Hi! Whenever I connect my SHIELD tablet to my laptop (WIN 10) it charges but never appears on my computer/PC. I tried using unchecking the option on the settings and rechecking but no luck. So do you guys know hot to fix this? Also, I kind of get how to start rooting the tablet but there's a missing information that I can't seem to get. Can you guys point me to the right direction? Will be rooting first time, by the way

Hi Guys.
It might seem funny. I do not have a PDAphone but I have a problem with my HPiPAQ hx2795. And I would greatly appreciate any comments or tips.
Here is the story:
I was trying to update setup/ROM. the first three updates went well. The forth one, didn't go through; it was showing time-out. it happened twice, the third time, I noticed a message on the left lower corner of the device, saying Connect A/C to flash, I tried to do it quickly before getting time-out. I guess I didn't do it quick enough. Anyway I plugged in the power to the cradle and it started flashing the ROM then I got the time-out error again. The screen reset and stuck @100% not going any further. To make it worse to me, it was not detectable by MS ActiveSync at all. I tried the active chat with the tech support of HP they said all is left for me to do is "going to parrot mode (= USB /serial Mode) and if the OS is not corrupted then I can repeat the ROM update and fix it" which I did with no luck as even in parrot mode, the device would noticed that the USB is connected but the PC would NOT recognize the device.
While I was searching the internet, I came across your site, beautiful and very interesting. I saw some people is using a program called NVID.exe.
IS THERE ANY SOFTWARE LIKE NVID.EXE THAT I CAN USE IT TO SOLVE MY PROBLEM on this HPiPAQ.
I was wondering about using something like that to get the device detectable by PC again. Is is possible even theoretically?
Please HELP.
I greatly appreciate all your comments and tips in advance.
Did you tried to do a clean reset? Or to put the device in bootloader or white bootloader mode and try to connect and see if recognize it?
Hard reset: butons 1+4+reset
Clean reset: buttons 1+3+power+reset
White bootloader mode: buttons 2+4+reset
what you call it "white bootloader mode" they call it "parrot mode". and yes I did try that. In that mode it shows Pre-BL: 1.00.04 that shows USB is connected or USB Cable is removed; however; my Win XP cannot recognize the new USB device.
Is there any way to make PC recognize this "HPiPAQ hx2795 in Parrot Mode". I mean any driver for WinXP to recognize this USB device as reachable device (updatable ROM)? Maybe that could be the "MAGIC KEY" to solve all people's problem suffering from such an issue?
I hear about mytt11.exe alot in posts here and there. What does it do? Where can I find it in order to give it a try?

HPiPAQ hx2795-WM5, failed ROM update
My G-tab suddenly became undetectable by my PCs when I connected via USB. Not wanting to bother the devs or anyone else unless I really needed to, I spent about 24 solid hours trying to find and fix the problem. I'll spare you the gory details of all the different things I tried. It wasn't pretty, and completely futile. Then it finally occurred to me to try another cable. D'oh. Problem solved. The cable that came with the G-tab apparently bricked, two weeks after I got it. So all's well that ends well.
Your post made me sad..
Because I'm having trouble getting my PC to connect to my tablet, and I thought you'd found a solution I could use.
I'm using the Vegan-Ginger. It used to work, and then yesterday, instead of seeing the PC connection in my notification bar, I had an icon that said USB debugging. I found I could turn off debugging, but that still doesn't fix the problem of my PC not connecting to my tablet. With debugging turned off I don't get any icon in my notification bar when connected to the PC.
I've been searching the forums, but haven't found the solution yet.
Update: I found I could connect to a PC by mounting the drive in Clockwork Recovery mode. Still if anyone has a suggestion on how to mount the tablet without using Clockwork, I'd love to hear it.
Dear Folk,
I bought a brand new Nexus S and it is bugging when connecting to my computer (WinXP, SP2). I mean when allowing debugging, clicking on the connection icon to activate the USB connection, it switches to the next screen with orange Android icon but straight away, it comes back to the invite screen with the green Android icon as picture attached.
I've done many forums before writting you and most of them where talking about drivers or rooting phone which I don't want yet. Seems drivers are good as when plugging, I hear the sound from my pc and icon is recognized as 'Android phone'.
Anyone can help me, please ? Let me know if more info is needed from my side.
Cheers,

