Application is not installed on your phone - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone,
I recently decided to convert some system apps to user apps so that I can greenify them with the free version of greenify.
Most of them were successful except for the following apps:
1. Hangouts
2. Music
3. Internet
4. Play Movies
I used the titanium backup feature to convert them. I did it for a bunch of others and they were all successful.
For the apps above that failed, I no longer see a directory for these apps in both /system/priv-app or data/app. They seem to have vanished?
I still have the shortcuts for these apps in my app drawer / home screen but they are the green android icon and when I click on them I receive the following error: Application is not installed on your phone
Would anyone be able to help me with this issue? phone is SM-G920W8 with android 5.02 rooted with cf auto root and TWRP custom recovery using stock rom.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: managed to install hangouts and play movies through the playstore as user apps and all is fine. Can anyone provide the stock music and internet apps for 5.0.2? thanks.

[Q] Disappeared Multi-Window Apps?

Just installed Android 4.1.2 today.
For some reason, a few hours after, I noticed GMAIL and Youtube no longer had the Multi-Window Icon and capability to open in Mult-Window Mode.
I had to manually add it back in using the Multi-Window Manager APP.
What happened?
I had just installed Titanium Backup Pro earlier and backed up a couple apps (but no restore). Could that have caused something to do wrong?
bump
I installed the 4.1.2 Canadian stock ROM today and Gmail and YouTube are available via the multi-window options at the bottom of the screen. I didn't need to install them via an apk (which is good because that doesn't work on my Note for some reason).

update system apps without reinstall

Hi friends today i want to share my discovery about system apps like google play, google play services and all google apps and stock apps. They are all continuesly update in new version. the new update is store in internal memory and may consume more ram and memory and obviously cause battery drain more fast. So here is the most accurate and simple method to make update apps into rom memory easily and whithout uninstall the apps.
First make update of system apps through google play.
Second make an apk file of the app through rom toolbox or any other software you like
3ed use x-plore or rom file manager and copy the updated apk file into system app folder or wher private app folder where the app is present and overwrite it.
4th restart or reboot phone
That's all the updated version will automatically install into rom
Problem solved
Thank you friends
very agge

Google play doesn't work after reinstall and recover

Hello. I had rooted phone (sony ericsson xperia pro) according the instruction which are posted on the forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1865796. I made it multiple times. Everything was ok. But I had no place on the phone so I decided to uninstall Google Play (via titanium backup). Then I installed it again (after downloading the .apk from the internet) and moved to SD. I had more space, but after running google play app, this notice has appeared : Application isn't working. Then I move it back to phone memory from the SD card but the app still have written the same thing. So I decided to restore the phone to factory settings. After restore the Google play app has not been installed. After rooting and installing the Google play app again --> the same problem. Can someone help? It is not possible to install other apps without function google play app, and some apps doesn't work correctly without it.
Need some advice pls. Thx

Issue with TWRP and Root

since upgrading firmware from b3++ to b571 i am facing this issues
1. google translate cannot instal the downloaded language.
2. root and unroot still left leftovers which hindering some of the apk wont run even with rootcloak
3. full twrp still leave missing symlink
so i have been experimenting what are the cause, twrp or rooting
1. google translate the issue is twrp ( not sure why) even if i restore to stock bootloader, translate will not be able to install the language file.
2. rooting and unrooting will still left traces which the apk still able to trace some of the su file. rootcloack wont work with some of the apk
so the only solution is to restore the whole firmware from scratch.
my question, is anyone manage to reslove this? . i want to root and restore few things like the data/network at status bar and hide/unhide the navigation bar. the unroot back cause i need some apk that don like root like banking apk
For what it is worth; I flashed the recovery backup over 51 and did a factory reset and flashed supersu for root.
- I used translate a week ago and was able to download language package
- I am able to watch TV with an app which is denied on rooted devices, maybe you could try adjusting some supersu boot settings as it works fine for me
- Data/network settings are stored in the Google cloud and auto restored?
- I use Nova launcher which allows navigationbar hiding. I bet it should be easy to enable.
Since restoring apps is not much a deal as you can choose all apps you want to restore in Appstore by using longpressing an owned app in your person overview.
The only downside may be needing to reconfigure some apps but I suppose you could restore those be need.
Which TWRP have you installed?

[root] Playing around and accidentally uninstalled the play store - how to undo?

So, this is my first time rooting a phone, and once I managed to get it to work, I started playing around to see what capabilities I had now.
In doing this, I uninstalled the play store. I've tried multiple methods to reinstall it, but none have worked so far.
I've tried installing a new play store apk and used systemize to turn it into a system app, but that didn't work (the app crashed on launch)
I've also tried using link2sd but the app wouldn't let me convert to system app.
If anyone else has any tips for me I'd be grateful.
Using a samsung running android 11 - rooted with magisk, recovery method.
Copy it from another device using ApkExport then transfer the installable copy over to the victim device and install.
I haven't tried it with Playstore but it works on other apks even if the donor device is on a different Android OS version.

sadly the only other device i have is a samsung galaxy S2 that is barely functional. I doubt that'll work.
Before you do anything I'd make sure you have a good backup of your device. Copy text messages, contacts, photos, etc all to external storage.
My first thought was just download install APK, but I see you've done that.
Someone else may have a better suggestion, but, if nothing else works, I'd try installing pico GApps to restore Playstore functionality.

Pico PackageThis package is designed for users who want the absolute minimum GApps installation available. In this package you will find the core Google System Base, Google Android Shared Library, Google Play Store, Google Calendar Sync, Dialer Framework and the following Play Store applications:

Try it. It will copied system apks and updates.
I copied apks from a S4 running on Kitkat to my Note 10+. If it loads Playstore will need to update, that may be a problem... or not.
APK Export (Backup & Share) - Apps on Google Play

Google Play Store app by type is a normal 3rd-party app. Wondering why you want to convert it to a system app?

Yeah it's a system app on my Note 10+, can't be uninstalled*.
Normally it doesn't crash although it's common for it to not connect to Playstore. It does that if Google play Services is disable but even then it doesn't crash.
* I think, it has a disable option but to find out if there's an uninstall I would need to revert to the factory load first... which isn't something I want. It appears to be as I originally stated.

there is no uninstall option. I uninstalled it through other means as my phone is rooted. Now I'm having issues re-installing it and getting it to work.
My last 2 cents here:
Per definition only apps that are needed by Android OS to work are called system apps and are stored in /system/apps. Other apps - called 3rd-party apps like Google Play Store - may be stored in /system/priv-apps.
BTW:
If you manually install Google Play Store APK then it installs to /data/app directory - as expected.
