(Sprint Users) - Galaxy Tab 4 Offer - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note5

Did you take it mean you have to get a separate data plan just for it. The online chat folks says you have to have a data plan just for it.
It really is not an offer at all if that is the case. At least how it is being represented.

Yes you need a data plan for it unless you add it to a share a share plan, then you'd just pay the access charge.

What about the "up to $200" when you get the Note 5 -- does that $200 go towards the cost of the phone or ?

Also, the early upgrade. That's eligible upgrade after 1 year?

The $200 is for in store credit or can be applied as a bill credit.
Yes the early upgrade is after 12 months. Usually it's an extra $10 a month for it but they have a promo that includes the early upgrade option free if you buy the note 5 or edge plus. I think that is going on until September, I can't remember the exact date since they announced right before I left work today.

I'm not 100% sure on that. When I get to work later today I'll check and get back to you.
Edit: the $200 credit is through Samsung also so you wouldn't be able to put it on the phone if you bought it outright. If you lease or do easy pay you could use that $200 on each months bill to cover the price of the phone.

I thought about getting the tablet but it's kinda a mid range tablet... Just barely over 720p display. Would be better if they offered a higher end tablet.

i sure as hell won't spend $240 for a cheap old near-end-of-life tablet. i turned that offer down.

Tabs 4
Not a bad tablet over all. Plan only costs $15 a month or you get a $10 service credit when buying a tablet through easy pay. Either way, you don't pay monthly on the tab, or taxes, just the plan. You pay $15 easy on a meal a day. Use the tab for Excel, or Word or side sync, in conjunction with the unlocked WiFi hotspot, becomes very useful.
I also work for said carrier. ?

They offer me a "free tab" everytime. I say sure without a plan. Needless to say I still have my tab 3 wifi
Lol

Hmm I got the tab 4 but I have one free gig a month for a year and no additional plan, also my note is hotspot modded. Yeah its kinda slow compared to our beast mode phone. I rooted mine with kingroot then used super sume to remove kingroot. According to them, it's constantly sending info to KR in China about what apps you grant or deny permissions....supposedly. They use it to determine which apps are safe vs dangerous I guess? On my n3 I just granted global allow to all apps.
Not sure what I'm gonna do with it.
Set it up for easily mounting in a car to use as navigation/ movie music player? They've got this slick little magnets that you 3m to the back of the phone and on your dash/mounting location. I wouldn't use them on my phone because the magnet does stick out. I would be okay with buying a case for the tab, cutting a hole in it for the magnet to off set its size.

I ended up going for it. Leased my Note 5, got the free Tab 4. My kids use it for light school work on the way home (they have an hour drive, go to school in my wife's district), and since my son's LG G3 has Hotspot, they only use the data when daddy lets them. Works perfectly, rooted and on a custom debloated rom.

I picked up 2 on Friday from Sprint. There is a $5 monthly plan which gives you basically no data, or a $15 plan that gives you 2GB of data. With the Wifi Tab 3 retailing for $199 with 8 GB of internal storage in the US this is a good deal. The major kicker is if you break your contract right away the fee is $200, so basically you can get a 4G enabled Tab 3 with 16 GB of internal storage for $250 and then no data plan.
I went for this deal last week as well, bought a Case/Pen combo from Amazon for 15$ w/ free shipping.
I used an additional promo code that has since expired, gave me a $50 statement credit.
I went with the $5 for 25MB of data plan, I plan on using this wifi only or with my unlimited VZW line if LTE band 13 is unlocked.
So after tax this is going to cost 54.43 - 50 + (22 * 5.34) = 132.59 USD
Now to start reading about what I can do with this thing Hopefully bootloader unlock, custom recovery and custom rom's are available.

