I have the TP2 on Sprint, in the St. Louis, MO area.
Switched from AT&T.
My new TP2 is SOOOO much faster online than my old TP on AT&T!!!
I test using this site:
www.mobilespeedtest.com
It downloads a 512 MB test and gives the speed it achieved. I am consistantly above 2500 kbps, often above 3500 kbps!
With my AT&T phone I was usually below 1000 kbps, often below 500 kbps.
What are your speeds?
I am a convert from a BlackBerry Storm...more like a BlackBerry Drizzle. The overall speed of the phones operation and tactile feel is much better. As for network speeds...
My speed just tested at:
512K file in 1.859 seconds
2.15Mbps Bandwidth
Download at 275.38KB/sec
3Meg file in 6.787 seconds
3.54 Mbps Bandwidth
Download at 452.63 KB/sec
Verizon network
You might want to re-check your #'s...because the don't make sense. There is no option for a 512MB download. A 512k file yes..
With Verizon I sit at
2.53 Mbps for the 512k Download which has been more or less constant
i've varied from 1.54-about 3Mbps with the 3meg file.
Verizon Wireless TP2:
2.76 Mbps
2831 kbps

Not bad since I did this test during peak times of the day!!
Make sure you aren't using skyfire or a version of Opera with their Turbo on it. These technologies cache pages and send smaller versions to your phone and therefore aren't reliable in speed tests. Use only Opera 9.5 (that comes with the phone) or IE.
I tried three time and got 2.64Mbps, 5.09Mbps and 4.16Mbps. I might just have to disconnect from my network in the office and use internet sharing on my phone!

Used both O9.5 and IE here.
with my VZW Imagio i'm getting 3-5 mbps with trying all tests
only 1.75 mbps today on pageplus prepaid (verizon phone/network) in California
4.47Mbs using 512KB.
13.09Mbs using 1MB
I dont buy these results.
They are all over the place, even after clearing the cache on Opera 9.5 I had a few impossibly high results.
I tried DSL reports mobile test with the 1MB and I got anywhere from 4.5 to 6.5Mbs.
I don't get it. I used www.mobilespeedtest.com to test my speed. It reported 1.56 Mbps or 512 KB in 2.56 seconds. however I timed it by wall clock and it took 67 seconds. I used Opera for the test. Is there a more accurate site?
I used the 3MB file and got the following results:
3072KB in 8.999 seconds
bandwidth 2.67 Mbps
download at 341.38 KB/sec.
If I use DSL reports mobile speedtest (1MB file), I get:
1384 kbit/sec
I don't really know which is more reliable.
I am on Verizon in Central Florida
Center City Philadelphia, 15 minutes ago.
NotAtreoFan... how did you do that screen capture? I wanted to do the same thing, but have no idea how to do a screen capture on my TP2

I use CapSure. Handles WVGA just fine. I recommend using PNG for saving screens since JPG compression looks like crap.
Not too bad here.
Sprint in St. Louis today clocking in at 4526 at 4PM local time.
PS- I use Shake and Save for screen shots
i wouldn't use the 512KB file to test the connection its too small. if you think about it most connections download that in 1 second so the test is done before it even begins really.
you want to try a larger file like 1 3 meg will give you a much more accurate idea of your phones speed
this site is good too for testing
http://www.dslreports.com/mspeed
http://www.speedtest.net/mini.php
use the stock ie that comes with the phone.. works great.. I just got
1048 d
332 u
I normally get test results between 1200 and 1500 d for my area.
for a better view tap screen over the test and hold till the full screen pops up... looks sweet in landscape.... we need to port this into a standalone app.
Slower today, but still not bad!
My internet speed is slower today but still better than I got with AT&T.
GO SPRINT!!!
1.2Mbps
I havent heard anything about this on this thread so thought i'd share.
This ap is so AWESOME i have been using if for almost 2 years since i had my Galaxy s2.
I use it everyday at work i can controll my phone through my pc and with no programs to install.

I use it often too. Only downside is transferring large files to the phone. I have a weak router and it takes a while to transfer 1GB or 2GB files. Im pretty sure that will go away as soon as I replace my router with an AC capable one. But yes, the app is fantastic and its free

What makes you think having an AC router will make your speeds increase? The LG G2 doesnt have an AC chip. Just abgn and 5Ghz band.. all you need is N router or above...you wont see AC speeds on a the LG g2..

It supports 802.11ac it was mentioned on many review sites.
http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_g2-5543.php
Also some people have used it as mentioned on android central.

How the hell....
Damn, I am wrong. It does support AC. Hah. I have no idea how I over looked that..
Thanks for the headsup!!
yes i agree, awesome app. G2 has someting similar like this on stock as well but i never use it, i'd much rather use Airdroid . Its fantastic
No problem ☺
I actually came back to reply that the G2 does have Ac chip in it but i see that was already addressed. Needless to say, the max AC connection speed Ive seen is 433mbps which is rather low for an AC chip specially now that the s5 can connect to an AC router at 877mbps. I dont care but i do care that transfering 1.5GB roms do take time lol. but i got myself an OTG cable to it doesn't matter anymore, Back to topic, this app is awesome and i highly recommend it.
For transfering large files, I prefer to use app like es file explorer and set up a ftp sever with the phone rather than using airdroid. For this, this get a higher download and upload speed.
The LG V20 H990ds supports USB to Ethernet adapter over OTG. Just connect the adapter (USB or micro-usb) to the USB-C port and choose from the notifications panel "Power supply (charge the connected device)".
Tested working adapters are:
Apple A1277
and Ugreen USB 2.0 OTG to RJ45 Ethernet Network Adapter 10/100Mbps (use Aukey micro-USB to USB-C adapter model CB-A9).

