After first day working korrekt, the map is today 180° off. I tryed several restart's, with the result, twice 90° off and otherwise 180° off. Nithing of this happend the first day.

Can you please post your settings? Was direction coming from the compass?
O.k. In the moment it is 90° off Here are the Screenshots, one of the map, ( the waterside has to be on the right side), second screenshot from the settings.
I'm not sure anymore what's wrong. Got myself a real compass and downloaded an copass app von plays tore. The app compass shows the same direction like your app. The real compass shows real magnetic Nord. It could be a problem in the phone. Because, when I start your app, it shows at the beginning the correct direction and moves afterward slowly 90° to the left. I don't know what to make about these.

Haha Costa Rica! Cool! Yea the compass can be finnicky in phones, especially if you're in a car or near large metal objects. Actually that's why I made the "except for the first x seconds" so that it maintains the last direction from GPS for a little while which is more reliable. Having said that, you can calibrate the compass by rotating your phone a few times in your hands along each axis (x, y, z). What device is this?
Device is Note 4 N 910h. Just send a message. It's the phone. Needs calibration. I will do so. Afterward I send you a message.

Got it fixed in the secret menu on the phone keypad. Now works perfect.

@Flyview, please don't take this personally, but i believe it's a valid question. in your xda news post it claims that the pro app allows us to see speed, traffic and terrain. Now, with the exception of speed, Google Maps offers the traffic and terrain options for absolutely free built into the app, and judging by your screen caps it's Google's Maps that you're using. How is it that you believe it's okay to charge money for features that Google offers us for free, and using THEIR app to boot!?!
Again, to simplify: you're using Google's Maps info and charging money for a couple features that Google gives us for free.
Something within me doesn't feel right about this - encourage others to share their opinion.
Other than this, i will probably still DL this app to try it out as i like the concept and have had a handful of moments that i wish i had something like this.

Hi there. No offense taken. That is certainly a valid point you are making regarding the options that are usually free within Google Maps (traffic and map type choice). However, I don't see the premium options as essential, and I felt like most of the other options were essential to the app idea as a whole, which is what makes it different from Google Maps in itself, so I didn't want to monetize those.

BACKGROUND
Hi,
more than 6 years ago (I was 18 to that time) I developed my first Android app which happened to be a blood alcohol calculator, because to that time I personally saw the need for a proper app for that matter, LOL (I'm a German, you know...). This project has grown over the while, and after I've had quite a long pause from working on this project (more than two years), I now refocused on it and brought my app into the year 2018.
AlcDroid is more or less popular in Germany, occasionally getting name-dropped in some German articles from newspaper media or whatever, especially now when it comes to Christmas and New Year and everybody's about to drink a ****-ton of alcohol. And even though Germany is not the only place where there's party at Christmas and New Year and stuff, it is less popular in other parts of the world though, so I would love to read what for example the English-speaking community has to say. This may sound a bit naive, since an alcohol testing app might be considered as rather simple and universal, but there are some things I do not know too much about, like units (fluid ounces and stuff), and while I have implemented those features in theory, I am not too confident about how they turn out in "real life".
So let's get to the fancy part of feature lists, download links and landing pages.
FEATURES
* intuitive, slick interface following Material Design guidelines
* day / night mode (dark and light theme)
* notification widget
* line chart showing blood alcohol content metabolism
* detailed stats (weeks, months, years)
* takes many individual factors like age, gender, height and weight into account
* supports presets for a fast and intuitive usage
* can be used immediately, no lengthy configuration needed
* supports different units in size, weight, drink volume etc.
* drinking history (keep earlier dates)
DOWNLOAD
* Find AlcDroid Alcohol Tester on Google Play.
* Find the app website here.
Cool! Gonna try this out today

