I've been trying to get my US Cellular(CDMA) S6 Edge (5.1.1) to work with T-Mobile(GSM). I purchased a prepaid SIM to experiment and still no luck on Data. I changed band pref to LTE/GSM Only. I'm only able to get Calling and Text to work, even though the signal bars are empty but I still get service! I've read I need to Edit the APN so I downloaded APN changer app. and added t-mobie APN Am i missing something?

So i've got the 4G LTE to work and calling. Now I can not send texts. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the band/network settings. Before getting this far I was able to get the signal strength bars to show up and i was able to send text. I'm not able to get back to this but it seems the network is not connecting properly to send text, only receive. what could be the problem or how can i figure it out?

I have bought two phones from the same person with the same story for both phones; The story goes that ATT could not provide good reception at his home with these phones and replaced them with new ones. He sold me the old ones. Neither are on the blacklist, and now both are unlocked. Neither telephone not texting work on Tmobile, However, both work on Att at Att regional fix it place. T-mobilre states that it is an issue with Att, LG states that the phones are fine.
I recieve these error messages:
LG G2...Upon entering 2945#*800# gets a 5 option menu for sim unlocking, all of which return the message "Your phone is not persaonalized"
.....3845#*800#accesses the hidden menu. yielding: firmware 4.2.2, APN Delete states that there is nothing to delete, RMnet auto connect Mode is Off; RF call info yields calibration status OK; Call Test, Auto call test yields Not implementation: Modem Settings, LTE Band Selection lists Bands 1-5,7,8,17,and 20. All of which when checked result in FAIL.
In Modem Settings, In LTE-A CA setting, There are 3 "buttons" titledCA Enable / SupportedBandO?(it runs off the line) listing all-enable,Pcell B4 Scell B17, and Pcell B2 Scell B17,Pcell B177 Scell B2, and the other two "buttons" CA Disable / Rel. 10, and Rel. 9. For whatever that means.?
I ran a bug report that resulted in a 1,457 page document(5.9mb), not attached, as it is way too big. If you were to run a word search on telephony, it might tell someone more knowledgeable than me what is wrong with this phone. If you need to see it I will post it to box and give you access to it. If there is any more information that is needed, I will gladly provide it.
I've read this forum for about a month on this issue, and am probably stumped because I am beyond my level of understanding here.
Whatever suggestions you have would be appreciated.
PS, the phones work in every other way that we have tried.

Understand that Phone may or may not be unlocked. But you need correct APNs to make Data and MMS Work. You need SIM unlocked to get a Signal with T-Mo Sim. Same with your other phone the S5. Please review SM-G900T on AT&T MMS problem
Please post on the respective threads if you continue to have issues.

Thanks, I tried to set up the APN again, but still get kicked back to the mobile network folder when it tries to connect automatically...I can not connect to the network, it doesn't get that far, it keeps putting me back two folders back.. If this is the wrong thread, Please direct me to the correct one. I read the thread that you referenced above, but my phone won't get that far in the process, and therefore that thread does not go deep enough. Am I missing siomething else?
I will check on the Sim unlocked issue, mine would be locked.

I have a samsung galaxy s6(sm-G920F) on 5.1.1 non rooted, the problem i am facing is that the lte stopped working without any reason, i didnt drop it neither i updated anything it just stopped working now i only see the E sign on the network bar, i couldn't find any answer for this so any help is appreciated

You said your rom is not rooted? That probably means the default network settings for your phone is LTE/3G/2G. That option will look for the best signal you have in your current location, then it will choose that data network i.e., EDGE .
It seems like your 4g/LTE signal is weak on your vicinity Perhaps, if you could force LTE (by rooting and installing Advance Signal Status app from Playstore [Device Info >Set Preferred Network Type > LTE only) you can have at least lte reception. Unless, 4g is not available in your area
Try going outside your house, and find open spot and see if your device was able to detect it.
Just let me know if you still have some concerns. Cheers!

But if I insert my sim card in some other mobile i can see the lte sign on top :/
So it cant be the problem with the reception
& one of my friend uses the same simcard as mine
But he's able to use lte
I have tried the WCDMA only option
But cant get the lte sign
Please help me :/

I cant even connect to a 3g
It only connects to an EDGE :/

Same problem for me. Same galaxy s6 model and same original android version 5.1.1 (g920fxxu3q0kn)
From a couple of days it doesn't connect on lte. But the big problem is that if I choose lte/3g/2g it doesn't connect neither in 3g. I have to force it to 3g only to let the device connect back to internet.
I don't know why but when I came back home, if I switch back on lte/3g/2g, it connect back again on 3g (no lte in my home area)
I'm not sure if it is involved with transit in/out wifi spot or some kind of lte cells. I will try other tests next days

I searched this but was unable to find any matching scenario. This is typical CDMA carrier's simultaneous voice and data issue. The phone (Galaxy Note 5) was bough from Verizon and gets 4glte fine when on Verizon SIM card... even simultaneously. I wanted to use the phone with a AT&T sim and after changing APN settings it does work fine, but NO simultaneous voice and data. When I make a call the 4glte signal on the top status bar changes to 1x and there is no data. Once the call ends it switches to 4glte. I have activated Advanced calling with Ver sim card on and when the ATT sim is in it does show HD calling enabled. So what's wrong with the device?? Did anyone face same issue ? Any suggestion will be greatly APPRECIATED. btw I am w/o any contract plan with Verizon

I have an unlocked US Cellular Galaxy S6 and I use my Straight Talk sim card (running off AT&T towers) and calls and texts work but there's no option anywhere in settings to enter apn settings. I bypassed this using an app but I would like to know a fix and not just a work around. I'm VERY familiar with Androids and I've never encountered this issue and searching hasn't led me to any answers.
Anyone? I also keep getting a + symbol with incoming calls and its annoying

There's a thread over at teamuscellular.com. it involves getting into the service menu. I used a USC S6 on TMO for a while. Also maybe a csc edit to show the default apns, and you'll just edit it and it'll stick. It's been a while...I'm just trying to point you in the right direction.

Am having problems with my sprint s6 edge after I updated it to marshmallow. The data has not shown up so I cant really use my data if am far from wifi and my network operator doesnt show up. Can anyone help me with files to get it working as I love my s6 edge.
Is it possible that if I root the Sprint s6 edge and install a custom roms, the data will be back working? If that will work, can I get the files to root it and the possible available roms I can run on it. Plz help. Tnx
You need to setup APN. Go to Setting -> Mobile networks - >Access Point Names then click Add
In here you can config your APN infomation, the APN information you can ask your telecom network service.
Example my APN (i'm using Viettel in Vietnam):
Name: Viettel
APN: v-internet
no user name and no password.
Remember, that is my APN information from my telecom network service.
It's not work for you, you must ask your telecom network service for that information.

APN will not show automatically. You need to add new APN by yourself. Follow my guide to do that.
