[TUT][HOWTO] Install European ROM on Xiaomi Mi4i - Xiaomi Mi 4i

Hello all,
Because its not possible to install the normal way trough the updater app, you must it do a diffrent way.
You can install it trough TWRP by using this Mi4i toolkit: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1eqnVInak04UE8wSUVKTWg2bzA/view?pli=1
Before you can do this, you must turn usb-debugging on and install the adb drivers from this link https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0MKgCbUM0itSUhpUklCTFpzWkE&authuser=0 and press a few times on y and install the google driver to at the last step.
If you are done, you can start the toolkit.exe as administrator and press option 2 install TWRP. After the installlation is done, zou can now install the latest xiaomi.eu drivers.
By going to there website download the latest ROM for the MI4i.
After downloaded the ROM put it in the root of your device called download_rom and turn off your phone completley. Than powerbutton + volume down till you see the custom recovery by maydag. After you are in the TWRP you will see the first block called install. From there you can choose the downloaded rom and it will automaticly install the rom. At the end you must choose to clear the cache dalvik. After that you have installed succesfully the european xiaomi.eu ROM..

Where do I get Gapps without pc

I recently just rooted my phone (Nexus 6) and added custom ROM and custom back up for CM12 but when everything booted up there were no Google apps and I cannot download any apps as well bc there is no play store? How do I get Gapps on my phone without having to use a PC bc I got through this whole process without one so I need to finish it likewise and plus I do not have a computer yet.

To avoid future confusion are you on cm12.0 or cm12.1? Gapps packages are available as a zip package which you flash in recovery just like a ROM (but over the top, after ROM install ).
If you can work out the one you want without further help from me, I recommend slim gapps. Just pick the correct one you want, download on phone to storage and flash in recovery.
Ok so I am currently running cm12.1 and I have downloaded a zip file for the gapps but of course its not compatible with any of CM12.1's stock apps. So the question is how do I correctly flash in recovery and get the gapps file unzipped.
also when I try to flash it it in recovery my twrp is not loading up. It says "cyanogen Recovery" Im not sure hwats going on but what can i do excatly

Why would it not be compatible? All GApps are are things like sync and more surface level apps like YouTube. Link me the exact package you downloaded and I'll tell you if its ok. Just do a nandroid backup and flash, the worse that can happen is that it doesn't work and you have to restore.

So when i hold down the power button its gives me the option to reboot and i choose reboot then it says recovery or bootloader and i go to recovery. Instead of Twrp its just boots to "cyanogen recovery" and when im there i pressed install update because i want to install the gapps (I have the gapps zip file in my download folder) but after i press it it just says install failed and it prompts me back to recovery screen.
so i pressed reset on accident now i do not have anything on my phone expect for the cm12.1 because I checked the file manager and all my other twrp dowloads are gone as well as everything.
SO am i screwed or can i recovery from this failure.
Mind you i have a nexus 6

So you mean you have no ROM to boot into?
I'm not familiar with Cyanogen recovery... try to see if you can flash the ROM from the "install update" option.
If this succeeds, I recommend flashing TWRP as this will present far fewer issues than Cyanogen recovery.
Will I need a computer?

For which part? If you can boot into Cyanogen recovery, and you have the ROM zip file on your phone, then flash that using "install update" in recovery then boot it. If that works I'll guide you from there.
For the TWRP part, possibly. Some phones work fine just with the TWRP app.
Okay can you boot into a working ROM or not? if you can then don't worry, it's an easy fix. Alright so since you factory reset your device you'll have to go into settings and enable developer options and enable root. Once you did that download TWRP Manager and install TWRP for your Nexus 6. Now you're rid of that useless CyanogenMod recovery (only thing you can do with that is factory reset and install CM). Then redownload whatever Gapps you had tried to flash and flash them over CM12

So I downloaded the apk TWRP and it would not let me install the latest version (maybe because that was the one i installed orignally before i reset the phone) but it let me download the one right before the newest one "Twrp-2.8.7.0-shamu.img" to be excat. And prior to this i had already downloaded the slim Gapps as a zip ( i used the link that "HTCDreamOn" gave me on earlier in the thread) and they are located in my downloads folder.
Boom so i reboot the phone into recovery and finally Twrp recovery pops up instead of the cm recovery so thats good news but when i pressed install to flash the gapps they were not there in fact next to internal memeory it said "0 MB". so why is it saying i have nothing in my memory. I mean the download folder didnt even show up
Can you make a backup? What I mean is, does TWRP function otherwise or does everything say 0mb? When you go into the "mount" section is data checked?

[Resolved] Custom recovery not working android one

Hi All,
I own a android one device(Spice dream UNO(MI498)). I have installed Marshmallo Stock rom init. After some days I changed my mind to install CyanogenMod Snapshot recently released.
Now the problem what I'm facing is recovery is not working, I have tried to install TWRP,PhilzTourch and even CWM.
TWRP --> Not opening at all it just shows team win wall paper and just blinking.
After rebooting I got TWRP home screen , So I did format/clean up the required partition to install new rom and select zip file to install new rom, It just coming back to home screen in a second without instaling.
PhilzTouch --> after opening I see dead android behind menu. I'm not able to install zip from here as well.
CWM -- > After opening It asks me to root the device and I say Yes and rebooted, after recovery itself is not opening.
I did this procedure again and again but no luck
Donwload tmrp.img file from google ( just search and download )
and flash via flashify app ( playstore )
thats all.