Looks great!
Problem that I found is that I can't enter fractions into the percent field, and sometimes when adding drinks, the graph isn't updated, just when I try to zoom it.
Some suggestions:
The graph could be automatically sized, when changes made to the inputs, to be entirely visible, not to start in the middle, and actually see the end of it too. And it seems that the vertical axis has problems too. (after testing big values, it doesn't seem to reset to smaller scale)
On my display (SGS, 4", 480x800) the graph screen isn't displayed entirely, so it is scrollable. This way it's a little hard to pinch&zoom the graph.
Maybe moment of calculation should be movable by scrolling the graph horizontally.
The interface is nice, but could you make a dark version too? (for AMOLED screens you know)
Thanks for your replies.
I will add "fraction support" in the next version. I wanted to prevent the user from inserting higher numbers than 99 and thus limited the field to a maximum length of 2 digits - but now I also think that this is kinda unnecesarry and being able to insert fractions seems to be more important to me now as well. I can also make use of a InputFilter, though I think that this is not that relevant.
The graph yet is only vertically auto-sized (y-axis). I think of adding such a "auto-sizing"-function to the x-axis as well. However, the graph's main task is to give a rough overview of the "time management" in AlcDroid - to inform the user where the day "starts" and "ends" and to visualize where one can add drinks.
When adding big values the y-scale actually should go up to a maximum of 6‰. On my device this seems to work flawlessly. Can you make a screenshot of the bug on your device?
And are you serious? You are able to scroll through and zoom into the graph? Actually I thought that I disabled those features... well, I'll have a look on it again.
Adding a dark interface shouldn't be such a big problem as well, I will think of adding this sooner or later.
Thanks again for the feedback and the suggestions!
Actually I was considering the max 6‰ of the Y axis an error. I entered a vast amount of alcohol for testing. The calculated value went up to 32.72‰, but the maximum of the curve was still at 6. As it does on your screenshot as well. But I guess that's not a real use case Considering that according to the description, even 4 can cause death.
And yepp, although it's extra hard because the scrolling of the whole layout, I can zoom vertically and horizontally too. Scrolling was only a suggestion.
I finally could motivate myself to continue working on AlcDroid again. You can now enter float values into the percent fields. And I added a dark design, though this was maybe the most unnecessary feature to add. Maybe TotalD3str4ct can check out out himself if he even reads this. I also fixed a few small bugs and added a new button.
I think I am now going to continue working on this app more frequently again. There are still quite a few things to do.
I made a huuuuuge update today. Check it out. I hope, there are not many bugs left. If so, please help me find them.
Push. Some feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Dark theme is a necessity to me. I try not to touch apps that don't have one. Plus in the club, the dimmer the screen, the better.
I made a mini update yesterday. Fixed a small bug, improved a few things and finally made a paid ad-free pro version for AlcDroid.

Dark theme now available. Test it now.
(Graphic bug from the delete button corners is a Android problem which is fixed since Android 3.0.)
Did a (quite huge) update again.
What's new:
- more accurate: new settings making BAC calculation much more accurate (start time, end time, absorption delay)
- more than one day support: archive and review your drinking history
- more information: see some detailed stats about your drinking history
- more beautiful: improved dark theme
- more up-to-date: notification bar widget
... and more.
Take a look at the new dark theme directly compared to the old from above:
Check it out!

same here. it's awesome
I liked enough free version and decided to buy, and so far there is only one issue that I see:
- when exiting any app (or at least any full screen app, which is 99% of them on phone), wallpaper animation always have very visible 'jump'
And by 'jump' i mean one position of planet/stars/background is drawn and then immediately it change to other which is slightly but very visibly shifted, comparable for example to tilt of 5mm (ie similar to tilting bottom of phone 5mm down).
BTW, seeing as I exit from those apps with 'back' button on my Galaxy S3, phone is probably 'tilted' some fraction of mm, but not nearly as much as picture change.
Also, this 'jump' happens even if phone is firmly on table.
*EDIT*
- when I reduced 'gyro sensitivity', it reduced size of 'jumping', but its still visible.
- 'hardware' back button on my SGS3 has tactile feedback (small vibration), and I thought that may have something to do with jumping, but just pressing back on main screen does not produce jump (even while it produce tactile feedback)
- when I enter 'APPS' page (which is transparent so wallpaper is visible and moving behind), and use back button, 'jump' does NOT occur
- also if i pull down notification screen (which on my 4.1 version completely cover screen and wallpaper is not visible), and pull it back without using back button, 'jump' again does not occur
- but for practically all apps (including integrated apps like messanger, contacts, settings...) , when I return to main screen I can see animation 'jump'
- it even happens if I exit using home button, or if I exit using menu button, and then press exit
- 'freeze' time (time between exiting app/initial wallpaper draw, and 'jump' (after which it continues to move smoothly) is not so small - about 0.5s

Thank you for the feedback. There might be delay on older phones as the resources are retrieved and the OpenGL surface is recreated on a resume but I'm surprised that it's causing a delay on the S3. My N7 has no noticeable delay.

