user. Heavy user will need a 2nd charge but it supports QC2.0(just get a QC2.0 powerbank) or wireless charging.

External storage can be overcome easily with this cute staff.
Since I'm a one-hand lover and the S6 size is the max. acceptable limit to me. I'm thinking to swap to Sony Z5 Compact later but that's s810 cpu overheating issue scared me away, I may just stick with S6 until S8 out, still not decided yet atm.
Its pretty good, but the RAM management and the occasional battery freakout (background drain) are irritating. If 5.1.1 fixes these 2 issues, I'm gold.
Before anyone tells me I can custom, its a work phone, I need full stock unrooted/knox intact otherwise I can't hook into my work's MDM systems (yes, its really nazi security).
But even without root, debloating via package disabler pro/debloater makes a noticeable difference to battery, which is a poor indictment of Samsung (6th generation Galaxy and still not learnt their lesson?).
The camera is out of this world and you get REALLY used to having a reliable fingerprint reader, I just rest my thumb stupidly on the home button on other people's phones (and if there isn't a physical home button I just stare stupidly at the screen for ~2 seconds lol).
I've never actually used the 'swap battery' feature so don't miss it, work phone so I got the storage bumped but if I paid for it myself I'd probably be irritated at the cost
One happy user here.
Battery life, my only gripe. Otherwise a perfect phone for me. Won't be rooting, just changed the launcher (Nova prime) and Skinomi case. Happy S6 user here!
apart from the camera I don't like any thing about this phone.
Best phone i,ve ever had, fantastic camera/screen/battery lasts me a full day no problems at all
Unhappy user here; bad battery life, laggy software, agressive memory resulting to bad multi tasking; will definitely change the phone.

I'm quite pleased with it, and I didn't even root mine. I'm especially impressed with the GearVR.
Count me with the happy owners!
I will root soon anyway to get more flexibility and customization.
Since updating to the EVR firmware (for network specific settings) I love it, super fast and great performance even with intensive games. My one issue is battery life; although it lasts the day with ordinary use it does drain after a while of continuous use, but then again with fast charging I just plug it in for a few minutes and all is good.
Is there any fix for the memory management?

Only thing I dislike about this phone is the battery, but as other have said. Root->custom rom + kernel (and MAYBE soon Xposed) and this phone is at least average in battery life.
If you don't root (and is a power user, the phone is not for you). With root + custom rom + few tweaks I can go around 3-6 hours SOT on data (depending on brightness) and 6+ on wifi. Without I barely hit 3.
Phones like the Xperia Z3 compact can hit 6 hours SOT without root. So yeah, if rooting this phone is great, if not it sucks from a power user perspective.