[Completed] CM13 + CWM + Gapps = Brick

Ok. I have a Samsung S4 mini. Yesterday I installed CM13. Dumb thing to do.
It was an automatic update from CMUpdater, so not through the Recovery menu.
For my surprise, I noticed that this update also updated the ClockWorkMod Recovery to the latest version available.
The CM13 installation went well actually .The phone booted fine. Then of course I needed the new Gapps installed. I downloaded the correct Gapps. Boot into CWM recovery. Choose the Gapps ZIP file. And... Error! I went back to phone to enable root acess (ADB & Apps), and enabled USB debugging also. And...Error! No way to install Gapps with CWM recovery.
After some search I realize that the new Gapps for CM13 is somehow not compatible with the CWM recovery that was instaled. So I downloaded ROM MANAGER to change the recovery to TWRP, which everybody said would perfectly flash the Gapps smoothly. Nothing happened. No TWPR. Only CWM still on. Then I downloaded Flashify and went back and forth on installing and unistalling TWPR and CWM. On and On.
Conclusion: somewhere along the process not only I couldnĀ“t install TWRP recovery, but also have wrecked the CWM recovery. Now, no matter what I do, I cannot enter recovery mode at all, hence i cannot neither install Gapps or Reinstall another ROM to "start from scratch"....
I can boot the phone normally.
I can boot into donwload mode normally.
I tried installing TWRP .tar with ODIN3 but it keeps saying "cant open USB port", so it fails.
I have also installed KIES. It sucessfully install drivers, but fails to connect with my device.
Is there anyway to install a Recovery or a fresh new ROM without having to boot recovery?!
Some help? Please.
Hello,
Welcome to XDA.
Do you have USB debugging enabled in system settings to allow flashing via Odin? You may not even need to use Odin.

Eui 5.8 19s Marshmallow 6.0 Indian for X500/ X507, TWRP method [ GUIDE ]

]Hi, Guys, looking for update to Eui Marshmallow 5.8 19s, but unable to do so because of custom rom, root, unlocked bootloader & also don,t want all that hassle to go back to stock rom, recovery etc, just want regular twrp flash, then here we go,
Requirements:
1. Eui 5.8 19s Stock Rom
Link: http://bit.ly/2imQKDN
2. Twrp 3.0.2.0 ( Considering u unlocked bootloader, Rooted, Twrp Installed)
Link: http://bit.ly/2h8JQB6
3. updater-script
Link: http://bit.ly/2hxZ6bM
4. Minimal ADB & Fastboot ( For Flashing after rom installation / Already contain Twrp 3.0.2.0)
Link: http://bit.ly/2hfGUG9
5. Super SU Zip ( For Rooting)
Link: http://bit.ly/2i1CbZJ
Good practice: Always Backup ur Full Rom in Twrp
Preparing Zip:
1. Now Double click on Downloaded zip & open it, Do not extract
2. Go META-INF/com/google/android
3. Add downloaded Updater-script with winzip option at left top corner, it will replace ur existing script file.
4. Copy Zip file to internal storage
Thats it, ready for flash
Twrp Flashing:
1. boot into recovery using system update menu
2. Wipe everything except internal storage ( or u can also wipe that too)
i kept it because of all data, so it doesnt matter or also u can upgrade on existing rom without wiping anything,
no matter what it will work
3. flash zip, be patient, its big rom, it will take time
4. After Finish, wipe cache / dalvik, reboot, Twrp will show No os installed, ignore it & reboot
5. After reboot, may be or may be not u will find Orange Status, that ur bootloader is unlocked, device canot be trusted, Dont scare, it will reboot.
6. If booting takes lot of time then switch off device by keep pressing power button for 10sec
7. reboot again rom will start optimizing apps
& There u go ur in EUI 5.8 19S Marshmallow
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recommendation: Better Do clean install with all wipes
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks
For any queries, pls comment,
Happy to help u Always...
Can u guys help me.
I have a 1s x500 running 0026s, TWRP and Gapps. I have also now rooted by flashing supersu 2.82. Almost everthing is okay but some apps now won't work with a rooted phone.
I have tried to flash the 0026s rom again to clear gapps and root but the Twrp update says that the update is for X3 and not x3. I have checked the build prop file and the device is set to X3 so I don't know how to proceed to flash either the current rom or any future roms.
Can anyone help as I currently cannot unroot or do any further rom installs.
I think I need to edit the updater script file to remove the ro.product.device check? Anything else?? Any other fixes?
I don't want to clear the system in case I have a completely bricked phone.

mi mix 3 - stuck on twrp bootloop ?

Ok so fresh out the box, unlocked bootloader etc.
I have twrp running finally, and have gone through following the steps format/wipe etc.
flashed several differant roms to just try and get one to boot. every reboot it will automatically go into twrp..
I have tried Arrow, Lineage, pixel experience and all of them result in the same mi bootloop and automatically booting twrp.
im following the arrow install instructions :
New build required to be on MIUI Q firmware part (Recommended V12.0.1.0).
Use TWRP.
Make FULL WIPE (system/vendor/data/dalvik/cache) and FORMAT DATA - YES.
Flash ROM (link in first post)
Flash gapps, if need for VANILLA buildtype.
Reboot
when i flash the Xiaomi eu 12.0.1.0 as suggested... twrp bootloop.
so i am sitting with a device going between Mi screen and recovery only. I have no system ?
Can someone point me in the right direction.
Hi,
I do a full wipe like the instruction. After that I install the Xiaomi.eu v12 build. When that is installed immediately install Arrow 11 without formatting (and gapps if you choose the VANILLA build). I then don't install magisk or any other root solution and I reboot the device. This worked for me when I installed LineageOS and when I installed Arrow 10 and now 11.
So I first install Xiaomi and than the ROM I want without a format or reboot between them. If you are booted in the rom I then look into a root solution and install that if you want atleast.
