Hi there,
I've a rooted Desire (Defrost 2.5a) and bought a my new SD card to use A2SD+ to solve my memory space issue ( ~18 M Free )
I formated it with ROM manager and allocated 512 Mo for the ext one and 0 for the swap.
After a soft reboot, I now have 108 Mo free !!! That's not so bad, but I don't really get how it's possible to have only 108 Mo free space, if I'm right i should have 400 Mo more.
If someone have an explanation, I'll be really intersted in.
Thanks
Hi
I just started to use a2sd+ and have the same issue.
The "used" value is also wrong. But it just seems to be normal and beside that it works quit well. Installed about 200 mb of apps and my memory would "explode" otherwise
You can see the real values with Titanium Backup.
Hi !
I have HTC Desire with InsertCoin GB ROM 1.05 (not CM), used just for several days. Of course, almost all apps are moved to SD storage except few like Go Apps and small system utilities.
Today I started to get message that storage space is too low - just about 200K. I have moved GoSMS app to SD, then Gmail, and process hangs. GoSMS successfully moved to SD, while Gmail simply disappeared at all. After restart free space on internal memory left only 100K (yes, even less space then before).
Fixing permissions from ROM manager didn't help, so I wiped out cache partition. Free space increased to 65MB. Wiping dalvik cache increased it further to 72 MB.
I have very few data on phone, several hundred contacts and 20 SMS messages, virtually nothing else.
Now DiskUsage app reports this data:
Data - 194.7 MiB
Applications - 122 MiB
Free - 72.7 MB
I feel something is not right there. I can't understand why there so much data - almost 195 MB. Looks like some app draining free space on internal memory. I did video recording today on SD card, may be video recorder is buggy? I also had Locus map for some time, but then I deleted it with Uninstaller App.
Another possible clue - HTC Car Panel uses 50 MB for maps. Where they are? On internal memory?
Anyone can suggest what could cause this problem?
Thanks in advance for any suggestion(s).
Is 1gb internal memory enough for all your apps? I have the original Desire which is plagued by very very low internal memory 145mb on stock hboot, that's why I want to make sure that 1GB of internal memory featured in the Sensation XE is enough for all games and apps?
How many apps/games do you manage to install ?
and the device seems to have 4gb in total but only 1gb is user available, anyone know WHY? and wether you can change a hboot and change the partition table for this phone to e.g. 2gb user available and 2gb used by phone?
Hi I have 162mb left on my device and I have installed 113 applications. I do move most movable applications to my sd card.I have a 32gb card I put in. But as you see, there is more than enough space. I try and move all movable apps over to sd to save space but I don't think you will have any issues! Hope this helped you. Best wishes .

113 apps that use 1gb of internal memory? jesus something must not be right there... I have a original htc desire that has 145mb internal memory available to user and i have 86apps installed with also all movable apps moved to sd card like you and i still have 60mb left on my phone???
it baffles me on how can you have 113 apps take up 830mb of internal memory up especially when you said you move most movable apps to sd card?????

Size of the applications matters too. There are pretty storage hogging apps now ever since ICS was released (Google chrome, facebook, google+, maps etc etc.). Sensation's resolution is way better than Desire's, therefore the applications for this will be clearer and take up more resolution....hence the increased size. Maps in my wildfire was 7 MB and in my XE it is 32.4 MB. So its normal, i have 72 apps with 516 MB free.

I don't know all I know is I counted the apps and looked at available memory before I posted my post....it is accurate. Most are on sd card but some are system. This is the available memory my device reports and just counted the apps again in rows of five.it is accurate.

I use App2SD, app available from Play Store. Also Link2SD is supposed to be pretty good. But that's all I know
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using xda app-developers app
After falshing rom i installed 10 apps amounting to 78mb but the free is just around 55+mb.
Deleted cache & history(10mb) also. When total alloted is 200mb then where is the rest gone? Before flashing on stock i used to have much more apps,i still haven't installed facebook, wechat, couple and maps which i had earlier. And even the ram always hovers around 50mb and lags a little, not very much though.
I have app which shows both internal and system storage but i got concerned when i saw system storage had only 48kb free.So i removed two apps and now it is 5mb free.Yes there are App2Sd or Link2Sd
but why my internal storage is occupied is what i want to know?
Thanks

I am using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1668247 and I have 164mb free left after all my apps.
Currently, my free internal memory is about 140 mb. During the day, that number shrinks to below 100 and I go through a number of steps to increase it...clean browser cache & history, clean system cache, use SD Maid to free up some memory from apps & system, and clean out data from some apps.
But it seems that every time an app updates itself, the size gets a little larger, which means that my free memory gets smaller. I'm just getting a little annoyed. Any suggestions?