One thing to note on this tab.. it is does not have the same specs as the wifi tab 3.. this one has 1.5gb ram (wifi is 1gb), this one is 1.7ghz, (wifi is 1.2 or 1.5.. I forget), and this tab has 16gb of storage) It seems to have a few quirks... I seem to have issues transitioning from cellular to wifi once in a while which requires a reboot.. I bought the Samsung folio case, which is pretty nice, and doesn't add bulk.. but sometimes the flip cover keeps the screen active...
I'm happy with my purchase.. 49.99 - Activation fee waved, and I opted for the 15/month plan.. sneaky SOB at the sprint store added a 13.00/month protection plan without telling me. Sleaze!.. Luckily I found it and removed it today. Love WAZE on this this tablet, and this fits perfectly in my console so it's like a huge GPS...
I also see that it's loaded down with useless applications.. I hope root comes soon, and somebody cooks a nice bloat-free ROM for this..
Order mine a few days ago just came in today. Ordering 2 more for the kids (and turning mobile data off.)
Went in to the store yesterday and picked this up. It was "Tablet Tuesday" that Sprint is doing this month so I walked out of there without paying anything for it. Tablet Tuesday is $50 off on tablets so of the initial price of $49 is still there next Tuesday it can be gotten for free then also.

ATT good deals

I just switch my plan with ATT. I got now 10 GB share plus unlimited talk and messages 3 smart phones connected for $145. Compare to last I had some around $190 and each phone had 2 GB data.
Is looks good for me, but other can have defriend opinion.
Did you get to keep the phones you already had, or did you have to trade?
They started this in the beginning of Feb. If you have 3 or more lines, this is definitely worth it. I went from 225 to 140 with taxes and warranty.
Just go to att wireless and you can change the plan. No need to buy anything or trade.

Can you guys provide a link to those plans? Ours is only 4 GB shared with 3 phones and it is well over $145 a month

I was on a Mobile Share Plan paying around $205 after taxes & fees for 3 lines on the 4 GB plan. I called the other day and got moved to the Mobile Share Value plan without any issues... next billing cycle will indeed be cheaper after doing the math the service dropped to $145 along with tax & fees of around $10-$15. I definitely have no problem with saving nearly $50 or so dollars a month while getting more data out of the deal. T-Mobile really has AT&T scrambling to keep customers from jumping ship, and we're reaping the benefits.

So they doing this to sell less phones? Not to smart.

Can someone please tell me the difference between Next and the 2 year upgrade plan?
Basically if you're in a 2 year contract signed prior to 2/2 then your line is $15 on a 10gb+ value plan. If in the future you sign another 2yr then your price goes up from $15 to $40. If on next it stays $15 and adds installment. No contract stays $15.

I ended up switching and grabbed a couple sgs2's on swappa for my other lines that weren't smart phones before. This gs4 is my last carrier phone I'm going to get I think. Either a nexus or Google play edition of the next great thing will be my next device.

Pretty damn good deal for those who like to buy phones outright, such as with the Nexus lineup.
Which is how I'll be going since AT&T locks bootloaders now.

Anyone get the M8 using Edge program?

I picked mine up on March 25th and since I'm not due for an upgrade until this September I decided to purchase via the edge program. I'm still on the fence about the edge program and supposedly I have 6 more days to return the phone and cancel the edge upgrade. Anyone else get their M8 using Edge and if so what are your feelings about it? Also if anyone's been using Edge for a while now your input is appreciated too. Thanks!

My bill went down by 2 dollars by going with edge, so it's a win in my book. Did you get the 10 or 25(if over 10gigs) bill credit? That makes it a no brainer for me.
I had 8 GB of data they upped me to 10 and said my bill would be the same
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
IMO, the edge is only good to get on if you are either getting a cheaper phone and want to stay off contract, really want to stay off contract with a more expensive phone and not have to pay the large off contract price up front, or you like to upgrade phones a lot and have the money to throw around for it.
For the M8, if they did it correctly, it would be like an extra 25 dollars a month for 2 years. It's supposed to be the off contract price broken out and financed basically over a 2 year period. You can upgrade at any time however, without renewing your contract by paying for at least half the cost off the phone and turning the phone in. Meaning for the M8, you'd have to pay at least 300 dollars totaly (either by 25 dollars a month or whatever the difference is between 300 and what you've paid so far when you want to upgrade).
Doesn't sound like a very good deal to me. But then again, I still have unlimited data If I was forced to give up my unlimited data for some reason, I might would consider the edge, but most likely I'd just buy an off contract more reasonable cost phone like a nexus line phone or something. The amount price of off contract phones is mostly ridiculous and way higher than they should be. These things could be sold for 300 - 350 dollars and the companies would still probably be making a profit, you can look at the Nexus 5 to tell that.
It really isn't a bad deal, you get a credit for $25 if on a 10gb or more plan, so your bill actually goes down just a little and you don't get locked in, I feel the edge program is a win win really

