Hi guys,
I have some important pictures that I need to retrieve on my phone that I took about an hour ago.
The pictures are coming up as damaged on my SD card. I have included a screenshot below.
I have tried to transfer the files to my computer, without any luck.
Any ideas will be great.

Recently, I found a strange thins~(my rom is vegan5.1.1)
I have copied some files (which include the video files and doc files) from my laptop to my micro sdcard in gtablet(patriot 8G 4 class). I copied them through the wifi by using "ES files explorer".
1,2 days later, I found that all the video files which I have copied to the sdcard lost! but the doc files exist!
Then i did some test, and found that it is not cause by the power off/on of the gtablet. The video files will suddenly disappear, maybe 2 hour later, or 2 days later...just a random time...for no reason...
besides that, the if I copy some video files by mounting my sdcard in my laptop, and then I put the sacard in my tablet, these vedio files will not lost even several days later...
anyone ever have the similar issue?
I just want to know why! why just the video files?
this problem is caused by the ROM, or ES files explorer, or my micro sdcard?
thanks!

It's known bug with Vegan B511.
Use ES File manager to create folder named .nomedia (dot nomedia) and put all your video files in there.
Thanks
btw, so if I want put some picture or audio files, I also need to create folder named .nomedia to resist the auto delete?

Auto delete only happen to video and image files. Audio is fine.
Create .nomedia folder and put all video & image files in there.
i'm using khalpower's rom but this problem was here before that too... everytime i restart the phone, the recent images and videos just disappear, deleted!! BUT; if i rename the new photo-video files to somethng else than its original name(defaultly date-time combination) those files can stay in sdcard after restarts.... why does the phone or software deletes all the recently taken image files if we leave them with original name???

I have never seen/heard anything like this. So you just take a photo, see it on the sd card, then reboot. Picture gone?
Exatly, the picture is on sdcard but after reboot its gone :s. If i rename that picture file, it stays on card even i reboot...
But i have a dcim/camera folder on sdcard from 2.1 eclair and when i take a photo it's located another camera folder in the same directory.... i will try to delete old folder and take pics now maybe with a fresh folder it will be good....

Try restoring your rom again, what rom are you running? Also try reformatting your sd card
Hello Friends
I am using HTC Explorer (Rooted) and facing a problem
When I take a picture, it is saved in sdcard as usual. I can see it in gallery. However, when i connect the mobile to PC with a USB cable, I cannot see the same picture, it gets deleted automatically. Now when I remove the phone from PC and see the photo in gallery, its also gone from there too.
Any help how to get this issue resolved?
Regards
Fahad
Try with air droid.
I know, this is just a workaround but it should work.

Thanks my friend, its now working fine with airdriod. Just wondering if there is any way to recover my deleted pictures? They are no where to be seen now.

Check if there is a .nomedia file in sdcard, delete it if its there. And if the photos are deleted then you can use any photo recovery software for sd card , can be easily found by google.
Hope this helps.

Try to find in DCIM folder on SD card
Hey guys,
Since Dropbox basically is a folder on my hard drive, I was wondering what would happen if I would format my hard drive and thus delete the Dropbox folder. Will everything remain intact, be deleted or downloaded again later on?
Thanks in advance.
It's up to the dropbox app. The app it is monitoring changes to the folder, only copy paste rename delete but formating the drive will result in sync error.

But does that mean that the files will stay in the folder and that new files won't sync properly?

No, no, no.
If you simply format the hard drive then it will be as if you apply your DropBox account to a new PC. Once you install it, it will sync perfectly and pull all your files down to the newly-formatted hard-drive absolutely fine.
That sounds better, thank you. And if you format the hard drive and not yet apply your account to a newly formatted one, will the files be already accessible in the browser?

Same thing different perspective
And yes your file are accessible online in the browser or on any other device.

Hello People,
I'm agree Dropbox is a cloud. Right now I want to format my Mac and I have more than 60 GB in my dropbox folder. If I format my mac (I will lost all the information), should I have to wait (a long time) the sync between my computer and my dropbox before using the files OR can I copy and paste my files in the Dropbox folders (the files just before the format) and "nothing happened"?
Thank you so much for your help guys :good:.

You 'should' be able to copy the files and restore them, but if anything else changes on DropBox in the meantime you may end up with some duplicated files to weed out manually.
on a computer, deleted files can be still be recovered via tools like recuva or disk digger. Not unless you use a program to overwrite fee space a number of times. Is it the same with android devices?
i have another scenario though, i have a tablet that i plugged a micro sd card to to view files. I dont save those files to the tablet, just view them. Then just eject the card when done. If someone were to somehow gain possession of my tablet, can they find out what the file is and somehow get a copy of that file via the temporary folder or something?
I would appreciate it if experts can answer and give advice on my rather uncommon questions.
Thanks

Files deleted in android are not actually deleted, the space the file is in is marked as free space but the data remains there ignored by the system until that space is overwritten or is formatted.
When viewing files from sdcard, some data that was viewed is cached and can be found/recovered later possibly if cache is not cleared but the data recovered might not be enough to tell them anything.
