Galaxy Note 10.1 Stuck in Bootopp After Installing Update - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Another boot loop
Hello!
First of, I would like to apologize if you have seen this same thread title for nth time.
I have a problem with my note 10.1 (prior 2014 version) and warranty has expired already so I'm searching for the solution in the internet and it always lead me to xda site.
I have tried almost all guides and help I found in the internet and I think I'm going in circles. I have not done installing a custom rom in any of my android devices as I'm afraid to encounter an issue and not be able to resolve. But even though I update with only the official software update, I encountered my worst fear. My note is brick (I think). So here's what happen.
More that a month ago, I saw my note installing some updates. Then after some minutes, it re-started and the screen with something like "Downloading..do not turn off target" message appeared. I let it be until I sleep at night, I just connected the charger to ensure my note will not turn off. But when I wake up in the morning, my note is still showing the same screen and as I know, the software update wont take 8hrs to complete. I tried to re-start and the screen with "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." message. At that time, I did not know what Kies is, so I searched the internet. After I downloaded Kies, I restart my note but Kies does not recognize it.
And so my search for the solution in the internet has started, trying to follow all guides I encounter. For weeks I have tried but to no avail, until one day, I tried to install auto root. For the first time, I saw odin with the "PASS" message and I saw the samsung logo again. It continued to boot until I saw my wallpaper again. So I thought I have fixed it already. But when I was setting up the time zone, my note hang and I have no choice but to re-start. After the re-start, I'm back to where it all started.
I tried the same procedure I did when I had a temporary success but this time it always failed.
Sorry for the long story as I was trying to give the complete background as I think it will be helpful. Hopefully, you guys can help me resolve my issue. I really like Android but I never thought that it will be this hard to resolve an issue with it.
Thanks in advance! :good:

during my search, some guides will advise to use a specific odin version. why is this so?
I thought the latest version is always the best? maybe not thru with Android?

Hi guys, anyone kind enough to provide a working pit file for note 10.1 (GT-N8000) the old version?
I think there's a 2014 edition of Note 10.1. Mine is older version.

hello all.
I'm still unsuccessful in making my tablet useful again. May I know that is it possible for software update to damage the hardware of a tablet or any mobile device? This is the first time I heard of such thing. If it's true, then Samsung is not making it's devices a software friendly device. I hope this is not true and I can still fix my tablet.

[Q] Galaxy Note 10.1 upgrade encountered an issue problem

Hello all, im new on the forum. I have an Samsung Galaxy note 10.1. Today when i tried to update my firmware from 4.0.4 to 4.1.X the update stopped at 31% and after seeing for some time that it doesnt go i unpluged the cable. After that for some time it was stuck in upgrade mode- doing nothing. In 5-10 mins i got that Firmware upgrade encountered an issue error. It says please select recovery mode in Kies and try again.
Ok so i'm into kies and im trying for 2-3 times to recover my device, and every time it is stuck on 31%.
My device won't boot now / do anything.
I wonder if i need to root / flash something but i dont want to use my warranty. Since im new to rooting /flashing i could use some times and some hands on.
I have the N8000 - 3G version.
Thanks a lot in Advance !

I also noticed my laptop doesn't recognized the device after i download the latest firmware from samsung,i tried different softwares like Odin or kies none of them wouldn't recognized the device, so it was impossible to root my tablet..i bought a new usb cable and tried the same steps on a different pc still nothing...Its been two weeks now still not working and i don't know what else to do, if anyone ran to the same problem and knows how to fix it ,could you kindly help me resolve this issue or point me out to the right direction PLEASE!!!..Thank you.

Only able to go into download mode.
Help anyone ?
Hi koc88158
Got a similar problem as yours around last week, had also tried searching the forum for answer, this was what i done from experience. But im just a noobie.
1. First time it happened, i reflash Stock recovery from Odin, and for some reason it got through, all files not deleted, root still there. Probably some bug happened.
2. 2nd time happened, i need to reflash stock recovery and Stock Firmware/ROm from Odin. Kinda hard to find a download link for a Stock ROM, i had try all link from threads here that had died. Try sammobile.com or samsung-updates.com . I got it from there here is for 8013
http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-N8013
3.3rd time happening, well i got a busted mother board, i can still access the custom recovery and Odin. But all above steps had failed because the MoBo is gone. Take it to samsung for a replacement and while there i ask to change the battery as well just in case. And you can ask to flash a stock firmware, but dont go straight away to 4.4.2 KitKat in case you want to do it yourself or Flashing a Custom Rom
Hope it helps. Good luck
Download PROPER DRIVERS. Usually they are downloaded by kies but sometimes, they don't work. In case of that, you have to download samsung drivers by yourself. I think you can find it in here or simply google it.
Here is an another issue with laptops that I also encountered: When you plug in, despite you having drivers, pc doesn't recognize it or constantly the device connects and disconnects every 2 seconds. In that case, you need to update your bios version. However, this case is not likely.(If you are not bad luck brian like me) So focus on driver installation.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 SGH-i497 OS Update Assistance

So basically I recently decided that it would be a BRILLIANT idea to upgrade my tablet to 4.4+ so I could use Pokemon GO on it, but lo and behold I have gotten to the point where I have hit a wall
As the title says, it's a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 SGH-i497 that used to run 4.1.4 I believe, and I no longer can get past the boot screen, I can get into Recovery mode and Download mode, and I have a recovery save on Kies but Kies refuses to connect to the tablet in it's state, it just continues to attempt to connect forever.
I guess my question would be this...
Is there an OS that is SGH-i497 compatible that I can attempt to use through ODIN, or alternatively, can someone point out a good recovery file I can use through an SD-Card so I can at least use my tablet again.
I will be monitoring for the next 8 hours before bed to answer any questions and provide any more information that I can, and thank you very very much ahead of time if you can help, I've been combing through forums for the past 3-4 hours and finally decided to make an account to make a post. Hopefully if I can get this resolved, I can help people if they have a similar problem in the future.
Bump
Really hope someone knows something, at this point I honestly just want to get it back to it's normal stock stuff, I can't get it to connect to Kies when it's in download or recovery mode so my recovery files are on there and I don't know why it can't find the recovery files in the external SD card I have.
Bump
I'm screwed huh lol

How about you start by telling us what you did to get to this point?
Have you installed a custom recovery on it?
Have you done any reading on rooting, installing roms etc?
I recently acquired one of these as well, and I have yet to find somewhere definitely that says that custom roms can be used on it.
If you find one, please reply back though!

T815 random reboots, help please...

Hey guys,
Just got a beautiful galaxy tab s2.
Since sunday, my tablet keeps on restarting itself randomly with no specific reason i can think of. Offre course this really drives me nuts, even tried to hard reset it but still randomly rebooting.
Tab is completely stock, running on latest 6.0.1 firmware, MMB29K.T815XXU2BPD6...
Anyone can help please? Really want to avoid sending my device in for warranty as here in Italy it would take ages to come back :crying:
Thanks
Anyone can help :crying:
I've even restored via PC with smartswitch but still same problem occurs...
Did you ever fix it?
this is a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 forum not the s2 forum
