Is QuickCharge 2.0 a Sw or Hw Feature? - General Questions and Answers

Hello All,
If I have a One Plus 2, or for that matter any other device who's processor natively supports QuickCharge 2.0 (as listed on Qualcomm website). But The OP2 does'nt seem to support Quick Charge. So is it possible to activate quick charge through Sw? Like a Cynogen rom for One plus 2 having QC enabled? or meddling with Build prop? I could not find any other thread that answers the question whether Quick Charge, if supported by the processor, needs any other hw to work or it can be enabled via sw changes.
Thanks in advance.

shame about the lack of usb-c because it seems that the sD636 supports Quick Charge 4
Quickcharge 2.0 is supported as written in the OEM site. But charging time is almost same as stock charger. While stock charger took 2.20-2.30, quickcharger took 2.15-2.20.

Because quickcharge ain't enabled yet, it will be enabled with a later OTA update. SD636 supports quickcharge 4.0.

yep
Yes, fast charging is possible.
Using a SD Quick charger inputs 8-9 V, 2 Amp current through the phone. So yes, it does support quick charging.
Do use a SD quick charger.
Mi A1, however doesn't support this. So cheers to all those, who got hand on this phone
Phone supports quick charge 2.0 out of the box but I think xiaomi didn't enable quick charge 3.0 to save up on royalties to Qualcomm. So devslopes-android-kotlin might implement it through custom kernel and forget about quick charge 3.0 since phone dosent have type C port.

Tablet with OTG+Charge

Can anyone please help me with searching of tablet which simultaneously can charge and support keyboard+mouse.
I bought a Type-C hub ( https://www.klick.ee/swissten-usb-c-hub-8in1-with-3x-usb-3-0 ) and it works perfectly with my Samsung Galaxy S20, but my Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 (2020) doesn't want to charge with it (keyboard and mouse are working when adapter is not attached).
Any ideas why this happening and what tablet can you advise to me?

Looking at the A7 specs and the S20 specs, you would notice two differences:
The A7 has a USB-C 2.0 port while the hub is a USB 3.0 hub (probably 3.1 or higher). Massive difference in capability. There are other hubs that could work, but those don't support ethernet at the same time.
The S20 supports USB on-The-Go, the A7 doesn't (at least not officially anyway).
Conclusion: Buy any Tablet from a reputable Vendor with a USB 3.0 (preferably 3.1 or higher) and an Official USB OTG certification. The rest is how much you want to pay .

Thanks for an answer!
The thing is that I tried same hub with SM-T510 (specs) and works with this tablet. I also was yesterday at the Samsung shop and vendor tried original HUB and it also didn't work. One guys on reddit told:
"CorgiLover234 I have the exact same problem. I have two QGeeM hubs that both support OTG+Charge on my S20, but neither one supports charge on my Tab A7."
So, seems that it is problem exact of this model...

Looking for an android tablet that can charge OTG

Trying to build a carplay setup with carlinkit, but I need an android tablet that can charge OTG while connecting data to the dongle at the same time. Any recommendations for a table that is known to allow OTG charging? Seems like a lot of tablets don't these days, even the old samsung tab A used to allow otg charging, but not anymore with the newer ones

tbh i never heard or seen the term otg certified before and i can't find specs for what version of usb these android tablets are.
Is there a list anywhere showing which tablets are otg certified or usb 3.0 and higher?

on-The-Go certified means the manufacturer lists that functionality as part of the official spec and as such has paid for the USB-IF certification/guarantees full support. For example my Poco X3 nfc lists otg as part of the spec even though it only has a USB-C 2.0, but it still lists it and it works as intended.
Just search for a newer tablet in your budget and look their spec in multiple websites (example link I have provided above). Fact checking is always a good thing

Hi Daniel, I have a Lenovo Smart Tab M8 HD (2nd gen) next to me and so far no avail in getting OTG and charging to work simultaneously. Would you mind sharing your set-up?

Oneplus Nord wired video output, firmware blocked?

Hi all,
At present it seems impossible to output video with a cable on the Oneplus Nord (OOS11). In my research I found out:
_MHL does not work
_Slimport does not work
_USB 2.0 protocol instead of 3.1 ; it seems this choice was made to favour warp charging.
_Force desktop mode works well with keyboard and mouse on device screen.
So my understanding is that the hardware is there to make this work but firmware has MHL and slimport locked. I suppose the limitation is to push advance use towards more expensive models.
Q: Is it possible to unlock MHL or Slimport via a Magisk module or other tweak?
Thanks

I was able to dig this thread on XDA that touched on this already https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/dev-wip-enabling-mhl-in-kernel.2262682/
It's a bit old though (latest post was 2013).
Since that time it looks like it got simpler. The chip can do it so it's probably an On-off command somewhere.
Anybody familiar with this?