Hi SimplicityApks!
You have created a very good app. It contains all the features that i think a good graph program should need.
I am looking forward to the release day of the pro version!
How much will the pro Version be costing?
Good Job!
Very cool app!
Hi developer,
first to say: great app.
It has a huge bunch of functions and it's clearly structured. It also fits the designguidelines of google .
I just have a few wishes for future features:
-I would love different colors for different graphes,
-and a list of the graphes put in before calculating where you can set the color.
Thats all!
So it's a bit work left, but I think you can release it in near future.
A last question: what will it cost?
Greetings, nexster

I am currently planning the customizeable colors for the graphs, just need to make a decision on the right color picker...
Will be in version 1.1 for sure!
The version I released here will also be free in the Play Store, I thought about 2$ for the pro version, though that is not final.
Thanks for the feedback and testing!
Really cool app. :good:
I've found some issues though:
In the value table, why is there a limit of shown values?
If you add one function to the function list and swype it away, the Gmail-like overlay to revert that is on top of the Cancel button (at least on my Nexus 4).
I made the app crash!
Show the graph for a function. Then open the analysis of the function and press the Pro features button and then the Pro Version Button. (Doesn't crash when I select fullscreen and then Pro Version.)
You could use a ShareActionProvider instead of the static share icon in the ActionBar.
What's about other colors for the graphs?
Oh, and I would prefer a Holo FunctionKeyboard.

Thanks for testing!
The limit for the values is to avoid huge lists and will be adjustable in the Pro version.
The overlay, ya, I gotta look at the lib again to see if I can reposition it.
Thanks for finding that bug, will have a look at that as well.
I was trying to implement the ShareActionProvider a while ago, but I did not yet have time to find a solution since I need a callback from it to generate the image! I remember our discussion on this one, we thought about extending the share action provider ...
And it's true, I need to find out how to properly theme the KeyboardView.

Ah, you're right. We had that talk.
You could also have a look at the code and create a library for a ShareActionProvider which has that callback.
Whatever solution you find, please notify me.
One more bug I've found: I entered "rt9x" and then the app froze and didn't do anything. I even had to reboot my phone once because often the system UI freazes as well for some time.
(I know it has to be "rt9(x)".)
Thanks for your response. Despite all the criticism (which is meant to be constructive), it's a great app. Keep it up. :good:

Better??
View attachment 2304794
Fixed the two other bugs, too (the one where the whole system crashed was an infinite loop which added "\n" to a String xD... I guess out of memory then.
For the toast overlapping the cancel button I haven't got a solution since I'm using the SwipeToDismissUndoList in a dialog. One solution would be to put it over the title, but that's not nice either, like this:

Thanks. :good:
Hm, you could create an issue on the Github issue tracker for that. Maybe someone else has an idea.
However, when I click on Tutorial in the overflow menu, nothing happens. I guess that there should be some ShowcaseView overlays, right?

I definetely need to get a github account, I'll do that tomorrow.
For now I've updated the app with the awesome holo-themed FunctionKeyboard!

Thanks.
I just tested the tutorial.
However, after choosing tutorial once, every time I return to the app (e.g. via the built-in Android task switcher or by launching it from the app drawer), the tutorial is shown now. It starts every time.
After deleting the app data, it works fine again (until I press on tutorial :laugh.
Another thing: What's about hiding the keyboard when the tutorial is shown?
I can't read the text with the keyboard shown in the background.

got me on that one
Actually, if you go to the grid, the tutorial will continue and then never show up again... But ya, I guess I need to dismiss it on exiting xD. And I thought I had the FunctionKeyboard hide, but that was just the standard Android keyboard. Gonna fix that now, thanks.
Updated!

Cool app, but I absolutely need color-coding (assign colors to every function) like Geogebra has (and my TI-nspire).