I'm on the fence about edge
I got the phone on edge cause I can't bring myself to spend $600 for a phone that I make less than 10 calls a month on. I use it more for music and occasional video, some ebook reading, little bit of web browsing, and once and a blue GPS. So the question was is my unlimited data worth $600 today? I use an average of 1.5 Gigs/month on edge the gave me 6 Gigs for the same price + $14 month for the phone financing. I paid $80 down on the phone. My thinking was; sooner or later VZW will just stop offering unlimited data to month to month users. So how would I feel if I spent $600 and in 2 months time I get a letter from VZW saying Unlimited data is no longer a service tier that they offer on a month to month basis. Now I have a phone that I cant take to another carrier(?) And I still don't have unlimited.
I'm still thinking about going back to the store before next week and switching back. I wonder if they will charge me a restocking fee, to switch me, meaning return my phone then do a new sale or will they just let me pay the difference of the retail price and my down payment?
I got edge program since my Bill overall at the end of the day is the same as it was every month on ATT. Basically pay the same every month with Verizon as I did on ATT but can upgrade my device every year (or sooner if I wanted personally) and again pay the same every month. Versus paying less a month and $199 or whatever phones cost and be locked in a few years on that device.
I don't know how it effects your contract ending... But edge actually extended mine

It's a promotion I believe that started around day 3 this device came out on Verizon. When in store I got $20/month credit. They said call customer service tomorrow and I will get $25/month credit a s long as I have Edge. I believe my Edge cost is about $25/month so with the $25/month credit it's like it's free and can upgrade whenever I want zero down. Win win, call customer service, was quick and easy, took 5min to enable this.

Free Gear S2

I posted a while ago in a thread I can't remember that I had talked with Verizon online and they told me that the free gear s2 was the 3g model. Yesterday I went into a Verizon store to play with the s7e and asked the rep the same question. He said it was the Bluetooth only model. Either way they both said that it comes directly from Samsung with no requirement to add it to my account which if it was the 3g model then it would cost $5/mo for data. I'm just going to flip it. Thanks for the $300 off big red!
When i pre-ordered my s7e they required the $5/month activation with $175 cancellation to acquire the watch. I have a hard time thinking the its just the bluetooth version due to my required fee but we will see. I figure its easier to not activate it and sell private party and eat the extra $5/month. ($5/24 = $120, cheaper than the $175 to cancel)
Edit: I looked over my receipt and see that its the $300 version gear s2, meaning that it is the Bluetooth model. Once I receive it, I will go into store, play dumb and cancel it saying that i thought i needed it for the watch.
Well jeez, I wish they would be consistent. I'm going to call them soon and get another opinion.
Edit: just got off the phone with them. Its the 3g model ($299 is the contract price). And It will cost $5/mo even if I never use it or give it away so I'm going with the vr headset. I have a moto 360 and don't consider the s2 an upgrade, and so I'm not willing to pay anything let alone $120 for it.
3 reps with three different stories. Really frustrated.

You guys are confusing me. I thought you need the phone first so that you can register it with your imei number? Then you pick either the Gear VR or the S2 and it ships from Samsung in 4 to 6 weeks (basically confirming that you still have the phone after the return period).
You guys are buying the watch directly from Verizon; not getting it free from Samsung! The S2 even shows up in Samsungs rules section 4. It's a Verizon S2 promo but through Samsung.
3/4 the page will go live. You have to give the receipt, Mac Address, and ECID/IMEI. Then you can pick which part of Verizon promo you want. This is a Verizon promo which is run through Samsung. You will get the 3G model, and there is no contract required for it(Just like with all promos if a contract is required it will say it in the promotion rules).
Thank you for confirming Tidbits! But even if the page goes live on 3/4 us Verizon users are basically stuck in a holding pattern until we receive the phone right? We won't have access to the MAC or IMEI until we have the phones in hand next week (unless Verizon delivers before 3/11).
Correct.

