Free Internal Memory Space Shrinking - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

Currently, my free internal memory is about 140 mb. During the day, that number shrinks to below 100 and I go through a number of steps to increase it...clean browser cache & history, clean system cache, use SD Maid to free up some memory from apps & system, and clean out data from some apps.
But it seems that every time an app updates itself, the size gets a little larger, which means that my free memory gets smaller. I'm just getting a little annoyed. Any suggestions?

[Q] Storage Leak Problem on Desire/GB

Hi !
I have HTC Desire with InsertCoin GB ROM 1.05 (not CM), used just for several days. Of course, almost all apps are moved to SD storage except few like Go Apps and small system utilities.
Today I started to get message that storage space is too low - just about 200K. I have moved GoSMS app to SD, then Gmail, and process hangs. GoSMS successfully moved to SD, while Gmail simply disappeared at all. After restart free space on internal memory left only 100K (yes, even less space then before).
Fixing permissions from ROM manager didn't help, so I wiped out cache partition. Free space increased to 65MB. Wiping dalvik cache increased it further to 72 MB.
I have very few data on phone, several hundred contacts and 20 SMS messages, virtually nothing else.
Now DiskUsage app reports this data:
Data - 194.7 MiB
Applications - 122 MiB
Free - 72.7 MB
I feel something is not right there. I can't understand why there so much data - almost 195 MB. Looks like some app draining free space on internal memory. I did video recording today on SD card, may be video recorder is buggy? I also had Locus map for some time, but then I deleted it with Uninstaller App.
Another possible clue - HTC Car Panel uses 50 MB for maps. Where they are? On internal memory?
Anyone can suggest what could cause this problem?
Thanks in advance for any suggestion(s).

[Q] Internal storage left is 55mb just after 10 apps, why?

After falshing rom i installed 10 apps amounting to 78mb but the free is just around 55+mb.
Deleted cache & history(10mb) also. When total alloted is 200mb then where is the rest gone? Before flashing on stock i used to have much more apps,i still haven't installed facebook, wechat, couple and maps which i had earlier. And even the ram always hovers around 50mb and lags a little, not very much though.
I have app which shows both internal and system storage but i got concerned when i saw system storage had only 48kb free.So i removed two apps and now it is 5mb free.Yes there are App2Sd or Link2Sd
but why my internal storage is occupied is what i want to know?
Thanks

"Ghost" Data?

So let's get straight to the point. Two days ago I moved all of my apps to the sd card in order to have enough space to install the newly released FIFA 14.
Had 1.4 gigs of free space on internal memory, but still after downloading it, it said that I had insufficient space available and didn't install it (My LG L9 asks for 200+MB minimal free space to be left), but the problem is that after the failed installation attempt I never got the free space back. Now no matter what I do, I can't get more than 300MB of free space on the internal memory. It was right after I tried to install FIFA... looks like some cached files are still remaining, but the game isn't installed.
Also reinstalled another CM 10.2 rom, but still with a fresh install and no apps at all, had 343MB of free space? dfq?
Hope it's enough info.
Any ideas?
Hi,
I found out (http://phandroid.com/2013/09/24/fifa-14-android/) that FIFA 14 requires 1.3 GB of free space.
You had 1.4GB, LG needs at least 200MB (0.2 GB), so you only have 1.2 GB free - not enough for FIFA 14 that needs 1.3 GB.
It looks like your failed FIFA 14 installation left a lot of junk file behind. It probably downloaded the partial install files to your phone internal memory, and then when the phone detects insufficient memory (LG's 200 MB requirement), the phone refuses to accept anymore, so now you are down to only 300 MB left (LG's safeguard reserve memory requirement).
Use file explorer or Total Commander.
Check your Downloads folders (internal memory and/or sdcard) the unfinished download may be there.
If not, then look at the Temporary folders (temp, tmp). Look for a large file of about 1GB.
If you find the file, delete it and you will regain the free space.
If the above does not work, then the alternative will be a factory reset to bring your phone to its original condition when it left the factory.
Remember to backup your data first (contacts, appointments, files, etc)

Simple way to reclaim app space instorage ?

On low-end Android phones as time goes by, memory gets eaten up, giving me messages about needing to delete apps to free up space - less is available. i do delete apps and such makes a minimal difference....
What eats up the storage space on Android ? Is there a user guide on this ?
thanks

Why free internal storage space growing automatically?

Hi,
I noticed several times that if I am running out of free internal storage space (free space drops below 450 MB) than the system automatically frees up space so I have about 700 MB.
Strange.
Do you know how can this happen? I am a little scared about my stuff getting deleted.
Thank you in advance
It's most likely clearing cached files. I have not heard of anyone losing data from this.