Are you using Android 6 or 7?
Also, does the adapter work even if you don't install the Ethwork app?
Also here's another adapter that works on nexus, but the company says does not work on LG due to missing driver....

I forgot to say something: to really know that you are connected over ethernet and not over wifi, you can check that with the utility IP Tools: Network utilities.
Check for Connection type: ethernet inside "IP information" tab.
Always check for the <···> in the status (notification) bar and wait some seconds for the connection to stabilize before checking.
Connection doesn't work for me on LG G5
I don't see the <...> icon. I am using the Plugables USB-C adapter based on the same chip as the others.
sit0 interface enabled(up) in Ethwork says No. How do I bring it up?? But also in the screen shots above
sit0 says No but the <....> is present. What does that mean??

Select charge for USB connection.
Cool to hear this! I wonder if it will work on the US996 model? But more than that I would love to get it working on my tablet (V525) which I use for game streaming; it would be cool to have the option of using a hardline rather than Wi-Fi when available. I'm not holding out too much hope that I'd be able to though because I've looked up a bunch of USB Ethernet adapters that are advertised to work on Android and I've seen a lot of "no support for LG devices". I could see LG going the extra mile and adding support for their flagships like the V20 but I don't know about a mid-range tablet.

Hello all!
I have bought the Apple Carplay Dongle with the app called AutoPlay. (https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B076D2BP4S) The App and the dongle have the newest version.
The problem is that the head unit will start completely new or the connection get lost to the device. I tried several devices (iPhone 5S, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone X) - I also changed the lightning cable.
The usb from my device is working. Maybe I do something wrong?
I used a XTRONS, Android 8, Octa-Core, 4GB RAM, 32GB ROM device.
Some suggestions would be great.
Just curious, what did the reseller suggest?

The original adaptor appears to be made by Carlinke. They have a website of the same name - you should start there (sorry, I can't post external links yet).
I had to buy a USB splitter to get my CarPlay dongle to work reliably. A single USB port just wasn’t enough.
Now in the cold time of the year I have a problem with the dongle. The dongle is not connect over the usb to the android device. The app says that I have to connect the box. Is this normal? - After some time of driving it is working.
Now it is the problem that I have to restart my device to get the box recognized by the app. Did someone have some suggestions?

looks like you have the carlinkit dongle like mine, you may need to update firmware on box. I got the latest box firmware from alliexpress selleer ( as per time of this post )
install instuctions
1) format a USB drive as FAT32
2) place img file in root of USB
3) plug dongle into andorid unit ( do not put in USB yet )
4) open app
5) once app asks you to connect phone, plug in USB drive into dongle.
6) you will get message on app saying box updating.
7 ) finally check setting menu in APP to see box and software up to date ( you will need to be connected to WIFI for this I belive)
Thanks for your post.
Is it right that the latest version of app and dongle is from the end of december 2018?
I have the same box on a px5 android 6 and it keeps restarting/disconnecting when I use a navigation app like google maps. I tried using 2 usb ports for extra charge, different phone, cable, etc.
nothing works
Yes, for me it is the same.
I think there is also no update available since 4 months. I do not know why.

I admit I didn't look at the speed, but I regularly send files to my PC or vice versa from my PC to my P7P and it is almost instantaneous.
Really fast
I read the news report about Nearby Share Beta for Windows Release...
It's a beta release. I don't do betas. To me, a beta release is nothing but bugs and trouble, and being neither a cellphone nor a computer geek, I don't need the aggravation.
Also, I haven't started to figure out Blue Tooth.
It appears that I therefore won't be able to copy files to my P7P but...
somewhere along the line my P7P has a photo that I must have transferred from my PC, so I need to take a look at that.
Sounds like your cord or port isn't working correctly, try a different cord and/or port. This happened to me and I just plugged into a different port and never had a problem since.
I finally figgered out how to transfer files back and forth between my computer and the P7P. Then I wrote down the exact procedure so I won't forget.
And you're not going to share what worked, in case someone else has a similar problem?
Oops - forgot the procedure
I wanted to include images in this, but I haven't gotten that far with my P7P yet. So here is how I set my P7P up and how I transfer photos back and forth:
TRANSFERING FILES BETWEEN COMPUTER AND PIXEL 7
Configure the P7P:
Turn the phone and the computer on.
Using a 24-pin USB-C cable, connect the P7P to any USB-2 or USB-3 port on the computer. Be sure all 24 connector pins are present at each end of the cable. Not all USB-C cables have 24 wires. If the computer does not have a USB-C connector, use a USB-C to USB-2 adapter.
From the P7P Home screen, tap "Settings". A "Settings" menu should appear.
Tap "Connected devices". A "Connected devices" menu should appear.
Under "Other devices", tap "USB /file Transfer". If "USB - Charging this device" appears, you can tap that. A USB Preferences menu appears with "USB" centered on the next line.
NOTE: "USB File transfer" may appear instead of "USB - Charging this device". In that case, just tap "USB File transfer".
A "USB Preferences" menu should appear.
Under "USB controlled by" tap "This device". Under "Use USB for", tap "File transfer / Android Auto".
Now open Windows Explorer on the computer. You should see "Pixel 7" or "Pixel 7 Pro" and a cellphone icon along with the drive list. You can now transfer files using the following procedure.
Transfer the Files:
Start the computer, open Windows Explorer, connect the USB-C cable to the computer, and start the P7P. You should hear the usual "bloop-de-bloop" from the computer, and the P7P's Home screen should appear.
In Windows Explorer, double-click the blue "Pixel 7 Pro" icon. A menu should appear and you can now move/copy files back and forth.
I transfer between Windows Explorer and "Pixel 7 Pro\Internal shared storage\DCIM".
If you enable developer options you can set default usb to file transfer and skip a few steps.