Correct you need the phone for the Mac Address. Also the reason why you wait 4 weeks is to lock you in so you can't refund. 30 days(California). Just food for thought.

Where in the promotion rules does it say that it's the 3g model? I can't find it. I just don't know which rep to believe, I'll probably call again when I have the phone in hand. Thanks for your opinion though.
Do you think Verizon would not give you the 3G model when they can probably convince at least 1/3 of them to get a plan for it? Samsung is selling both models for the same price right now. you know how Verizon loves money.
As if you look at the promotional details when Verizon advertises it. It says retails for $349.99 which Verizon sells the 3G model for that much. They sell the bluetooth model for $299.99

Galaxy S7 and S7 edge requires a new device payment activation. *Gear VR MSRP is $100, 6-game bundle is estimated at $50 value, Gear S2 MSRP is $349.99. Free Gear VR or S2 takes 4-6 wks to deliver. Visit SamsungPromotions.com/VerizonOffer to redeem the free offer.

Yeah, at this point I'm hoping Samsung gives out more information on the 4th. Even if I get a VZW rep to corroborate your opinion, I'm going to have a hard time believing them when three reps have said three different things already. Hopefully Samsung has the details.
just look at the pricing.
Retail value 349.99. There is only one Gear S2 that cost that much and that's the 3G version which I listed. If the retail value was $299.99 then it would be the bluetooth model.
I already got my free s2...bad news is when I called in to pre-order they messed up. They weren't supposed to discount one, I was supposed to wait. But they did and I got a free s2 with 3g from verizon. I can still get the offer from samsung as well.

Verizon has both versions of the s2 listed fur $299.99 on their website.
The 3G version $299.99 price is with Contract. Without which is retail $349.99

Ah well anyway, I got mine free. Just need to decide if I want another or a vr lol

Still sucks that verizon is waiting until the 11th to ship the phones out though

The number of gifts are limited and you already received a gift. The moral and ethical choice would be to inform Verizon of their mistake or not claim a gift.
Verizon already know that the reps messed up but caught if early enough that they didn't lose to much.

I ordered mine over the phone and with my emailed receipt it shows that my free watch will be coming with my phone on 3/11. I will screenshot the receipt.

It is the 3g model which is $300 with contract and $350 without. I called to check my order and they confirmed for me.

Maybe to get the watch from Samsung sure, but Verizon is shipping mine to me on 3/11, with my s7e
You sure it's the watch and not a "voucher" to get a watch. T-Mobile receipt has some that appears like you are getting the gear but as you can see in all those unboxing videos none of them have gotten their gears.

On my order it along side my s7e which logically means i should be receiving them at the same time (3/11), I guess i just have to wait to see. only 10 more days. I do remember the person on the phone saying that both items will be shipped at the same time, but we all know how reps are.

GET A FREE S7 Edge!!!!!

T-Mobile is now offering Buy one Get One FREE on S7 & Edge
I pre ordered my edge. I called them up and I added a line, I am on the 4 lines for 120 10 Gigs each line. The additional line for me is $20 a month. Within 30 days I will get a prepaid Card for $780 cost of my 2nd Edge. I will also get another set of goggles, and another year of Netflix. When I get the card, I can Pay off the phone, request an unlock, and cancel the additional line. and have a FREE S7 Edge. No requirement to keep the additional line. I spoke with the Rep, and acced him Hypothetical questions, and he confirmed what I told him. Do this while you can. I will also be able to get the samsung pay deals on the phone as well as it is a new IMEI....
Good Luck!

oh, did not know I could basically get a free one, and then cancel the line a month later on Tmobile. They just started this
You have to wait 8 weeks before you cancel the other line after you receive your rebate for free phone pay balance and cancel it's also on tmobile page just read faq or terms and conditions to make sure you do everything right

Word of advice, keep the additional line until you get the rebate card and use the new line on one of the s7 edge the whole time until you receive the card. Read the fine print, it'll take about 60 days.

Depends on how you would define "just". It's been available since the 10th I think. Almost a week already.
