[Completed] trying to put CWM on a p500 - XDA Assist

hello all, I'm really new to rooting and I'd like it if you could help me out here, this is about trying to get a CWM working on the smartphone p500. It's a new phone, I just put in the battery out of the package.
okay, so I've just rooted my p500 (root checker said it was indeed rooted), and I'm at a loss here. no matter what I try, I can't get CWM working. the first step I took was to try it via Rom manager. It got stuck at 100 % download, roughly the same problem as in this post
So I tried to get twrp, and got to this tutorial. I tried to put in the command "adb reboot bootloader". It appears as though this just shut down my phone, which would then display a "charging" symbole, since it's still charching via the USB. After putting in the next command; "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img", the command prompt returns "waiting for device", leading me to believe the phone has just shut down.
I tried to search the internet for another way to get in fastboot mode, but all I could find were threads about unbricking the p500 *after* booting in to fastboot mode. which should help, once I get there. This appears not to be an option, either.
After some more searching, I came across this post, detailing how to flash a custom recovery mod. Since I'm already rooted, I got as far as part III, step 5. step 6 is rebooting in recovery mode by pressing and holding volume down + home + power button. I've tried this while the phone is off and while it is on, but all it does is rebooting. Then, in this post, I read you need a custom recovery in order to boot in recovery mode.
Having come full circle, I've exhausted all my options. l've probable misunderstood several directions, or I have overlooked something fairly obvious. Can anyone help me?

[Q] HUAWEI G6 -L22 (Root, roms, bugs....) general thread

Don't know if this is a good place to post but after days of searching various threads and forums
I decided to make a general HUAWEI G6 thread to help myself and others!
So a friend gave me this phone and I know very little about its history, only that it was rooted.
Also on the battery it says sample, not sure if that changes anything. It's all functional.
Bugs that I have found:
1) Screen doesn't always wake after pressing power button, but the keys do. Installed gravity app, same problem, so it's not the button.
2) Wifi keeps connecting and disconnecting.
3)Major battery drain (maybe after I rooted again and turned on mobile data) lasts about 6hours even when idle.
So I wanted to flash a new rom.
First I rooted the phone with RootGenius and it gave me a message prior to rooting that the phone is rooted. Since I couldn't use some
apps that required root I did a Quick root and gained root and King User was installed.
Second, tried to find L-22 firmware. I found only G6 L-11 and G6 L-33, so I wonder are they compatible?
Third, tried to flash CWM recovery but when rebooting into recovery I always get stock android recovery.
And, when looking in Rom manager, under Recovery Setup, under Recovery Already Installed I get CWM Recovery and
Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP). This one baffles me.
Fourth, do I have to unlock my bootloader and how? (do I need a code or is there a faster way?)
I tried installing L11 firmware downloaded from Huawei support by enetering stock recovery but the instalation
aborted and I got a message: update packages ext name error.
And this that I noticed:
Power button + up - enter recovery
Power button + down - bootloader (but my phone always gets stuck on the logo and I have to wait for the battery do die)
So I hope that somebody will be able to help and make this thread useful for others.
How to flash, unlock, which rom is compatible and so on...
I see lots of small threads regarding this phone but none of them are helpful.
This is a great phone and I would love to be able to use it.
So I guess I'll take this in little steps.
Can somebody tell me if this is normal? (attachment included)
I charged my phone all night, went to work, listened to about 45 min
of music, used about 10 minutes of reddit is fun app, got an occasional
text or call.
Mind you that I have uninstalled all bloatware, stock apps that I don't use,
most of google services, run a black background, use only 3g (had to install Xposed
and Intelli3g to achieve that). There were approx 150 apps, now maybe 60 that came with
the system. I think that I disabled almost everything I could in order to preserve the battery.
Is it maybe that the battery is weak? Phone was used before and I don't know to what extent,
but I somehow doubt that it could be used so much to wear it this much. Since it is rather new
on the market.
I would be ever so grateful if anyone could put their 2 cents, this is my first better phone and I would
hate to have to give up on it.