Check whether there is something wrong with your computer. Try using PDAnet software for installing the driver again.
Still have issues do a factory reset.
Settings-->Privacy-->Factory data reset.
Thanks saranyan !
I did the factory reset and was still not working properly even with PDANet installed. Suddenly I had a light and changed the USB port ... plugged my phone on the back PC ... it was working fine like magic !!!
Anyway, thanks for having answered me. Topic can be closed !
When I connect the Transformer to my computer I get the message "USB device not recognized." Have read many threads on this subject. The main solution seems to be to RMA your Transformer and get a new one sent by Asus, but mine was refurbished and is already out of warranty. I have tried the Asus Suite and also the alternative "Naked" drivers. Nothing has worked.
Was previously running on Revolver 3. Just upgraded my system to Revolver 4, doing a factory reset and full wipe, hoping that might solve the problem, but it has not.
I have read that some people with a rooted Transformer have solved this problem by "re installing the bootloader," nut I have been unable to find information on how to do this. Is this an option in my situation and does anyone know or could anyone connect me to a link describing the process?
Assuming I cannot get my Transformer recognized by my PC after reinstalling the bootloader, what would be the most convenient way for me to transfer files between the two?
Thanks for your help.
Update on the problem:
Last night I decided to experiment with the USB connection, pushing and moving the USB connector once it was connected to the computer. And guess what? For a split second my device got recognized, and actually showed up in Windows Explorer. Then a second later I was getting the same "USB device not recognized message." By fiddling with the connector I was able to get this split second recognition about four or five times, then I gave up. It's just not good enough to have the device recognized for one second!
Anyway, based on this I conclude my Transformer hardware and system must be fine, it's just the sync cord is poorly made--well, it doesn't seem to be the cord, but the USB connector specifically that is defective.
The cord does work to charge my Transformer when plugged into an electrical socket, so all the more odd that it malfunctions when attached to a computer. I've now discovered several threads describing a similar situation: cord worked for charging but stopped working for computer connection. So looks like what we are dealing with here is fairly common manufacturing defect with the USB connector on the Asus Transformer cord.
I won't know for sure until I get a new cord, but once I do I'll post an update as to whether or not the problem is solved. Hope this can help someone else in the same boat. At least worth trying a new cord before RMA!
hello
perhaps stupid questions, but :
- Did you tried to check/uncheck "USB debugging" ?
- did you tried to communicate with ADB ?
i have the same problem with mine. i just ordered a new cable. hopefully this fix the problem so can root and install new ROM
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using xda app-developers app.
reset the system ,and then try
reset the system to default ,and then try
Go to device manager on your laptop and uninstall and delete drivers for Asus transformer, restart your laptop and reinstall the driers then it should work fine

something similar just started happening, but only after i rooted it.
my tablet used to connect to Windows 7 just perfectly. but immediately after root, (with the same cable that was used to root it) is no longer recognized by Windows 7. haven't tried a different cable because i didn't have another handy at the time, but i will try to use another cable.
then i've tried to uninstall the drivers from Device Manager, and downloaded the USB drivers ZIP from the ASUS site... "ASUS_Android_USB_drivers_for_Windows.zip"
but when browse to the INF file during the detection part, i get an alert message that won't allow the use of the INF file.
any help would be much appreciated.
I frequently buy phones just for phone and happened to buy this one yesterday. I try to unlock and root all my androids but i cant access the usb connection on this one to allow me to transfer and use fastboot. I plug it in and the phone charges perfectly fine but doesnt give option for usb and doesnt pop up on computer, doesnt even make the sound it makes when something new is connected. I dont know whats the problem ive tried digging around the internet and cant find a solution so im hoping you guys can help. Please any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Ive installed htc sync, uninstalled it, tried again, installed htc drivers over again, tried different computers with windows 7 and windows 8.1, tried different usb cords, even went and wasted money on a new one.
