Just installed Android 4.1.2 today.
For some reason, a few hours after, I noticed GMAIL and Youtube no longer had the Multi-Window Icon and capability to open in Mult-Window Mode.
I had to manually add it back in using the Multi-Window Manager APP.
What happened?
I had just installed Titanium Backup Pro earlier and backed up a couple apps (but no restore). Could that have caused something to do wrong?
bump
I installed the 4.1.2 Canadian stock ROM today and Gmail and YouTube are available via the multi-window options at the bottom of the screen. I didn't need to install them via an apk (which is good because that doesn't work on my Note for some reason).

I have a TW rooted version of the TF300T on build Version V10.4.2.9 , Android 4.1.1 . Recently, as i was trying to install whatsapp on tf300, i came across this a forum gizmolord that has a guide to install whatsapp on tablets without 3g sim slot. And i installed the ALL winners mod app.
This All winners mod App screwed up my build prop. (i didnt know what it was till now) and system apps such as supernote, and mylibrary stopped functioning and crashed (cannot even launch) . As i was a total noob, i tried to shift those apps out of system apps and uninstalled, them hoping to redownload the apks and reinstall them, but to no avail. However, it turned out that it was the build prop that was changed by the "All winners mod" app when i used "build prop editor" to view it.
I manage to find supernote.apk and .odex from a stock rom online and managed to reinstall supernote. I rename some of the prop file settings to ASUS/ EeePAD, then rebooted, and supernote worked fine. However, i cannot find a proper working Asusreader.apk and .odex. The one which i have still says it stopped working whenever i launched it. Also, after i managed to rename the prop file, an OTA came. I tried to update, but halfway it failed , showing a dead android. After which, i forced restarted the tf300t and it says update failed. (i already temp unroot my device)
How do i get the OTA back? And i think it might be because i removed the Mylibrary app (asusreader) which is a system app. So how do i get the My library app working again? Because i cannot find My library in a clean stock rom online. Supernote works fine. I need to update to firmware Version V10.4.2.13.
Help is apppreciated.
Hi everyone,
I recently decided to convert some system apps to user apps so that I can greenify them with the free version of greenify.
Most of them were successful except for the following apps:
1. Hangouts
2. Music
3. Internet
4. Play Movies
I used the titanium backup feature to convert them. I did it for a bunch of others and they were all successful.
For the apps above that failed, I no longer see a directory for these apps in both /system/priv-app or data/app. They seem to have vanished?
I still have the shortcuts for these apps in my app drawer / home screen but they are the green android icon and when I click on them I receive the following error: Application is not installed on your phone
Would anyone be able to help me with this issue? phone is SM-G920W8 with android 5.02 rooted with cf auto root and TWRP custom recovery using stock rom.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: managed to install hangouts and play movies through the playstore as user apps and all is fine. Can anyone provide the stock music and internet apps for 5.0.2? thanks.
since upgrading firmware from b3++ to b571 i am facing this issues
1. google translate cannot instal the downloaded language.
2. root and unroot still left leftovers which hindering some of the apk wont run even with rootcloak
3. full twrp still leave missing symlink
so i have been experimenting what are the cause, twrp or rooting
1. google translate the issue is twrp ( not sure why) even if i restore to stock bootloader, translate will not be able to install the language file.
2. rooting and unrooting will still left traces which the apk still able to trace some of the su file. rootcloack wont work with some of the apk
so the only solution is to restore the whole firmware from scratch.
my question, is anyone manage to reslove this? . i want to root and restore few things like the data/network at status bar and hide/unhide the navigation bar. the unroot back cause i need some apk that don like root like banking apk
For what it is worth; I flashed the recovery backup over 51 and did a factory reset and flashed supersu for root.
- I used translate a week ago and was able to download language package
- I am able to watch TV with an app which is denied on rooted devices, maybe you could try adjusting some supersu boot settings as it works fine for me
- Data/network settings are stored in the Google cloud and auto restored?
- I use Nova launcher which allows navigationbar hiding. I bet it should be easy to enable.
Since restoring apps is not much a deal as you can choose all apps you want to restore in Appstore by using longpressing an owned app in your person overview.
The only downside may be needing to reconfigure some apps but I suppose you could restore those be need.
Which TWRP have you installed?

Good morning.
I have a MHA-L29 C432 with B182 firmware (official stock, updated by HiSuite)
Since when I started to use it, I cannot have access to the Gallery and the screenshots are not working. Further info:
GALLERY (stock):
- Photo tab: Empty
- Album tab: it crashes the app when selected.
Alternative gallery app (QuickPic) works fine instead
SCREENSHOT:
The system take the screenshot but it doesn't save it: "Impossible to save the screenshot, not enough archive space"
All the apps permissions are turned on.
Before starting to use the phone, I was on original stock B126, to transfer my data from previous Galaxy S6 edge I unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP and rooted with Phh's superuser following the instructions on this board by Tkkg1994, then I installed latest TitaniumBackup and restored my data from the backup that I just did from previous phone and had on External SD (except the stock Samsung Apps that i didn't need on the new phone).
Since the beginning, I wasn't able to use the gallery (I didn't try screenshots until yesterday so I don't know if they worked or not in the past).
After that, I had 2 official notifications of OTA from Huawei, then I updated it at first to B138 and yesterday to B182, that automatically unrooted the phone and re-locked the bootloader, but the problems are still there (I hope some update would have been able to fix it).
Sorry for the long post to explain, I hope I can find some help.
Thanks in advance.
Im running e/OS (based on LineageOS). The default file manager documentsUI (from the android open source project) was ok but was missing some features I would want such as root access. I found another file manager which had everything I wanted and then uninstalled documentsui using de-bloater: https://f-droid.org/packages/com.sunilpaulmathew.debloater/
Now debloater has a handy function to remember what you removed and then you can restore it whenever you want. But stupid me uninstalled it after i was done with it and now it no longer remembers documentsUI and it can't restore it.
Now im having issues where some apps try to open documentsUI for me to choose a file but the app no longer exists. Is there any way for me to reinstall it as a system app without having to wipe my phone?
I have root (obviously), magisk and twrp recovery if it helps. I also have access to android platform tools on my pc.
I turned off the phone (completely) and left it over night because it was low on battery. After turning it on all system apps I have removed just magically came back. I have tried restarting before but nothing happened so I really don't know why or how it got fixed but im grateful