Hello !
When your device enter in bootloader mode , is the same like " phone always gets stuck on the logo " - so right now your device is in bootloader mode !
You can acces device only with fastboot commands and NOT with adb commands !
You can put your device in bootloader mode : manually ( by pressing combo key ) or by this command : adb reboot bootloader
You can reboot device from bootloader mode : manually ( press & keep power button more than 15 sec. ) or by this command : sudo fastboot reboot ( for linux ) or fastboot reboot ( Win ) !
It seems that your device still have an locked bootloader because you are not able to reboot your device in CWM/TWRP mode , after you already installed one of them !
Flash custom recovery : sudo fastboot flash recovery twrp-recovery.img
Reboot device : sudo fastboot reboot
Reboot your device in TWRP recovery : adb reboot recovery
Now if your device boot into stock recovery, it seems that you have a device with a locked bootloader .
To unlock your device bootloader you should search on Huawei support if your device is able to be unlocked .
Best regards !
Thanks for replying! I'll try and follow what you said.
Thank you!
Problem with rooted phone
Hi,
I rooted my Huawei G6-L22 using KingoRoot. I'm able to access as su from ADB.
I succeed to mount /system but any file that I put here, gets removed after phone reboot.
I tried to do unroot with KingoRoot but it didn't work.
Android Version: 4.3
Build Number: G6-L22V100R001C649B138
Is there any explanation to this problem?
Thank you.

[Completed] Softbricked phone - recovery wont work

Hello,
actually i have made it, a softbrick which i couldn't fix alone
At the moment i use the ZTE Star 2.
So here is the problem:
I would like to flash a custom rom like MIUI, for that reason i was searching for a custom recovery, i chose this one:
recovery.romzh.com/zte/2015/01/136.html
because i couldn't speak Chinese i tried every combination of the given numbers.
But nothing have made it.
So i extract the recovery img file from the application (in the TEMP folder) and try to flash it manually with adb fastboot, after the file is transmitted to the phone there is a response says FAILED unknown command or something like that.
Okay, for that reason i pushed the file to the root of my sdcard and flashed it with the app rashr, which have work "correctly".
And i thought this was the problem...
Now if i want to boot my phone the ZTE logo appears for about halve a second and then the display turns off... But i think the phone is still on, because if i press the power button only a short time, nothing happens. But if i press it about 10 seconds the device will reboot, like if i do that while it is running...
The first time i have made this (press about 10 seconds) the device has booted normally but since i tried it again to get in the recovery it would boot, enter the recovery or something else, i see the logo for about half a second and nothing happens.
I couldn't enter the recovery mode and font know how i should enter the bootloader, because i don't know if the device is powered off or powered on
Thanks in advance for any help!
Greetings TurboToni

My HTC one S stuck on 'this build is for developement purpose only'

Hi,
I have refereed to earlier threads for same problem but could not resolve the issue. That's why I am initiating a new thread.
I was trying to unlock my htc one s and was trying to install a custom rom. But I don't know which step goes wrong. Now my phone is not starting and I am not even able to go to recovery mode by volume button. When I try to start the phone it stuck on 'this build is for development purpose only'.
Please help.
Regards,
Meher Chandan
It is kind of difficult to help since you are not telling what you have already done...
However, I'm just guessing that your phone may be in a reboot loop with fast reboot/poweroff enabled. This means it is never really powered off. Try to hold down the power button when you see the HTC screen, at least for 10 seconds (more may be required). That should force a hard shutdown. After that, you should be able to boot into fastboot, and so, into recovery.
FWIW, I've installed CM 12.1 and I still got the red warning message. It does not bother me, however.
I got similar case in the old day. Boot up the phone first to wakeup it and force it power off and immediately connect to PC when the screen goes blank.
Try "c:\>adb reboot bootloader" now, sometimes it will fail and report device not found(then unplug the usb cable, reboot it and power off and connect to PC again), you might be need to try many times to make it success(I'v tried like 10 times) and once you get it working, it will reboot into bootloader and now fastboot(c:\>fastboot devices) and recovery also working.

There is boot.IMG file on your ROM.zip (you have installed) extract it in your fastboot folder and reboot your phone into boot loader and then goto your PC command promot and flash boot.IMG (fastboot flash boot boot.img) from fast boot folder.