Hey,
I am proud to present my second app to a wider Audience! Since about two monts my App is now in the Play Store, but with my newest Version I dare to publish it here It would be absolutely amazing if you could test my App and tell me whats wrong and what else to implement. Even more amazing would be if you could post your created Light Paintings here! As it turned out I am a better Programmer than Photograph...

Hello Everyone,
I am happy to announce Version 0.5.0! Have Fun with it!
You can find it in the Play Store in a few hours, or you can sideload it now!
Cheers
KobiP
Hi!
I uploaded the BugFix Version 0.5.1. The APK I was installing with Eclipse worked fine, the APK that I exported and send to Play Store / Google Drive not. This should be solved now.
Cheers
Hello,
I am moving quickly towards the first Version that could be called "stable". This time I removed two Bugs: the first made the RGB color gradient to be executed as HSV. The second Bug was introduced in v0.5, it caused all color gradients to run for 5s, no matter what you applied.
I also Improved the UI: You can find now the Refresh Rate and Number of Lines on the Main Screen, not hidden in the Settings. Just press the new More Options Button. In the Settings you can find now a new Option that lets your Phone Vibrate when the color gradient is finished.
Cheers,
KobiP
Hello,
wow, more than two years later I have a new Version of the Light Painting Helper! This time it is a mayor rewrite of the App to get Material Design, Fractions, new Icon, ...
Much more of a maintenance release than new Features.
Tell me what you think!
Cheers
Hello,
another week, another update. This time just a small bugfix, when closing displaying a single color the app crashed.
Cheers
I've been using Light Painting Helper lately. Of all of the apps on the Play store, it's the only one that seems to work, so I thought I'd offer encouragement.
The use of the orientation sensor to 'pause' the pattern is really amazingly handy. My E-M5 Mk II has a "Live Time" mode so I can see the exposure take form on the iPad, while I use my Moto X to run your app. So, first I start your app, point the phone face-down, then I trigger the shutter, then I get in position to paint.
The 'lines' pattern tends to make for the most interesting texture.
I'd post a URL but I can't because anti-spam.
Hi. Just installed and know how to use it. Very helpfull app, I am wondering if you can add option for enter tekst that could be displayed as floating letters, like you observe it behind aperture. And moving phone will create hanging tekst when you capture it with camera with light painting option.

Sorry, what? You get it in Play Store and in the second post you find the APK to Sideload.
Well, ok, i can fully understand you, what about position of tekst at screen? Is too low and bottom half is cut.
And also - it`s too slow - i dont see option to speed it up.
And - great work! Keep it going. If this app cost about $1 i would buy it - if it works perfectly. Sometimes it crashes when i choose second option.

The whole app is done so it has a minimum impact on the battery life.
That being said, the app has three levels of cpu usage :
Max usage (about 2% ) When you activate scrolling .
Intermediate (about 1%) when you enable one of the options (Show widget by shaking - Activate scrolling by shaking)
Low (0%) when the server is started and the widget is shown but none of the above situations are valid.
Nice. Will test as soon as get home tonight and provide you with the feedback
Not working on Galaxy S4
This seems great, but it won't work on my GS4. I believe that the S4 is a multi-touch device but this app states that it's not supported. Any help or tips?
Unfortunately on my Samsung Tab 3 - 7" it is saying my device does not have multi-touch enabaled even though, as far as I know, it is a multi touch device. All other tests come up with green checks.

App efficiency
Well, the app worked on my s4 but it lacked fine controls: the its moves rather fast and stopping the its motion is somehow random, not regular. Its good because it works on other apps
Thank you , it's a relief to hear that the problem is fixed.
Next step will be fine-tuning the control as many of you have noted.

seems to got it to work by changing the scrollable area center to the actual center of my screen.
nice app, but was hoping for manual tilt scroll instead of automatic scrolling. would rather control the speed/scrolling by tilt rather than tilting back and forth to start/stop scrolling.

Be assured , I am going to implement the single tilt system besides the double one which is used now.

Hi,
I am unable to start the server in your app Tilt Scroll v1.0.25.
I am on JB 4.2.2.
It says my device does not suppot multi-touch.
Not sure why, as my device supports the same. Attached herewith the error that i get when trying to turn on the server and the multi-touch test results.