[Completed] Thl 2015 Recovery Loop Problem | Rooted | Kitkat 4.4.4

Hey there, I'm currently possesed a THL 2015, chiense phone, with firmare kitkat 4.4.4, Rooted.
Ok, today i was trying to change my Bootanimation (which i've changed several times already), but i've encountred a huge problem.
My phone has stucked on On/Off loops at the first time after i've changed the bootanimation...
Well i've tried to enter Recovery Mode.. but.. hmm.. how should i put it... My phone got stuck on it aswell..
My phone is looping in Recovery mode (i know that because there is the logo with the "No command thing"),
The device is turning off, then back on every 7~15 seconds after enerting automaticly into Recovery mode..
I've tried every single key pressing on the On/off key and Volume keys.. but in failure.. the Recovery mode won't goes out, and the device still loops.
Okay... now What i've tried also.
I've tried to connect my device into my computer trying to getting a shell trough ADB. but in failure, cause of the device loops in Recovery Mode, adb and the computer won't recongnizing my device.
Ok.. Flashing?
So i've tried to download SP_Flash_tool for flashing into stocked downloaded rom, but also in failure, non of the roms i've downloaded for my Device were recognized in the SP flash tool, (the scatter).
I've downloaded it from several sites in them were this site: needrom/com/download/thl-2015.
Tried every rom, still not recognizing.
Well i've failured in everything i've tried, so im here asking for help.
My main goal is getting a shell for my device, for me deleting the bootanimation i've tried to install.
ok.. i've talked too much..
Thank's for helping.

Moto G (falcon) - Recovery img problem

Ok, I've been reading around the forum for about a week, trying to solve a problem with an original moto g (falcon). Basically my cousin got the moto g a few years back, and I, in my ignorance, tried to root the device for him. What I can remember was oem unlocking the bootloader with Motorola's unlock code through their website and adb. then my cousin freaked about the warranty warning on the boot animation, and decided against it. So cut to now, I'm a little more experienced, the phone's years old now, and he'd like to refresh it with a new rom, which I suggested, trying to help him. So forgetting what I'd originally done those years ago, I started the process of rooting the phone, installing a custom recovery, to hopefully put a lighter rom on it for him.
OK so it's a UK Retail on tesco mobile, moto g xt1032 running Android 5.1.
in bootloader menu it says "Device Locked status 2", dunno what this is in relation to.
first I checked the bootloader was still unlocked, and adb said it was. so I tried to use CF-autoroot to finish the job, but there was issues. it restarted the phone into fastboot mode, but when the script started, pc end did nothing, on the phone it said, "flashing unlock" and just sat there for 10-15mins doing nothing (i left it the time, just incase it was doing it).
So i read a little more, and found because i'd already unlocked the bootloader, I could just flash a custom recovery and root from adb? so I downloaded the latest twrp and tried. I was unable to do so. it said the partition wasn't the right size? should have documented it, but really didn't expect to run into any problems.
So I restarted and tried to do my usual fallback, and flash the factory image and start again, But couldn't find a source for the specific img, and tried to keep fighting on.
So I noticed that the phone wouldn't respond to adb or fastboot once in fastboot mode, when in android with usb debugging, no problems, in fastboot, didn't show up as adb devices?
I tried booting into the recovery from the bootloader menu, and got a no command. So there isn't a recovery, and I can't flash a new one? if i could find the stock recovery, I would try that.
so apart from deleting all his apps and settings, I hadn't solved the problem at all, and had to leave the job there as I couldn't find a solution.
I know this isn't the most detailed, but I've done this with quiet a few phones now, and felt I was pretty competent. I see everyday as an excuse to learn more, and like to think I have humility. So, I'm assuming I did something those years ago to damage the recovery? I'm running out of ideas, and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction?
I've lurked on xda for years, and learned so much about this kind of thing through my past experiences, but I'm stumped this time, and feel obliged to resolve the problem, as it was me who caused it.
TL DR
Can't flash recovery, no command when I try to open recovery, trying to either factory image back, or root/custom recovery it.
any insight would be much appreciated.
Hi. I just rooted and installed CM13 on an old XT1034 about two days ago. I am also sort of a ROM noob, I have ROMed a few devices, but usually but following strict step by step guides I have found here on XDA. Over the years I have some minor understanding of the process now.
I also got the "No command screen" when trying to get into TWRP recovery. The issue seems to be that if you reboot via ADB and the ROM launches it will automatically rewrite the recovery to the stock one, and when you try to go to recovery from fastboot, it gives you the "no command" error. Apparently you can get to the stock recovery from there by a hardware key combo, something like holding up vol for 10 sec then a quick press of power (I can't remeber the exact key sequence or what forum I read it in). If it does this you have to reflash TWRP again. This issue is mentioned here (http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_falcon) in step 8 about installing recovery. What I ended up doing was after the flash of TWRP via ADB, I manually powered down, then manually bood into fastboot by holding volume down and power, and selecting recovery. This was a bit fiddly and I had to attempt it a few times but eventually it worked and TWRP installed.
The issue with the phone not being recognized may be due to incorrect drivers. I had no issue with this because I installed the official driver package from Motorola. It is available in their website in the developer section. I don't have the URL right now.
Hopefully this helps, for me CM13 Official has been an a stable fresh start for this old device.
